Shen Yu Rong was truly a stupid character up until the very end, maybe in hindsight he and the princess did deserve each other
This man went from a horrible person, to you kind of feel a tiny smidge bad for him and see him trying to do right to him turning into a mustache twirling cliche villain and being stupid
His character writing is so utterly weird and so many things about him at the end felt forced for plot
The small scenes seemingly trying to make you feel a little sympathetic for the Eldest Princess are so weird
Like I get she experience terrible stuff, but she is just an absolutely terrible character who I do not want waste time even pretending I could care for
She is gonna be a crazy popular actress in the coming years
I’ve watched her in so many shows already and she has always been good and the fact that she is so young means she will likely get a lot of main roles in a couple years
If you were frustrated enough by previous versions, this one is so much worse.

Firstly the acting the other versions is no where near worse than this show so far
Second, nobody is being punished because of user ratings from Mydramalist that isn’t even the go to for ratings for Chinese dramas
People have every right to be displeased with continually see the same show with what they feel is worse acting and worse changes in writing and storytelling
I started this randomly and I thought I was either watching the same show or having terrible deja vu because I could have sworn this looked so familiar..
It turns out I randomly watched the first season of this show like 2 months ago and didn’t even know there was going to be more ever 😂

The entire show is based off a novel after all
It’s that simple, they continue to make new versions that somehow get worse than the previous ones
