Yes they change Su Bo Cong (SBC) character. SBC in the book is actually an old man who is older than DX by 10 yo or 12yo (forgot the age gap). he's actually some CEO who happens to be friend with DX's uncle.

That section is actually different compared to the book. In the drama, ZSY heard the conversation between DX and SBC. So he decided to stay away. Besides that, due to what happen to his dad, things start going downhill. When he went to the uni (also the same uni his dad works), things got exposed that he is the son of the professor who plagiarised. That's when ZSY start getting super low profile and change.

In the book, ZSY dad is actually not a professor but a mayor / governor person. Someone involved in politics.

Anime and the ova follows the book closely. The drama follows around 80%. They can't really add a lot of the chars that exists in the book easily. They also added more drama inside to make it more interesting I guess.

Not really. I know Chen Zhe Yuan is quite a baby face actor (since am his fan thanks to his acting in Renascence) but am not Tan Jian Ci's fan (since I haven't watch any of his dramas). Out of all the list of actors I only know 2 people in there which is Chen Zhe Yuan and Song Ji Yang. All are new to me~ but this show is probably worth looking forward too and there probably won't be much toning down since the novel are pretty much very plot driven.

There should be no problem for Chen Zhe Yuan as Chang Geng actually. If you have watched him in Renascence, Chang Geng do share a certain percentage of similar personality to Ye Jun Qing that he had portrayed in Renascence.
