I wonder if this poem actually exists in Chinese literature or if it was created for the drama only. It might be just coincidental, but I can’t help appreciating the parallel between these lines and YL’s desire. FW used to be the lantern prince and used to gift her lots of lanterns; he is the luxurious life that she could have if she wanted. But no, YL only longs for the precious simplicity of the moonlight shimmering against still water. The latter she got to experience with XD in most of their date/rendezvous (their first date in her hometown/ the lantern festival/ their two nights on the boat/ not to mention their riverside loving hut). Those times were brief, but let’s hope they will soon be able to freely live the simple peaceful life they both yearn for.
The two of them on the bridge in episode 26 is super cute. XD you mischievous man 😊 I missed their teasing each other so much. Glad we/they have this playful moment before the next angst comes

This could be the case. Based on preview of episode 24, XD is accused by FW of abducting someone from that Deer’s Reed Residence, whom I guess is YL. If so, it’s likely they’ll stay on that boat.
I’m so happy for our CP that they decided to get married right then and there. They knew their own and each other’s heart. There was no holding back, no hesitation. Were they being reckless? Maybe. But I prefer to call it the courage of their hearts. Two lonely and injured souls found and were so in sync with each other. No matter how ephemeral it could be, this love was too precious to be missed. I especially appreciate the show making them husband and wife before YL was ordered to return to the palace (in the novel they got married long after her return). This way they wouldn’t be like lovers doing things behind the king’s back.
