this was a total scam! iu is not a main! she only lasted the 1st ten mins, but dang her story was so much better than the whole movie ;(I can't even say this was "exotic" cuz it was a film, it was just the ml talking to a bunch of random people.... I get the deep meaning of it but sometimes showing by action is so much better than spelling everything out with words, like if they showed us each character's story without any talking it'd have been so much more rich
on the other hand, not only was IU amazing! lol her story surprised me, but the thing she talked about, marrying the guy after 2 months, him dying early, that'd have been so much more engaging.

repetition of the writer zzzzz
Stupid, flat, trashy, self centered idiots, shallow and pathetic cheap traumaI should’ve dropped
“Visit me in my dreams” what about actually talking
Same writer, same actor, same boringness and same shallow characters
that was the sad ep ppl talked about? Tbh it’s sad the writer made such a flat story
He was forced to be a “dad” of a 9 year old at 20, he put all his own wishes behind to care for that kid, he lost his parents too, he couldn’t grieve
But 11 years younger isn’t that young, ml grew up loved and sheltered cuz of the brother’s sacrifice
He should’ve returned the favor, 20/31, 30/41, he had a lot of time to be there for his brother but he was selfishly there for everyone other than his brother
She kept wishing death on her dad cuz he worked? And had his own dream? And wanted to provide for his family? And she felt like he didn’t love her just cuz he wasn’t there 24/7?
And he’s like “I don’t know so much about you” but they had 20 years together, dude you were so selfish you didn’t ask your bro anything and dulled it out with movies
And she was a hypocrite, going to make movies her dad couldn’t make, saying his work wasn’t understandable, gaining the favor of a rich director that just wanted to help her out?
That’s what her dad was trying to do but she called him crazy🤡
And ml says “I never brought up his bros depression and attempted suicide cuz I worried it was because of me”
But he legit yelled it at his bro at the worst time when he desperately wanted to live but he found out he couldn’t and just wanted to spend his last days exploring the life he couldn’t again cuz he was working hard to provide for a kid he never asked for?
But instead he slashed him and let his last days be in agony not only knowing his younger bro knew about his weakness but also he won’t be left with a heartfelt memories
To show them as kids after she confessed her love was so cheesy, like they were deprived of love, when everyone around them ruined their lives for them
He didn’t show emotions? Ofc cuz he was suppressing it
And when he finally showed his emotions and desires to travel and explore the world, he got attacked by his selfish brother about his past mistake as if that forbids him from trying again
Older bro had depression so he made a bad mistake, but then when he tried so hard to live the writer killed him..
Pain, tears, anger, honesty they’re as important as happiness, you need to accept those feelings are normal so you can coupe
I feel like jaeuks story would’ve been better. Atleast a bit more than the other two leads

Empty plot, actors were having fun, comedy on crack I am a big fan of the actors, but I also dropped the first season and picked it up later and enjoyed it
so it's true they never had much strength in deep writing, but this season took it too far
as a nonsensical drama, this was overboard, they had superpowers, evil dark plots that got solved so fast even the characters were bewildered
people would show up and disappear out of nowhere, random musical numbers - did they change bibi with that random girl at the end?- and the writers had nothing to do that he had his five characters go undercover with random characters and stay there for a few eps
I don't mind nonsensical comedy on crack, it was funny, but as a crime plot it was sooo bad
I loved Pegasus market, I loved kkondae intern, chief kim and even the first season of this to some extant but this season only really had the actors enjoyment to drive the watch experience

Passed trash and went to garbage... besides the age, each ep revealed yet another crazy ridiculous plot line and each step there were more messy connectionsBut worse of all was the last ep.. the 1st part it was the rushed out final step of the revenge scheme with horrible jumping edits, the 2nd part was the boring romance/ sad ever after, then came the 3rd part with more crazy wrap ups but again it even got worse in the 4th part and the sudden focus on mls revenge
2fl didn't kill that guy but it was the 3rd bullied... the husband murdered 2ml.... yeah I like revenge but I don't support everyone being a psychopath and ending the drama with cheesy I love yous🤡
The worst part for me was ml knowing everything... like yeah we have this smart fl scheming revenge but nope ml knew everything and led her to believe she was in charge and he always wanted to support her... thanks for making another guy saves the day🤡

Should’ve left the writing to the professionals, the webtoon writers
It’s about time drama writers stop trying to modify webtoons. There’s a reason the creative community chose the wentoon, they released a story, a style of writing and it was embraced and acceptedSome things do need to be modified for the entertainment value of moving picture but the process, the development and the moral of the story should’ve been kept the same
I read a bit about how the ending was executed in the webtoon and it made more sense
Here their biggest downfall in both seasons was lack of coherent development
Everything conveniently went downhill, they just happen to run in different directions, they just happened to have missed the signs
But I was fine until they went berserk with the changes and many things changed
Again the changes from the 1st half made sense for the impact but the development lost all their handwork
I get the exam guy going nuts, kids are emotionally unstable
He was bullied, looked down on, didn’t have the luxury of a steady home that he carried the burden of the future, he was alone and snapped
The way he snapped wasn’t done well, I thought he killed the cool kid, tbh that should’ve been his breaking point
And maybe he’d have seen the kids seeing the video at their final destination and so he lost his shit , sure when he went back he thought old looking girl was telling them everything and yes the one he 1st killed was his bully…
That’s what it goes back to, the bullies became cool, dependable and charming. Even bora. Soon they all bonded. Especially the way they were forgiven for lying
But for nerd guy, he was just alone alone alone
Now, the pre bully murder tbh was too disgusting and pointless. Sure he was upset old girl looked down on him but he didn’t have to assault her. This way, he wasn’t bullied into breaking point, he is not the victim, but everyone was right about him and he was a creep
10years in and he wouldn’t have become a dr or any type of office worker. He’d have become one of those creepy coworkers who’d end up in jail cuz he kept making moves on the female employees and ends up assaulting her….
In the other hand they made aesol kill him as a way of “she was the real type of outsa” and he was just a creep that was outcasted
Anyway what hurt the most was realizing the teacher, the team leader and some of the earliest kids(?) didn’t die, I’m not sure about the ending tho I did read it went with less casualties
So basically the old sacrifices went down the drain, and many died in the name of “a few weeks later they discovered a better weapon” so the kids didn’t have to become soldiers, they weren’t supposed to be sacrificed by the adults to just gain time.. and the adults + others just lived happily ever after? Well all wars are like that I guess….
But I feel like the enemy should’ve been the adults, the higher ranked soldiers and wobin for leaving the kids unattended, that guy deserved to die, team leader sacrificed for the kids and he just went back to base??
Basically they went Mist on us, it “didn’t have to go that way, if only they waited” I hate that as much as I hate the “it was all a dream”
Anyway I thought geek guy led the aliens to the kids, so the shock was ok but again the steps, the results… I cried more when they were all putting on makeup and laughing, kids should be pure, bullying is the main source of the trauma….

this reminds me of a US show lovelife(?), both basically follow the love life of the main lead and the lessons/events revolving around a normal person's choices.the 1st guy was kinda the "dream" guy, they met by chance/fate, he was sweet and simple but for young aya he was too grounding and unfit for her luxuries life dreams. (and at the end she regrets it, but on the other hand he really did want the simple lifestyle, which was only her dream after people pressured her, so if they stayed together they'd have probably fought alot and hated each other)
the 2nd guy was exactly what she wanted but HE was too "ambitious" for HER, so he left her
the 3rd guy was the guy she needed to fulfill her luxury living lifestyle until it felt empty
the 4th guy was the result of people's expectations and their definition of a woman's happiness "of a 30+ year old woman to get married and have kids" and it was too much of a burden
the 5th guy was a boost for her ego, a 40 year old divorcee was still "wanted" by someone but he was too young and free spirited so he left her for money
and the 6th guy was her "the one" who actually turned out to be her long time friend! (I'm sorry I'm bad with faces) but he was really a great not unexpected match for her. he was intuitive and since he had a lot of platonic girl friends he was the ideal modern guy for the independent 21st century career woman, he understood their worries and goals ;D
sadly this was too short, and it took me a while to get used to the characters talking to the camera, and (a shallow part of me shall say) the guys were unattractive, but it was a really sweet underrated unexpected gem❤
I never rewatch stuff but I want another drama like this ;(

for some reason I could remember the 2 other girls' stories as I watched this season, but I couldn't remember the main couple's story xD
I specifically liked Hee Sook and Ha Tae Sung. webdramas have the best noona romances ;p
the overall theme of friendship is so heartwarming, especially when Woo Kyung said "I wasn't with you guys from the start but thank you for letting me meet precious people" TT_TT
and the food looked so delicious! ;)
my rewatch values are 1 or 10, but I'd love a 3rd season~

the good:
+ the teammance (this is what I always want, a big unique team)
+++ Kim Nam Gil
++ the comedy sense
+ Park Kyung Sun (I'd have preferred it if she joined the team faster, but I like the freshness of her, she's like a girl vr of siwon?)
+ hip hop girl and her normal non obsessive crush (I kinda shipped her with Ssongsag)
+ the action scenes
+ the costumes xD
things I didn't like:
- the story
- the small plots
- the pace (things started really moving by the 2nd half, especially after ep14)
- the bad guys (I really couldn't careless about them they were slightly too weak)
- the bad guys screentime was a waste of time ;)
ps. my rewatch value is either a 1 or a 10

I loved seeing Chen meet new people, make new connections, learn about music and eat delicious food~ I'd love it if he goes on more adventures like that, even if they don't film it ;P
Ko Young Bae was my favorite guest, he made Chen loosen up and feel more comfortable teasing the remaining guests, plus he is a super talented vocalist and I wish they release a duet together soon, also he is a natural "variety show" star xD

Best dystopian teen flick
Back when I was a teen, not long ago, dystopian genres were a thing. Practically every book after the "vampire/werewolf" urban fantasies became a dystopian teen flick. And as a bookwarm I've read alot of them and this, does fall well into it's own identity.
A world that is attacked by alien zombies. A world that lost a big majority of their soldiers so they had to recruit kids. A world were adults hid behind those soldier kids.
Sure it's unbelievable, but that was established pretty early on xD
The plot holes in my opinion started from "recruiting kids", especially since their parents, their fathers, as per korean law are obligated to be redrafted into the military in case of wars. And the drama didn't really address that or the idea that the parents would actually agree to such a thing.
The kids were easily manipulated with the exam points, and there was no real need like saying "the aliens can effect the adult brains" or some excuse like "The Fifth Wave" or "enders game"(?).
I mean the whole existence of "the hunger game" relies on "drafting kids to murder each other for world peace"
So yeah the unbelievability of recruiting kids for the military can be easily excused..
And yes, I'm calling them kids cuz teenagers are still kids. Idk where I heard this a few days ago but kids/teens aren't emotionally or mentally fully developed to process and actively live by adult rules.
So these kids were indeed brats, selfish, self centered, whiny, naggy, brats that bullied others for being different or "less"
Just like any other highschool drama.. but I did really appreciate the kids that not only stood up but also comforted the outcasts. They weren't responsible for them, but they also didn't tolerate sht.
Especially Nara my precious ♡♡♡
Now throughout the story, even te selfish bullies, or the self centered naggers did contribute to the survival of their friends and that was emotionally satisfying. Tho I'd have also loved to punch Bora and Ilha.. or sacrifice them :D
For me Lee Chun Ho, Park Eun Young and Won Bin were the MVP adults. And Nara, class prez, Jangsoo were the MVP kids
I really loved the ost as well. The emotional journey was moving, the survival steps were believable for kids better than All Of Us Are Dead. Also I appreciate the lack of real full focus Main characters as apposed to the cheap love square and selfish jealousy of AOURD kids. And yes I'm only comparing them as they're both teen dystopian survival shows
I laughed when they laughed, I was bored in the early els and couldn't connect with any characters until the teacher, I cried when they laughed and I CREID on the last ep. I do hate the cut into 2 parts tho if we had gotten the normal 2eps per week, it'd have lasted around a month before eps 9-12(?) Were out anyway, instead we got to binge 6eps in less than a week. Unless pt2 isn't in April and SOON, I don't mind it as I do with the other cuts

Drama Stage Season 3: Big Data Romance
3 people found this review helpful
this is yet another "fake dating", "misunderstanding", "lying", "woman hurt by cheating ex", "guy that can't forget his cold obsessive selfish ex", "cold germophobic perfectionist falling in love with the sloppy innocent crybaby woman he never would've otherwise", "dramatic turning/saving a woman", "open eye fish kiss" if not just "awkward kisses" and well the most recent "using an app to find love/the perfect match"...
honestly, I can stand somin on running man, but I'll never watch her acting if it weren't for song jae rim xD she literally keeps repeating her roles.. and it's of course the self pitying naive type which I hate.. I mean, if a woman grabs the hands of the guy you were just on a date with, you should just say "you cheating b*******" and you should totally not play along with the obviously crazy woman with her crazy eyes, and like honestly, the guy should just say, "that woman is crazy" like there's no reason for misunderstanding or dragging it out...
and like if your crazy cheating ex comes back, threaten to call the cops on him and do what hani did in xx. you don't need the main guy to be the one that has the last word in...
basically boring drama, boring plot, and song jae rim deserves better...

I really hope this shed light on those cases, or any work related crime... it was incredibly heartbreaking for me to see this... and most of the victims were kids or people in their 20s and seeing their parents fight for justice just so their child's death isn't ruled as their own "fault" is too heartbreaking...
now on a drama's point of view, it was wrapped up in a good balance of "solving" the crimes while also leaving a small hint of "everything can't be solved so easily"...
and this was my fault for not focusing when and how it happened, but I appreciate the change in the typical typecastness of the "evil" ones..
my rewatch values are a 1 or 10, but for some reason I'd want to give another shot, though I feel like it'd be too heartbreaking...

I loved the "villain" here though, she's one of my favorites, she was so fresh (and cute), part of me wanted the 3 of them to work together, but that's just because I love the actors ;p Siwon and Min Jung NEED to do a drama where they are both "1st" leads/a romcom couple ;p
things I liked:
+ siwon
+ siwon's smiles and dimples
+ min jung's adorable facial expressions
+ crazy hulk Mi Young
+ that "jingle"
+ the comedy
+ the overall pace was really great, the weekly dose and the whole journey felt "satisfying"
+ cute couple
things I didn't like:
- the random crush 2nd guy had ;/ I am seriously over brother zoned 2nd leads with a secret crush or (hate in TSLOMS's case)
- my two srs girls (cop girl/con girl) deserved better.. usually if the fl is not the "airheaded sweet type" then they'll add random female characters to fill that part.. but these 2 were different and fresh.
- it needed 40 eps. things were really rushed at the end..
- political plot ;p
- for me the marriage and their issues were "inconsistent"
- needed a better "teamance"
ps: I never rewatch dramas, so it's either a 1 or a 10 ;)

I kinda got attached to this and the characters... the plot was badly executed, mainly eps 7-11 were useless... and the last 3 eps still had their draggy parts, but I liked that dark twist?
and it had a fitting ending, almost perfect for the story.. though I'd have done some things differently, but I liked that ending scene, it pulled at my heartstrings.. mostly the "evil" soul should've been a dark characterless thing? because non of the possessed people acted like the originals ;)
ps, I don't usually rewatch dramas, so my rewatch values are either 1 or 10 ;)

Dirt wrapped in facy bow
there are 2 categories that's missing from the above rating system, cinematography which was a 100/10 and plot development which was a meh 5.so like, the shots were so extravagant, so beautiful, so well though tout, so well balanced, but the story? the backstory for the evil organization was trash. the "twists" eventhough they were shocking were stupid, basically the villains were so smart yet gave away their own lives and worse make a stupid revenge scheme that compromised herself more than her victims..
like sure, sangah was a psychopath, but an elaborate acid water scheme, that obviously put herself at more risk? and the tree bottom becoming an acid pool and boom one push and it's over?
here's how I'd have done it differently. poisoned gas, and she wears a protective mask but it gets cut off by accident and boom we see her suffering chocking on her own plans. (don't judge me, I'm writing this with a writer mindset xD)
her whole persona was "conducting plays", a puppet master if you like, she planned and played everyone, we as viewers needed to see her plans fail and her seeing the wires cut off, that was the real suffering, she had no real power
and suddenly everyone was rich, when her friend got 12 years in prison.. so it was that simple? there was no death mystery cuz she never died. they didn't need to piss sangah off when they could've laundered the money that easily?
some people would look at this as a fancy metaphor for "the top 1% and people exposing their true colors infront of money" or whatever else one likes and they are not wrong
but to me it wasn't that deep. it was just 1 psychopath that married another, and her father conveniently had an organization of psychos that liked to kill to reach their goal, for what? petty angst, why? cuz that's how shallow the writer is
squid games is not a metaphor of rich and poor, it's entertainment. you can ofc see any metaphor you like, it's not wrong. we can all look at the ink on the page and see a flower, a monster, or just a splash of ink.
one and two aren't crazy, and 3 isn't a cynic that lacks creativity. I can look at a literature piece like little women the book, and say it wasn't a rich vs poor, it was just a love story. or personally I think it was more about a woman's position in society, regardless of background, women are forced with 2 options, marry rich or marry love, and the 3rd variable is the rebel's "if I don't want to be either I'll be neither"
I did not compare little womens cuz besides the basic, 3 sisters, poor, artist, material world, nothing is similar. others can see more similarities but no one is wrong
sooo, long story short, as an entertainment piece, ep8 was the best. the psycho's Truman Show was a great touch, the manipulation, the step by step puppet show and everything just being for sangah's enjoyment watching injoo's reaction was a better story choice than the veitnam, sad mommy issues, money, Vietnam and 99% of the show thinking Do Il would betray her. or being over involved in his feelings for injoo when like literally 7m is a great reason for someone to help cuz 70b is way too much to want to escape with
the songs were great, Uhm Ji Won as a calm psychopath is a great addition to makjangs and their recent love for screaming women. Kim Go Eun also rocks heavily emotinal scenes. for me, her meltdown in prison, and sangah's scheme in ep8 deserve to be in the "acting" hall of fame
going to compare this to eve, both are makjang, both wanted to go crazy, and tbh I'm sick of romance dramas breaking up the best couples and say "sad endings are realistic", it's not sad to beautiful people didn't end up together, real sad endings come from death, and the ones that need a sad ending are makjangs, a happily ever after makjang isn't worth all the pain and angst
killing the villain is not a satisfying ending. they get caught? they kill themselves. they go crazier? they fall and accidentally die
real suffering comes from detaching the villain from their power. let their world crumble. and thus, in Eve the ML saw the amount of destruction they caused and what did he do? suicide but with murder. and that's they point, muurrrrder (again don't judge I'm a writer xD) but how to make murder worse? one dies and one lives but loses everything, her memory, her sanity, her personality, her life, and she lives in a state she doesn't know what's real or not, she's just a shell
but I guess Eve got there 1st so this couldn't copy it. and psych ward is the 3rd option for villains anyway
