A tender love story with emotional depth – but not without flaws

I really enjoyed Will Love You in Spring – especially the beginning.
It starts strong, with a touching atmosphere, excellent acting by Li Xian and Zhou Yu Tong, and a promising emotional journey.

The first half is heartfelt and full of quiet, powerful moments. If you're someone who appreciates a slower-paced romance with real emotional healing, this is definitely for you.

However, the story shifts noticeably once the main couple officially gets together.
From that point on, the pacing slows, and the behavior of the female lead became frustrating.
She chooses her career – which is perfectly fine – but instead of treating her partner like an equal, she shuts down emotionally, avoids communication, and withdraws without explanation.
It felt immature and out of sync with the strong character we met at the start.

Despite this, the drama still delivers a meaningful ending and beautiful cinematography. It's a story about grief, growth, and second chances. Not a light-hearted watch – it deals with deep emotions and even grief-related themes (yes, there's a lot of talk about death and letting go).

I cried, I got annoyed, but I was never bored.

Recommended?
Yes – with caution. Don't expect fluff or comedy. This is for a quiet weekend, when you're in the mood for something deep and melancholic, with just enough hope to carry you through.
