Anyone above 31 is always appealing to me so even he's 35-40-45 I still love him. Age is only a number. I have dry humor myself..some of my co-workers didn't get my sense of humor but things that get me laugh made them cringe. I have to agree with you. The only good thing about Ancient Love Poetry is the OST. Liu YuNing, Mao BuYi, and Charlie Zhou were delivering the songs with outstanding melodies...congrats to them.

Thank you for the article, although I've googled and dug all the info about him, I always welcome new articles and you wrote something 'personal' that I don't know yet. So, yeah, thank you very much. He saved Long Ballad, half of their high score is earned by him and Zhao LuSi, I think without Liu YuNing and Zhao LuSi...Long Ballad wouldn't have as much interesting plots as we've seen. For international fans, we knew Liu YuNing from Long Ballad drama and we like him so much...we want to get to know him more and even more. What I love about him not only his amazing voice but also his outstanding performance in Long Ballad. I hope he'll find success (better late than never), the love of his life (I am avail), health and long standing career. He seems a nice guy...the best part if he knows how to cook....I love him even more.

Honey, here you sound like 'rave ranting' to me too. One thing though, this is public forum and review can be good and bad one. Hope you understand that. You have your own opinion and I have no right to say otherwise in how much you like (or dislike) to any certain drama, the OST is great though or are you going to get mad too because I said I like their OST? Why didn't I review Truth or Dare and Qing Lou because I don't even try watch them...things that interest me about this drama at first was Xu Kai but well...he's unexpected. It's awesome if you like him here and you're welcome to rant in Truth or Dare and Qing Lou forums...don't let me stop you.

I have nothing against the actors but holy s***...Yang Zi was so annoying the whole 63 episodes with her childish-high pitch-spoil rotten child voice, too much flashy fake visual effects, and I am not into sweet-fluffy cotton candy love story.

Unfortunately, I gave up on ep 12, don't like FL acting and the story line is draggy...vague love story..things that don't make sense to me. I am looking something else more enjoyable and interesting..many more option out there that will hold our interest.

NO for me. It's a good drama if the writer straighten the plots...too much beat around the bushes. I think they need to finish up the drama by ep 9-10 because it's concluded the whole segment. I don't know what are they going to rediscover from ep 11-20? I dropped it, overall score of 8.6 is overrated...6.5 is my best rate. Definitely, not fawning over it. I think you've the same reason as you stopped watch it....

Xu Kai, Darren Chen, and Riley Wang has the cutest face for young actors and I don't think their type of personality is best match for role that demanding seriousness, sober, quiet, poetic romantic character. These guys are most fitted in a lot of happy, active, chatty, full of life kind of character. It's like Dylan Wang Miss the dragon again, misplaced role's characteristic.

Vic Zhou once said that he'd like to have role that isn't so typical...he likes the role that different..he was so dang ugly in 2012 Perfect Two with Yang Mi. In Flame's Daughter, he's supposedly a flamboyant man that waiting for reincarnation of his true love, his flamboyantness was represented with his look and the way he talk. Xu Kai is a few thousand years old Deity didn't fit with his poetic romantic look but ok I take your preference too because Xu Kai isn't looking bad at all...

Agreed...like a lot of actors/actresses....sometimes they got good roles suitable with their characteristic and most got out of their characteristic that we fans talk. Xu Kai is a great actor...very cute and funny in Court Lady but this time it doesn't fit him as a character with long hair, poetic look, flowing white gown/robes, eternal ancient love/romance gender. He's more like Shang Shi Mu...mischievous, spoil, happy go lucky kind of guy. I know actors want to try different character and we all know it by now that this one is not a perfect fit. Seriously, hope it will get better as the episode progress because right now he looks like out of place. Sorry, Xu Kai.

I think this is public forum that we can express it openly without getting snap on. Some of us also want to know the review from others before investing our time to watch 49 episodes. After try-on a few episodes, we may or may not like it...and this is apply to any dramas not just to this one.

You're harsh to Xu Kai..he was awesome in Court Lady and very comical and expressive. Yes, I am tired of C-drama that has same old same typical characters too; either stupid childish child-voice girl FL or cold emotionless aloof ML..there is no maturity in their acting or maybe it's the skill thought in their drama class. They probably only cast actors/actress based on popularity instead of individual characteristic.

Yes, OMG, it's annoying. She should probably express wonder with alot of fake gasping and breathing out, but if we know our boyfriend was a doom...should it be expected that we'd see unusual things everyday? 16 episodes for 100 days being alive is too much for me to stomach so I dropped it.

I don't really like this drama, overall score 8.6 is too high, all the BS - irrational happens to dialog and story line. Kevin and Aunt, Canadian and Korean husband and wife both speak their language respectively...should one of them speak/understand one language as like normally husband/wife is? Too much around the bushes...FL isn't great...too much faking 'ahh....' or 'wow'....'hey'...without any significant to enrich the plots...nah, it went flat to me..
