That’s why I keep saying, Chunzhi deserved what happened to him in a roundabout ironic way. I don’t feel bad for him at all. To compare him to Shen Che isn’t fair, Shen Che is a hundred times better than, like you said, “someone who grew up without hardships” with a naive view of the world, shouldn’t be put next to a person who experienced death and suffering as a child, crawled out of it himself and survived.

And I keep thinking that even if Qingyuan actually married him like she’d planned, as Chunzhi himself doesn’t even dwell in the world of politics (bro literally couldn’t save his own wedding) she’d end up regretting it cause Chunzhi is like a top-notch cultivator with no skills as to how to use his cultivation.

So many people saying the fl was innappropiate to make out with Shen Run. People, we've all been waiting for a kiss scene, we finally get one, and we're reducing it to "oh she's getting married tomorrow" when the scene itself shows her knowing with Shen Run (the promise to give him one more chance) that the wedding would not happen under any circumstances.

Chunzhi got what he deserved, i don't feel sorry for the character. If he truly cared about Qingyuan, he would've let go all this while, and not let her face this type of humiliation. His naivety and "love" is his damnation.

For the next episode, Shen Run will surely make sure Qingyuan isn't exploited by those smiling scheming elders. He'll probably use the chance to kill two birds with one stone (protect Qingyuan, and solve his coal problem).

THIS! That's why i feel like the events that unfolded in the wedding is a perfect fit for the characters and the actions that led them to it. Especially Chunzhi.

It's always the "female" lead that has problems in their eyes. They're mad about the scene of her making out with Shen Run when in that same scene she gave him one more chance (to keep them together) and knew the wedding wasn't definitely going to happen.

Pity for the Marquis' son, but his naivety and adamant behaviour really became his downfall. No way is Qingyuan going to become a concubine. Never.

If you ask me, i'm content with the way things went. It's oddly fitting for the characters. Can't wait for Shen Run to go commander mode in the next episode hehe.

That’s my thought too. One of the many reasons why I think the grandma is also sus. As for the Madam, it’s what you said, using others for her evil deeds so it doesn’t revert back to her. Thankfully her letter-switching scheme didn’t go unnoticed. I just hope Qingyuan can actually get evidence to lock her up.

Also, the way Qingyuan’s father is always going “this is my residence hence anything happening in it is private” always annoys me. Someone committed a crime that deserves to be prosecuted and you’re saying it’s a private matter? Yeah right.

Most definitely a masterpiece in this case. We've all watched drama's where the side stories are unnecessarily or unimportant scenes are added for fluff, Spring of the Blade cuts it out well.

Episode 19 in the end was so high-action! Shen Run unsheathing the sword so bored and nonchalantly really killed me 😭 Peek your head high enough and the next thing a blade was embedded in the skull 😂 Really really ruthless Emperor's Minister. Why do i feel like he's gonna clean up the blood on Qingyuan's in the next episode, hehe 🤭 One can hope.

The funeral scene was so cool. I hope Madam Hu gets what she deserves soon, this arc is about her retribution after all. Let's hope Qingrong the Fifth sister will side will Qingyuan, Qinghe, and Zhenglun the second young master when the time comes.

Also, the way Shen Run just walked past Qingyuan 😭 Bro was in work mode no disturbance. The wedding scenes in the outro just keeps convincing me that Qingyuan is going to agree to marrying Li Congxin and Shen Run will barge in to stop it from happening. They both seem to be going down the path of diverged goals.

Overall though, the end of Ep19 is probably my best so far.

"I want to be the one who takes care of you" That's the rarest confession I've ever seen in a drama. I really felt for both of them and their struggles to not end up divided and hurt, cause with so many cases and fights they've seen, it's so easy to make that mistake.
