Yep . There was no need of love story. They already had perfect best found family. No needed for love in between. Or maybe the love story wasn't exactly that impactful when you see how other relationships evolved so much. Like friendship between ML's, kinship between yichen and bai jiu, sijing and other members, even yinglei with others. So your love story has to top all those emotions but that didn't happen. It was moved to far end. And wenxiao character was made more about love than friendships with other members. If they have found a balance there her character wouldn't have looked so out.
