All the main leads (PMY,SJK,YAI) are now a top stars and A-listers. Yoochun was at the top too but too bad he has bad rep now.

it was popular because it was one of the first trendy historical dramas. the male lead was also popular when this…
It's interesting because the second male lead and third male lead actors became hallyu stars and are much more popular now. I wonder what happened.

A classic. Very entertaining and every episode was exciting. Park Min Young was on top form and no doubt the star of the show. The forbidden love was hard to secure and had to be fought for. Great actions from the rest of the cast. The ML was such a good actor. He was sadly missed in subsequent drama. The sound track " a parting for you ....) was excellent. Very enjoyable

It's been a long time since I enjoyed a drama and anticipated so much of it that I finished this in record time. And maybe it's because of this, that I was a little bit upset with the drama ending so quickly because I actually wanted more and didn't want it to be over. At 20 episodes, which I usually think is a good enough number, now it is too short. I love the characters as individuals with their own brand of personality and as a group how they lean on each other and help each other grow. This is one of the times that I wish that the writers did not end things with a neatly tied bows and explored more of the ending.

Something about this drama is truly special. It’s very comforting to see how these four friends would do anything to protect each other. Moon Jae shin really moved my heart, he just want to make sure the person he loves is safe and happy , even if the person may not love him back. I love the way he react to her like a worried puppy when she get in trouble . Yong ha always stick around with Jae shin and care for him like a brother. While Lee sun joon is also willing to do anything for Kim yoon shik. This drama is truly a master piece. I need to mention the background music, it’s not just the dialogues and the actors that portray the emotions well , the music also helps us feel the chemistry. The music matches so well with the scenes. It’s so interesting to watch it that way.

The actors did such an amazing job expressing these emotions. I would never get bored of watching it even after my tenth time.

The ML is a little wooden at times, and I always want the leads to find out the cross-dressing lead's true identity…
Queen Seon Deok has an intellectual female lead and an intellectual female villain. Of course in the earlier episodes her character needs to develop first, but once you reached almost the middle of the drama, you'll enjoy their debates and conversations

The ML is a little wooden at times, and I always want the leads to find out the cross-dressing lead's true identity quicker, since I think the deception once they begin to fall in love is so agonizing.

I've found it a little disappointing that Kdrama screenwriters rarely write FL's who are intellectual and bookish (poetic or philosophical), who can have deep conversations about profound topics (and not because it's their job (as a lawyer, for instance), but because they love to think deeply and are bright-eyed and curious) and who are invested in building a world that upholds justice and what is good/right. These types of female characters I encounter more frequently in western literature/movies/TV; think of Jo from Little Women (for a literary example) or Danielle from the Cinderella story retold in the movie Ever After, just to name a few imperfect examples off the top of my head.

But I found the closest version to this type of female character in a Kdrama in Kim Yun Hee (you have to get a few episodes in, though), and it was refreshing! I also loved the way Kim Yun Hee and Lee Seon Joon inspire, encourage and help each other to be the best versions of themselves throughout the entire drama. That interplay was lovely to watch, and it made me root for them.

It's a real pity that this isn't a wlw drama, because I really like ChoSeon and am shipping her with KYH (FL).
omg same here! still waiting for a good historical drama where they end up together. somehow the FL and gisaeng ALWAYS have the best chemistry lol

please watch Painter of the Wind, there's also a crossdressing girl there and her dynamic with the female gisaeng there is more obviously romantic

I watched this just for Yoo Ah In.
This was the first thing I ever saw him in and I fell in love immediately

This was a rather old series but I enjoyed it very much, especially seeing Park Min Young and
Song Joong Ki when they were younger. It's a good and enjoyable story, and I like that the show acknowledged the " prettiness" of the FL when dressed up as a boy.
I had strong second lead syndrome Yoo Ah In’s character until almost the end. He truly was a good one!

I'm on E3 and the ML is such a sociopathic ass I'm hoping big mama Beom Ho Ja gets a chance to deal with him.…
no he's always the same 😂

I don't understand why all Fl not set boundaries with 2nd Ml in kdrama or cdrama or any other drama.. But ML always…
That is not a "biological fact". We get the point you're trying to make but to say it's a biological fact is a literal falsity.
