Even I felt this way. But after analyzing and reading theories, what I think is Sunjae does still indeed have his memories, if you remember his watch glowing when he died, meaning he and Sol time traveled together. I am hoping this is the case. He must be pretending.

You're not alone. The three shards arc was actually my favorite part of the story. Watched the drama recently and I remember being so excited and intrigued during this part of the story, so I was kind of surprised to see many people not like it as much. As for me, I really loved Lamu and Heartless :D

Lol I remember being so confused about this as well! Choi Hyunwook is only in the past (which is yes, the male lead's father when he was in high school). The scenes you see of him is all in the past. The girl he fell in love with at first is not in the present. It may be confusing, but the actress plays two different characters actually: the female lead, and her mother from her high school days which Choi Hyunwook's character fell in love with). It will become clear to you when he goes to the past. He will talk to some guy in the instrument shop and it starts from there. Maybe ep 3? I don't remember. But it'll be a really good watch. :)
