When my drama world was just filled with kdramas, dropping was very rare for me. I disliked the idea of dropping a drama, because I disliked the general idea of leaving something incomplete. But I soon discovered cdramas, thai lakorns, jap doramas and recently, taiwanese dramas and that's when I realised I needed to be pickier with my dramas because I have limited time.

Eventually, I developed the habit of skipping (like 5 seconds at a time, read the subs then skip and repeat) because of either (1) too MANY filler scenes and (2) side stories of side characters which I mostly did not care for. Or if the drama is too slow-paced, I put the speed at 1.5x. This habit has helped me stay away from dropping too many dramas because I could still get the good bits more efficiently.

Over time though, having watched so many dramas, I grew tired of cliches, cheesy lines, plot holes, bad acting, etc, all of which I had initially mentally bypassed because I wanted to finish a drama for the sake of finishing one. Now, if even after all that skipping and speeding and the drama still manages to make me feel bored, it's a drop, no matter my progress. For example, I recently dropped a 36-episode drama at episode 34, because the characters were getting on my nerves and the story has been dragging on for the last 5-10 episodes. I didn't feel regretful at all. In fact, I felt a breath of fresh air and a load off my chest because I could now venture on to start another drama that could make me MUCH happier.

After that major scene, the plot pretty much goes downhill the last 10 episodes. They dragged this out for so…
I feel you, it dragged so much I started putting it at 1.5x speed on default + skipped scenes. Eventually I dropped it at episode 34... I couldn't bear wasting anymore time watching it. I wouldn't recommend it either.

This drama was on crack most of the time. A great watch for viewers who want something really light and funny to laugh off to. Not for you if you analyse and are critical about plot progression! That being said, I enjoyed this drama! It's given me lots of laughs and tears. As someone who skips side couples, this one did well in making me like the side characters so much that I've never skipped their scenes. Hope there will be future dramas as light as this one in future!

I want to rewatch this solely for Runyu but at the same time I know rewatching this will make me sad for poor Runyu again :(

I started this without having much expectations but ended the drama feeling very satisfied. Season 2 please!!! There is so much more storytelling material we can go from the ending, especially with THAT last scene!

Chusheng is my favourite character in this drama. Leon's acting is really good too! The way he carries himself in the drama is also very attractive. It's funny reading the Viki comments whenever Chusheng smiles because everyone goes gaga over him (myself included)!

So... I thought they said Wuxin was gonna sleep for 100 years? Or did I miss something? Because even before Yueya…
Wha- how did i go from sleeping once every 100 years to sleeping for 100 years ? my mind must have really been a mess since i was watching it in the middle of my university semester. thank you tho!!

So I watched the last episode and am a bit confused.... I'll post my question as a reply to this.
Also, generally really enjoyed this drama. It was a nice mix of comedy, fantasy and romance. Really like the relationship between Wuxin, Yue Ya and Lord Gu. I hope season 2 and 3 are as good as this or even better.

So... I thought they said Wuxin was gonna sleep for 100 years? Or did I miss something? Because even before Yueya died, she said she was gonna take care of him until he wakes up. But she would obviously be dead after 100 years. Same goes for Lord Gu. Yet we see Lord Gu in the last episode, probably middle-aged??? What???

If you haven't watched Zenkai Girl, I would recommend it, as it too doesn't have the OTT/cliche scenes of a manga,…
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check it out :))

You can definitely tell this was a shoujo manga adaptation but at the same time there aren't any of those typical corny scenes most adaptations have. I'm so glad I found this. I haven't watched many manga adaptations (much less read the manga these dramas were adapted from) but imo this one is one of the top ones out of the ones I've watched. But well, I'm still a newbie when it comes to jdramas, so if anyone wants to recommend other dramas (preferably romance) I'm all for it!!

I don't think this is a spoiler because the sypnosis writes that they eventually become 'gods'. (but if it is, tell me I'll mark it as a spoiler).

I just have a question: How are the Baili brothers and ming ye feng SO calm and unfazed by the fact that they are gods? The moment when they "levelled up" and became gods with powers was severely lacking to me because we don't really get a sense of how they feel about suddenly finding out they are gods. And honestly, this bugs me because now it's becoming very hard to empathise with their thoughts and actions EMOTIONALLY. Through the brain I get they want revenge but it doesn't reach my heart, doesn't really make me root for them nor feel anything at all. I'm at episode 39 and just watching for the sake of finishing it.

Sadly, 2-3 yrs is the average start delay for most of these 50+ episode dramas. There are a lot more dramas than…
Darn, seems like making such dramas in china are a high risk investment. Thanks for the insight :)
