Probably one of the best actors of his generation. He may not be as popular as some, but I think he's incredibly more talented. His acting in My Country: The New Age was just perfect. Hoping he gain more attention.
I love the drama and the leads, but there’s just something about how MUCH Seunghyo loves Seokryu that it makes it awkward to watch, because it doesn’t seem THAT reciprocated.
For instance, I think the dialogue in the ending scene of episode 14 was very good, but even then, it feels like Seokryu only says 'yes' because the script dictates it. With 1 hour and 20 minutes, they should have explored her feelings a bit more.
I’m not sure if it’s due to the script or the acting, but Seokryu always has this expression that makes it seem like she’s constantly wondering if she made the right choice by dating Seunghyo.
ZYC got 62 seconds in the trailer, 1 second more than both leads combined. I dont think thats normal, but i'm still hoping that the drama will be good regardless. The cinematography looks CRAZY GOOD.
I thought I would hate this episode and maybe skip a lot of parts, but it was surprisingly good and one of my favorites. To say something, it was pretty reasonable and gave a lot of deep to Seokryu character, at least in my opinion. The only thing I dont like is when Seunghyo gets too overprotective and jealous. It makes seems his character so egoistic (and sometimes annoying) even though he mean no harm. I just think the writer should had thought more of putting those moments in other instances of the drama instead of now.
i'm kinda happy that they are going to show his ex-boyfriend this early, even before the leads start something. rather that than wait untill episode 12.
even though danho and moeum had very little screen time, i think i enjoyed their story a lot more. seunghyo and seokryu's bickering can be way too much sometimes.
it's soo weird to see haein in a romcom, but he did not disappoint at all. also, seok ryu's dad is not going to make it until the end of the drama bahahaha
Overall, I think it was very much worth it, despite its limitations. While it's true that episode 24 was a bit all over the place and some things didn't make much sense, I don't feel like I wasted my time compared to other dramas. It was a refreshing series with beautiful cinematography, mostly strong direction, and good acting.
Even though the score will probably go down a lot because of the ending, I hope people still give it a chance because it deserves.
The last 10 minutes of episode 17: WOW. Quite impressive acting from Ryan Ren. Say whatever you want about how insufferable as a character he is, but damn, the relationship and dispute with Mr. Shen are so well built up. It's just such a shame that his misfortune as a child led him to become worse than a demon.
the scene sequence where mi lan sees everything for the first time, including mr. shen, was so well-directed. i'm glad they gave special care for such a significant moment.
also, lately there have been complaints about mr. shen. unsurprisingly, they are always about his appearance or age, never about his character. that tells you everything about the kind of people who are complaining
All I need to see in the tag is ''republican era'' to get interested. Also, its the same director from ''Goodbye, My Princess'', so surely it'll be good.
I really liked this drama. For the most part, it was ridiculous and cringey, but I think that's where its value lies. This is literally an example of the definition of a 'romcom'.
the teaser had 18k likes and the main trailer 31k on X. never seen that before for a kdrama, i think this is going to be top 3 most popular drama of the year for sure.

also, this drama is so good with flashbacks.

also, the rating needs to go up. this drama deserves way higher than 8.0
