Superb writing there. Such style only comes from experienced writers and those born with a natural talent in storytelling and worldbuilding.

I like how they showed suddenly developed Juran by contrasting her with the bully. Juran is a pessimist-realist while the bully turns out to be a positive-realist. When they showed how the bully sees Jeongnyeon, it showed a complete opposite of Juran.

Then later, at the last minute, they gave justice to Juran by revealing what the deeper, hidden, reason behind her decision. Her pessimist-realist "excuse" was only the surface to cover/hide her true reason.

That revelation placed the bully's positive-realist view of Jeongnyeon into a new light. Sure, she sees her differently, but at the end of the day, she's only using her to advance herself. Jeongnyeon's true friend in the end is still Juran.

Habin is innocent. Everyone will be surprised later how she started solving the mysteries a few years before the cases started.

No matter how good of a strategist, profiler, analyzer, she is, it's not possible to be a step ahead than her father who is far mire expienced than her. She started on this way before anyone, that's why she's always beating her father in the game.

She's not perfect. But she knows her craft well to be able to solve, by herself, the complications. Again, not possible if you just one day started doing it because an opportunity arose. No, she studied well, no doubt read her father's books. Practiced her way of thinking. And to remain calm and objective. After all, she's going to fool her father for as long as possible.

And that's the final clue, she understands her father will eventually caught up with her. Anyone who just got plunged into this will act like a god. But she did not. She analyzed things. She weighed her options. Carefully chose which action can benefit her most.

She's innocent. She's out to take revenge on who killed her "best friend", and it will be her first kill.

And her father finally caught up with her game. LOL. He probably realized now he's facing his clone. And no ordinary clone, a very dangerous one filled with hatred and mistrust. There's no question she can kill, especially since even her own father thinks she killed her brother. What they don't know, she's only abiut to get her first kill.

If her father can't stop her taking her first kill, she can end up becoming a serial killer or a head of a new notorious gang.

Lastly, she can still be saved. She's crying to her father the entire time but her father was so thick and full of himself, he can't see it. Now they're entering the final phase of the game, and since she's not yet a "master", she can potentially die. She hasn't surpassed her father, she just had a huge headstart. And she started to play with another chess player she thinks she can take on.

Can she? Maybe she'll surprise us yet again.

Now that the third player in their 3-way chess game revealed himself, it's clearer now.

Still, I love how those three players kept on one up'ing each other. 😂😂😂

Another incredible episode. They're too short, I'd love a 2-hour episode. I was so excited. But can someone explain…
Theatre plays are like that. You focus on the most popular ones as it is your masterpiece and where your actors excel, and well, it is what people loves.

You try a new story, see if the people will love it, hopefully one that can replace the current masterpiece. If that failed keep doing the masterpiece. Even the Greeks and Romans, and earlier, were doing that already. Even in Shakespeare's time.

But the problem is that, the seniors like Ok, they got stuck with their tried and tested interpretation of their characters. People responded well to those versions so they fell to the trap of repeating it, eventually forgetting to reinvent it.

This is where tde new 3 actors come in. To challenge the seniors to reignite their creativity. As Ok already noticed, those 3 girls kept on reinventing their characters, which is why the audiences are always on the edge. Especially true with Jeongnyeon, no matter where you place her, she brings a new dimension to the character.

Even today, theatre actors go through it. Once they find one where people react to, they'll keep repeating that formula. In the end, they become stagnant. It's a trap, and for sure they have a word for it.

For on-screen actors, it's actually the same, but harder to detect because they often have different projects, especially for Korean drama. Western drama usually have multiple seasons, so it's a bit easier to see. Anyway, for cultures where multiple seasons are not common, you'll usually detect it by analyzing the characters an actor plays. You find patterns. You find differences. The less there are, the more it points that the actor stopped growing. Same old formula, just a different character.

And this is the story of the show. Hence, they also kept repeating the theatre play in the hope that modern audiences will notice it. If they kept changing the play, it'll be harder for modern audiecnes to see what they're trying to say/show to us.

🙂

They are playing the same play again and again..That's why Ok Gyeong said it was boring..Imagine playing the same…
That's how theatre plays have always been in any country, since B.C. era. 😝

What she's referring to as "boring" is not because they're doing the same play over and over again, it was because the actors are always playing the exact same thing they already did instead of adding something new to their character.

A good thesis here is Shakespeare. They've played the plays over qnd over again with the same actors, but why was it that his plays were far more popular despite being a derivative of various other plays? His actors kept on adding flavour to their characters, and Shakespeare himself also encouraged them, even gave his inputs.

Scripts are nothing but guidelines. It is up to the actors on how to interpret and own their characters. The writers and directors can give a thousand suggestions, but if the actor's take of the character is two-dimensional, it will remain so.

In this show, they need those 3 new actors to challenge them because those 3 are bringing in a new colour to the characters. Not only that, those 3 new girls kept on reinventing their characters. By being challenged, it is Ok's hope that the seniors will find it again in their hearts to reinvent their characters instead of repeating the same two-dimensional interpretations that they got so used to.

why jooran is not in the poster eventhough she's considered as a main role? and davi wasn't in press conference…
In Korea, posters mean nothing as fas roles are concerned. There were even shows before where the actors in the poster turned out to have bordering main-support role in the end.

For them, posters are meant to attract the audience by showcasing the big name actors, those with huge followings already.

This is the type of show that you wish is longer because they acted well, the cinematography was awesome, and the editing was excellent. But at the same time, you'll realize that it was perfect because they planned it to be exactly as short as it is, they knew it won't be good if it is longer.

Good drama 👌🏻 but actually I didn’t like the ending 😹 All the kissing scenes are not necessary at all…
1. The are professional actors.
2. It's their choice if they'll have kissing scenes or whatever.

Wow! I haven't seen a show where there are three "main" characters who are very good with strategy, planning, and analytical skills. It's often two, 1 protagonist and 1 antagonist. But this one changed the dynamics, and created an excellent plot and surprising twists. LOL. It's like playing a 3-way chess, with the third opponent unknown until the last minute.

Good theory. But I don't think the writer is above surface level to think ""unification". Is Eunho/HAEri also…
Haha. I understand. 😅
On Dear Hyeri Oct 29, 2024
Title Dear Hyeri
What if Eunho is the one who actually disappeared? The one who took over was actually HAEri?

What if Eunho, in their shared diary, wrote that she's giving reigns over to HAEri on the condition that HAEri will live as Eunho by having her memories. During the time they took a "vacation leave", it was when Eunho and HAEri worked out how they can merged their memories and let HAEri take over.

So, in the end, both of them are "alive". Their personalities merged with HAEri in control. That is why she had a sudden 180° personality change. But because Eunho is also there, HAEri sometimes feel the negativity of Eunho. There are no two personalities inside her anymore, just one. HAEri is now Eunho, but the positivity of HAEri is the one that's in control.

It's no different from people without DID. There are pseudo-personalities in each of us, and often times, we battle between them. For example, I know my "evil", "demonic" side. It was only last year that I completely "erased" it. Prior to that, I was always tempted to let it out and be that person. It wasn't a DID personality because the times I let it out, I was in full control and making my own decisions. There are DID where other personalities are aware, but they don't have control, so mine was just "my evil side".

So, I'm thinking that HAEri is in control but since they merged themselves, HAEri understood that she is Eunho. As one personality, "they" kept the positivity of HAEri as "their" main attitude and character but kept "their" identity as Eunho because that's "them" any way. "They" resolved their differences. "They" made peace with each other which led to their unification.

Hmm… "unification". Is Eunho/HAEri also a symbolical representation of the 2 Koreas?

I hope they'll keep Ji Yeeun. There never was a single Running Man episode that I got bored since she joined. I love the character she's role-playing too and how she's acting it, it reminds me of my school years, especially Grade 9 and Grade 10. The good ol' days when we're all teenagers falling in love and teasing each other. Keep it up Yeeun, you revived Running Man!

The writer did When the Weather Is Fine, which was awesome. Please stick to 16-episode series for now. If they don't want to approve it, you have two choices:
1. Shelve it and pitch it later, or to someone else
2. Restart from scratch and get help on how to write for 12 episodes

It's so obvious this was meant to be longer. Otherwise, it's really your first time to write shorter stories.

The potential is there for this story. Maybe should've been a film instead, dedicated to people with DID, at least you can focus on the matter instead of adding that trash reporter character that don't add any value to the plot, just to meet the mimimum time per episode.

LOL. What happened to this show?

First, some North American OTT service made a mistake in Romanization.

Second, they made the FL write the shows's title on her diary with "Hyeri" written and immediately followid it with the Title Card where it's written as "Haeri". 🤣🤣 A very poor attempt in saving the face of whoever made a mistake in Romanization. LMAO.

They even switched the name/pronunciation to "Hyeri" but guess what? They're back to using "Haeri". 🤷🏽🤦🏽🙅🏽

Third, that was it? She suddenly got control over herself? HAEri disappeared just like that? And now she might suddenly return just as she suddenly disappeared?

I've talked to some people with DID and their experience is far from how DID was portrayed in this show. They should've gone for 16 episodes. I think choosing 12 episodes messed up the what would've been a great one.

Even in literature, it is hard to tell a short story. This story appears to be originally 16 episodes that was compressed to 12 after they submitted their final draft. Because of that, they had to cut off a lot and jump forward in time so many times, there's no longer any essence to the story.

Now, I'm only giving the benefit of the doubt that it was originally written for a 16-episode series. I don't want to think that this was rctually written with 12 episodes in mind. I mean, if it was, it won't be like this.

I'm sorry, it's just that there was potential but it was wasted. And that trash reporter, there was no need for that character. There are a thousand ways to get the ML into an accident without wasting screentime for.a character that adds zero value.

P.s. No issues with the actors.
