Sorry, just jotting down all the thoughts coming to my mind. After all, this was written by a real life divorce attorney, thus, we can't deny many of it were based on true to life stories and people--probably mixed-and-match to avoid getting sued. (You can't base a character or a story on an actual person or story, especially in her situation as a divorce attorney.)

That is keeping my brain overworking, trying to look at each character and plot under a microscope because I want to understand what's going on in the writer's mind; and in this particular case, what she is trying to convey or the lessons she is trying to give us.

And No. 4 is:

He indeed is clueless about his own feelings because of his family problems. It looks like there's a deep wound between him and his father. Something happened that made him oblivious to his own feelings.

Come to think of it, there are people like this in real life.

Maybe No. 3 is:

He does indeed like her, but he's holding himself back because of her father.

Re: No. 2

Some examples I can think of are:
a. his father shouldn't know it because… well… he will disown him out of rage.
b. it's going to destroy his father's reputation, so he chose to make the sacrifice to keep him being gay hidden
c. inheritance… although he doesn't appear to be that kind of person to care about it

Ujin's reactions during his lunch with Yuri is so hard to read.

He's either:
1. a straight man who can control himself, and doesn't fall with anyone just because; or
2. he's gay, that's why he's so sure there's nothing romantic, and he would prefer it to stay hidden (for whatever reason).

If it's No. 1, why can't people just accept that there are individuals of the opposite gender who wouldn't sleep together, not even romantically like each other, just because? Why is so society always assuming something is going on. Duh.

If it's No. 2, I don't know where to begin. It's going to be bad for Ujin, there's more likely a very good reason why he's keeping it quiet. At the same time, it's going to be a funny. HOWEVER, this is cliché and far too easy. YET we've seen how the show cuts to the chase and surprise us with something not expected… so…

No. 1 or No. 2?

Or, you have a No. 3 and No. 4?

Well, I'm sure they want to paint him as a greedy man who wants only his blood-related son to inherit the foundation.…
Ooh, yeah, the hospital and the foundation.

That's a good one. We were led to believe that he's a good father, husband, and person. But deep inside… he still is greedy and easily succumbs to his personal biases.

Ironically, everyone is siding with him because of that image, without them knowing he's like most people who wants to keep their riches and positions within their line.

LOL. Like in real life, we have to be careful who we trust; the most dangerous ones are those who keep a very good and positive image. ^^;;

As of this post, the schedule adjustment submitted by another editor was incorrect.

As per the official website: https://program.imbc.com/BBS/ThebraveYongSujeong?list_id=2639639&list_use=3&page=1&bbs_id=YongSujeong_board it starts on July 29. July 29 episode is E61.

I already submitted the corrected schedule, so this post is just a notification to save you from going through the trouble (it's a pain-in-the-ass to update episode schedules, you have to do it manually each episode and select the correct reason).

I don't understand what is the play of Hyun Sung's father. Is he seriously jealous of his wife's first child? I mean, instead of being happy and helping his wife, he wants to find him so he can hide him? To the point that he's painting his wife as mentally sick?

What will he gain in hiding his wife's first son? By finding him, he will actually gain more favour in his wife's eyes and fixing their broken marriage and family.

This plot is so weird.

Series pre-empted by Paris Olympics.Episode 6 scheduled to broadcast on August 16.
It's a welcome delay. That means we can enjoy the show “longer”, and other shows scheduled after this one, are pushed back as well. ^_~

We don't want all good shows premiering and ending early. Hahahaha.

The writer of this show is doing what is generally discouraged in screenwriting for daily 30 min. episodes:High…
Compare this with other series with a similar format, for example, SuJi and URi

High > low > High > low > High > low > HIgh

Or

High > low > High > High > low > low > High

That's the common advise in scriptwriting for this particular format.

* First reason is, it is easier to end it on a high note.
* Second reason is, you definitely do not want to bring your audience into a deep dive of negative emotions. It gets heavier, and it affects people negatively… especially in this case where the target audience are those who loves to chitchat.

Right now, all I'm getting from this show is complete and utter hatred and intense anger.
On The Brave Yong Su Jeong Jul 27, 2024
The writer of this show is doing what is generally discouraged in screenwriting for daily 30 min. episodes:

High > low > very long low > keep the story going lower > and lower even more > dug 100 feet deep > dug another 1000 feet > then go back high.

They're going to have a major problem getting back on the “high” part now that they dug the story in the bottomless pit. We're already at the half-way mark of the series, and it still ended in the bottomless pit, with no sign of it starting to get back up up.

The only way they can end this with a bang is with the following:
1. Elder brother goes to prison
2. FL hates the elder brother / ex-boyfriend
3. 2FL goes to prison
4. Mother of 2FL goes to prison
5. Step-mom of elder brother goes to prison
6. The double standards Chairwoman goes to prison
7. The Chairwoman's group of companies goes down the drain… not sold… totally closed
8. The younger brother gets all the liquidated assets.
9. Real biological mother regains her memories
10. Bro gets married with Bro… I mean, ,1FL. And they lived happily ever after.

Skip one of those, it's not a “bang” of an ending.

---

Summary:

The only way they can end this on a high note is if the Masung Group closes down; and all the members of the family goes to prison, while the Chairwoman watches everything goes into flame. With the EJ and SJ getting married, and as compensation, all the Masung assetss are transferred to them and they ditch the Chairwoman's family forever.

Im Jueun's acting in E56 was not good. Was this her first time acting “scared”, “shocked”, “traumatic”? Or, she just have the face that doesn't fit the role?

She can do angry, biatch, worried, crying, but not the ones above.

no definitely nt in yuri's situation... dramas show boss and co workers are close but irl everyone mind their…
^ This.

To add:

1. 99% of the time (guesstimate), superior-subordinate relationships have a huge gap.

2. People don't generally care about someone else's situation, especially if it is too personal, like cheating. The best approach is to tell it through their best friend or anyone within their circle that is not a family member. (You also don't tell it to a family member. ^_~ )

3. Speaking of too personal, especially cheating, practically everyone wants to stay away from it. No one naturally wants to get involved in it; and people would rather whisper instead of tell the person. This is especially true in a work environment, and if you're a newbie in that company. Your job first before someone else's problems.

The only reason the 2FL did that is because her character is, as was repeatedly said in E03, a person who have a strong send of justice, even though at times it's applied at the wrong time and wrong cases. Because, in real life, there really are people like that. Their strong sense of justice makes them do things most people wouldn't.

It is the only justification why the 2FL told her superior. Her strong sense of justice is forcing her to do things most people won't. It bothers her so much. And yes, there really are people like that.

That said, would I tell?

Nope. I wouldn't tell.

While I have a sense of justice, it's not at that level where I'll insert myself in someone else's problems. I'm not saying I never did that before; nor am I saying I will never do it. Just that, in this particular scenario, I will not do anything because (1) I'm a new employee; and (2) they are my superior. I have very little information, or grasp, of the situation.

The 2FL didn't even bother to gather more information, so in the end, she looked bad because her superior was fully aware. To make it worse, instead of apologizing, she defended herself by subtly accusing her superior that she's doing things wrong. Luckily for her, her superior is an expert in listening so, she replied back in the same way the 2FL did… using her analogy about garbage. It could've turned ugly at that point.

And the other characters, I'm suspecting they also have an idea, just that, no one is talking about it, not even in whispers. Who would when the Attorney Cha is the Nation's Divorce Expert?

^_^
