It easy to blame HS but Suji needs to be strictly straightforward and say fuck off. First of all, she is not a…
I doubt anyone overlooked her shortcomings because it was very obvious since E01.
It is also not easy to blame HS, especially since they introduced him as the ex-boyfriend where they had a misunderstanding of each other that led to the break up.
If you already knew Suji's shortcomings, and the issues she have, then there's nothing to say about it. And then here comes the boyfriend showing his true colours.
They were a good match during their school days. You've forgotten that after their misunderstanding, which led to breaking up, they each had to deal with the pain and disappointment. For Suji, she moved on. For HS, he did not, or at least, that “love” of his morphed into something else, an obsession.
Suji agreed to rekindle their relationship because she still has lingering feelings for him, and she felt bad because of their misunderstanding. But the most important reason, Suji wants to give it another try, that maybe, just maybe, they indeed can rekindle their love for each other that way it used to be.
Unfortunately for her, the Na Young drama started at the same time.
No. No one is blaming HS just because it was easy to blame him. At the same time, no one overlooked Suji's shortcomings. It is because of her shortcomings that people are empathising with her more than HS. And it was because of HS's love morphing into obsession, and it clearly shows with the way he acts, make decisions, and the words that come out of his mouth, that people are hating him so much.
We actually don’t know why the name was changed, but I’m assuming is to hide away from her mom.
> The Writer ought to do a better job in explaining the reasons for the family to move overseas and the change of SJ's name.
It will be explained in due time. Just be patient, and refrain from comments like “do a better job”. You don't drop every single information just because you can, that's very poor writing.
If you really want to tell the writer to “do a better job”, then it should be, at least in this story, more on making their relationships clearer. For example, another on-going daily drama explained the relationships of the characters clearer in the first 5 episodes.
So, yeah, if there's an improvement needed, it's that part, relationships. Not the reason behind moving overseas, it's best to explain that in the latter episodes where it makes more logical sense.
This serie seems very interesting, but I tend to lose interest in series with a lot of episodes. Is it worth it…
It is worth it.
Daily “family” drama format have a weekly theme. It progresses from that. Also, it's often between 20-30 minutes long. So, a 5-day episode per week can be considered as 2 episodes per week that are 75 minutes long each.
What you can do is, watch the weekly episodes every Saturday or Sunday, so you can watch it in one sitting.
Unfortunately, this series is off by 1 episode because there was one Friday night when it didn't air (not sure what the reason was). So, the theme is kinda off the mark since then.
If you want to stick to the weekly theme, then watch it Tuesday or Wednesday, so that you can watch the 5 episodes together.
For example, we're currently in the E31-35 theme. But E35 will air Monday night. So, watch E31-35 Tuesday or later.
Sadly, I have seen this a lot lately. Like dramas marked with romance, but in the end nothing happened. Maybe…
* Korean title: 종말의 바보 (Jongmarui Babo), lit. Doomsday Fool. * Japanese title: 終末のフール (Shumatsu no Furu), lit. The Last-minute Fool.
The original Japanese material chose “The Fool at the End of the World” as its official English title, since it's the best fit with the story. And the Korean adaptation's title also reflects both the original Japanese title and the official English title.
If “fool” seems inappropriate, they could've chosen something like “crazy” (although that sounds like comedic).
Actually, “The Crazy Fool” would've been better, while in the background, there's a burning asteroid that just entered the atmosphere. It sends the message that there is this character acting like a fool while the world is about to burn.
Instead of “Goodbye Earth” which sends the message that the world is facing doomsday, and is trying to save it, with a focus on global unity and efforts.
Wow. I love that house of the FL. It gives a very peaceful ambiance. Very natural, wooden, not too much on modern stuff. A very good balance for our soul.
Sadly, I have seen this a lot lately. Like dramas marked with romance, but in the end nothing happened. Maybe…
Yep! It's why I usually ignore those tags and categorisations. It's just going to set expectations.
Unfortunately, for this show, those marketing Netflix did were so effective, not even I can get it out of my head = massive disappointment. I wish I knew the original material first so I could've easily rejected Netflix's English title and marketing, in my mind.
Alas, that wasn't the case. My mind just kept on, “maybe they'll launch the remaining nukes to divert it” and all those sci-fi expectations.
*sigh*
The cast did well. The production was good. But, expectations matter a lot. It would have been better if Netflix did not do any marketing, that way there won't be any expectation other than our personal assumptions.
yup! I think she's starting to realize her true feelings towards Hyunsung
SuJi is also starting to see the difference between the two guys, thus, making her doubt her own feelings. But, because of the Na Young drama, she can't fully commit in looking at herself yet.
Meanwhile, that jerk Hyun Sung, is taking advantage of her situation to get what he wants. Even sugarcoating it as “so I can protect her”. LOL. Bullocks.
He can't even protect her already, how much more when they're married? His version of protection is, “just be a housewife, I'll do all the work for you”.
A man like Hyun Sung, who is standing on two boats, should never be trusted with anything. They make decisions based on themselves. “How can I go about this while keeping my interests as the priority?” If he showed publicly that he sides with SuJi, he'll be terminated as well, and his reputation will be tarnished. If he side with his father, it will be obvious he can't protect SuJi. So, just don't do anything, and sugarcoat it.
Also, it clearly shows that he is doubting SuJi's integrity. He is far worse than those politicians who will protect their family even if they commit a crime. How can you doubt the integrity of the person you love? Do you even love the person in the first place? And then later forcing her to marry him? LOL. He's completely nuts.
Hyun Sung and Na Young are a perfect match, they should marry each other instead.
Hyun Sung is really sneakythis guy got rejected and he decided to go behind her back and tell her parents and…
Yep. That was very rude of him and showed how he only thinks of himself. His own words is also betraying him, he doesn't hear himself, or refusing to hear himself.
SuJi should stay away from that family, they're demons, sucking her dry, until she dies a slow death.
Hyun Sung's father will be happier if Hyun Sung married Na Young.
This has nothing to do with culture anymore. It is about being human or an animal. No. Being human or a demon. Hyun Sung, his father, are demons. At least Na Young can still get a get-out-f-jail card because of her psychiatric condition(s). But Hyun Sung and his father?
Hyun Sung is saying all the wrong things. Can he even hear himself? Does he even have a brain?
I no longer know how to describe him. He is full of contradictions. What did he even study abroad? To be an arse? Or, what wrong things to say to your girlfriend? ROFLOL!
And protect her? Seriously? He can't even do that! His feet are standing on two boats! This is why in the 5th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons, “True Neutral” was renamed “Undecided”, because the more you analyse it, the more obvious that there is no such thing as “True Neutral”, the person is simply “Undecided”.
Uji is far better than him.
And LOL. He even rushed to SuJi's family, and even admitted he'll force SuJi to marry him. What the F is wrong with Hyun Sung? He's a total arse. He can go marry Na Young, they're a perfect match.
I hope she starts winning some of the battles that soon. I put this series on pause because I really hope it's…
> I always get mad and stop watching. I guess that means they are good because I get so pissed. 😂😂
Yep. hahaha. The writer and actors really caught your emotions. :p
I totally agree, it is hard to watch. The only way I can stand it is, I keep on thinking she's going to get back up better and more successful, and everyone who doubted her, including her boyfriend's father, and especially her step sister, will fall very hard.
Hyun Sung is a bad boyfriend. If he truly cares about her, he wouldn't alienate her from her co-workers and friends, not even someone who could be his rival.
His insecurity is so high, he can't see that he's actually hurting her. In the first place, he's the boyfriend, he already “won”. He has serious trust issues if he needs to keep Uri away. No, not trust issues against Uri, trust issues with Suji. He can't trust her that she'll only love him.
If only he wasn't so insecure, he would have known there's another video and could have addressed it together. They can even join forces to help Suji and protect her.
Some men and their foolish insecurities and trust issues.

Maybe even the editor likes her. They used a lot of close up shots for the final cut. Hahahaha.
