Lol how did frank survived? I theorized for "that kind" of ability burning with fire would be the possible solution.…
Someone removed him from eventually so he regenerated.
In this universe, anyone with regeneration abilities can only be truly killed if they are decapitated. Otherwise, once the object stuck in their brain is removed, they'll just regenerate.
This is actually an old trope in fiction. There are other stories before this (yes, even before the Webtoon version) that used this type of regeneration rules.
They stopped functioning if the foreign object lodged in their brains are not removed. But once it's gone and their heads are still connected with their bodies, they'll regenerate again, and again, and again.
I was actually more surprised when Frank did not show up after that scene and was a bit disappointed because if he truly died that way, then he doesn't possess an equal level of regeneration, which means, he's a third or fourth generation mutant.
so the real monster was the human who mostly sat behind his desk and ordered people around.
Yep.
It's actually very meaningful because it happens in real life.
You know, the people behind the President or Prime Minister. And anyone else pulling the strings behind-the-scenes that the public have no idea about, or dismissing as conspiracy theories.
Humans are humans. Even criminals have a heart for their own parents and children. Only a pure psychopath doesn't have a heart for anyone (probably not even for themselves).
We may have political differences. We may have been, allow me to use, "brainwashed" by whatever ideology, but at the end of the day, humans will be humans.
And only the true psychopaths, the truly twisted people, like those two behind their desks, who would sacrifice their fellow human beings.
They think they're doing it for their nations, for their countrymen, but it's just a justification so they won't feel bad with their decisions. Otherwise, they'll probably get disgusted with themselves.
P.S. If anyone agrees with those two characters behind their desks in the show, I'm sorry I that disagree. I understand nationalism and patriotism, but I don't see any nationalism and patriotism in what those two did. And… kids!
Is it just me or anyone else thinks that ending was little bit meh. I mean after all all this build up and what…
Hmm, not sure. For me, it was just right because there is potential for Season 2, and ending shows on a very high note might backfire if the next season is not given the green light.
Usually, a Season that ends on a high note or cliffhanger is one wherein Season 2 was already given a go. But in K-drama land, they don't order for a new season immediately. Typically they wait until the current season ends airing.
Because of that, it's better to end it in a little toned down so as not to disappoint the viewers IF ever there won't be a new season.
Like we have so much more to cover!!! Ellias? The girl who faked her death ( cancer) like I cannot wait for the…
Exactly!
They should capitalise on the very positive feedback about the show and not let it go to waste. They should also time it well for Season 2 and avoid other shows that can potentially match them.
LOL. Good luck with their marketing and planning team. I hope they are already in the editing stage for S2.
I'm going to miss Kim so Hyun as Sol Hee. She did a great job in portraying the-girl-next-door then turned very cute and lovely girlfriend. I wonder, is she like that in real life? She sure knows how to deliver it. ^_~
because the roll out has been a mess. it first rolled out only in Korea with no subs. then to a few more countries…
Long reply, but I only this: it has been how the industry is since anyone of us were born, and I was born in the early 80s. If you are saying otherwise, then you were born in the 2000s. Welcome to the real life and learn to live with it.
If you can't, if you want to whine about it, you only have two solutions before you: 1. Establish your own production company; or 2. Buy controlling shares so you can do whatever you want.
You know, like Elon Musk.
But, like Elon Musk, you'll be surprised how things are actually ran.
because the roll out has been a mess. it first rolled out only in Korea with no subs. then to a few more countries…
Regardless, this is NOT new at all, so I don't know why people are calling it "a mess" and whatever. This is how the industry has been since before anyone of us were born.

A one-week delay was annoying as hell and prevented anyone from enjoying it?
It is a Korean show, they deserve to have all the rights to "enjoy" it first. Most people are watching from illegal streaming sites anyway. It's not like 50% of the International audience are watching "officially". So, just wait and enjoy it whenever you can.
It is no different from watching Western shows and movies. There is always a delay, and oftentimes, we don't get the shows. People should be thankful they even bothered to release it in an International OTT service even though they know not even half of their international audience will watch it officailly.
And besides, let's not lie to ourselves, if they decided not to license it to an International OTT service, there will be fansubs sooner or later.
It was a one-week delay only. LOL. If they decided not to license it for International audiences, it would take more than a week delay to get quality fansubs.
Lovely. This is why I support the "Public Domain" movement (and CC-BY and CC-BY-SA as well), it gives writers the freedom to create new stories based on characters we are already familiar with. It gives us the "legal right" to present the "what-ifs" and let other people enjoy the adaptations.
because the roll out has been a mess. it first rolled out only in Korea with no subs. then to a few more countries…
LOL. It was not "a mess". It according to plan and agreements.
You see, there is what you call licensing deals and marketing.
If you know success is guaranteed, the best move are: 1. Delay the International release 2. Get as much money from Licensing deals
They actually perfectly timed it. Here's why: a. They announced at the right time when the International release will air. b. Because of that, no one bothered releasing a fansub for the first two episodes. c. It created more buzz and excitement, locally and in some countries they specifically targeted (because they know they'll get more from those countries than other countries).
It all went according to plan and expectations. It was not a mess.
It depends on what is the message the writer and director wants to send.
You see, in the majority of Asian families, this is normal. It is tradition. It is expected for children, and they're expected to pass it on. What was shown so far is still nothing compared to what actually happens in real life.
If the writer and director wants to send the message that the new generation should “walk out on their family”, then they'll probably show that early. But they will have to tackle the advantages and disadvantages of turning your back on them. Not just the fallout, but also the impact on the person themselves.
If they want to portray how important your family is, then she either will not turn her back on them or after doing so she will come back and ask for their forgiveness.
You have to remember to view it in the lens of a Korean, their culture, values, and modern society. If you are a Filipino, you'll definitely understand and relate to the show because ironically, Korean and Filipino culture and traditions have a lot of parallels and overlaps when it comes to family (and hierarchy).
Non-Asians, or in this case, non-Koreans who doesn't have a similar culture, just don't see it and assume it is "fiction". But, stories like this are usually inspired by real life stories. A good writer can turn a true-to-life story into fiction, without anyone realising the truth behind it.
Or, maybe the writer coincidentally depicted something that is actually common and haven't realised it. Then again, almsot all writers were inspired of something. ;)
So, yeah, it depends on what lesson and message they want to send to the audience.
Clearly this writer have been watching too much Fast and Furious and take the meaning of 'family' too far! No…
You don't need to watch "too much" FF to know and understand that there are families wherein one or two children carries their family on their back.
^_^
It's actually normal if you are Asian, especially an Asian from Asia-Pacific (ASEAN + CJK).
> It's going to be 30 episodes of seeing Hyo Shim struggle, cry, be exhausted, chased by a loan shark, embarrassed and shamed down while seeing misogyny at it's finest on full display. I can't, I'll check this out again in 8 episodes to see if I've been proven wrong or of there has been any improvement...
At least it's only 30 episodes. In real life, most will take it to their grave and pass it on.
And it is very, very, very, hard to get out of that trap.
In this universe, anyone with regeneration abilities can only be truly killed if they are decapitated. Otherwise, once the object stuck in their brain is removed, they'll just regenerate.

I wonder if the story (at least from the synopsis) also resonated with her. Hmm.....

EPIC way to end Chapter 1 of the show. (Ch.1 = episode 1-4; Ch.2 = 5-8; Ch.3 = 9-12)
Oh, and never underestimate the power of religion.
Now, everyone is a suspect.
A serial killer with that much patience and cunning is a very dangerous person.
