I don't get his reason for being involved and doing that to some innocent people. Is he just a rich entitled psychotic…
If you remove the fact that K considers Grandpa a threat, then nothing makes sense why K used Da Mi. Simply claiming that K is a psychopath or trying to cover up Mo Na's pregnancy practically removes the essence of the show. This is why in Korea, they see this show as nothing but violence, and are calling for its immediate cancellation. They are missing the connections.
Obviously, Grandpa is afraid of K, LOL. But it doesn't mean K is not considering Grandpa as a threat. K, as a manipulative person, understands full well that his show of power won't keep Grandpa at bay. Sooner or later, he will do something.
Secondly, K obviously want the assets of Grandpa and anything else he gave him, he wants to take it back.
Imperial Japan struck Pearl Harbour because they understood full well that the US base in Hawaii is a threat to their ambition of dominance. However, they miscalculated.
In the same way that K struck Grandpa through his granddaughter because he knew Grandpa is a threat to his ambitions. However, like Imperial Japan, K miscalculated. Grandpa, like the US, got angry and declared a war.
K, like Imperial Japan, pushed the wrong button. Just as Imperial Japan's ambitions were crushed by the US; K will go down because of the weapon Grandpa made in Matthew Lee, his intense revenge.
I don't get his reason for being involved and doing that to some innocent people. Is he just a rich entitled psychotic…
You can check my previous comments.
Basically, K is a person who wants to be at the top. Controlling and manipulating things the way he wants. He finds enjoyment and satisfaction in using people and directing events like a puppet master.
However, he is also afraid of his father (as hinted in Ep.09).
His objective since Ep.01 has been to bring down Grandpa. He knew Grandpa is a threat. It was hinted with the way they shot the scene when Grandpa acquired the right to own the land he wanted. K despises him. He sees Grandpa as a threat. And he will take it all from him.
Then Da Mi came to the scene when she was taken back by her birth mother. That gave K a great opportunity.
He got Mo Ne pregnant. He knew Mo Ne well, and Mo Ne did exactly what K expected, blame Da Mi.
Which led to Da Mi going to the Center which is controlled by K.
Basically, Grandpa "offered" Da Mi to K so K can used her to bring down Grandpa.
Which Grandpa later realised. Grandpa knew there's only one person who can manipulate everyone as if they're puppets, K.
So Grandpa started to move when he survived the fall from the bridge. He realized he's vulnerable, so he got Matthew involved and gave him all his money.
And well, I think you can piece the rest together.
* The center is under the purview of K. * Grandpa is scared of K. * K wanted to destroy Grandpa (it was actually hinted in Ep.01 or 02). * K planned everything. So he can destroy Grandpa without it leading back to him. * Unfortunately, K did not expect Grandpa will survive; then use Matthew as his revenge. * Even the pregnancy of Mo Ne was more likely planned by K.
Yeah. You definitely need someone like Matthew to fight back K. Strategist and manipulator vs. strategist and manipulator.
Or, maybe not, since the story is about the two time travelers. "Master" is just a plot device, a character made to ensure the protagonists are guided to a desirable direction and solution.
It seems like the 'k guy' knows a lot and might be controlling things, maybe he is also connected to dami in someway…
That's true. But the golden rule in a competitive environment, especially if you have nefarious reasons, is to never ever underestimate and trust anyone.
When money is involved, there are no loyalties. A person bowing to you can become your enemy.
Grandpa is bowing because it was the best option. However, it doesn't mean grandpa is not capable, will never be a threat. Which grandpa has proven.
K is remaining elusive because he is aware of the golden rule. He is always steps ahead than everyone. K wouldn't be where he is today if he blindly trusts people just because they are bowing to him.
Can I just thank everyone for remembering to wrap stuff in Spoiler alerts? :-) I'm halfway through Ep. 9, and…
If you're delayed in watching, just don't read comments and reviews.
It's what I do if I'm delayed. ^_^
If I do decide to read, I fully understand I will encounter spoilers, and I only have myself to blame for that.
It's hard to implement "spoiler" tags when the voluntary moderators are not strictly implementing it.
For example, in some groups, like Star Trek, it is a golden rule to only have one thread, or hide behind spoiler tags, whenever there is a new episode - for 1 whole week.
After that, the moderators will announce "Spoiler for this episode has been lifted" because 1 week passed already.
Again, that's because we have active volunteer moderators and they strictly implement the spoiler rules.
Look at the Chinese shows here on MDL. They're strict there. But Korean shows in MDL is free-for-all.
I saw many people saying it's better than S1 but for me S1 was more better as the story felt so natural and here…
For me, it's weird that people are comparing the two shows. We've known their family line split, and we've been curious what happened to the other branch.
It would definitely be boring if the other branch has the same story as the Strong Woman branch of the family. For me, I'm happy the Strong Girl branch is different.
They even made it very interesting by adding something that wasn't in the Strong Woman story: they can have other abilities.
Not to mention, the Strong Girl branch is very mindful of their actions. Somehow, they find a way around the rule not to use their power for bad stuff. So, even though grandma flipped over the car of that guy, she retains her power because she found a reason why she had to do it.
Which, by itself, is another rule that was not obvious in Strong Woman story. As long as they have a good reason why they have to use their abilities, it is fine.
Another good thing about Strong Girl branch of the family, they are pretty much open about it. in the Strong Woman story, their branch decided to keep it a secret because they were burned by it. They were used. They had a bad experience.
The reverse happened with the Strong Girl branch, it appears their branch had a good experience, so they did not develop some fear about letting others know about their abilities.
The contrast between these two stories are so matched that we are starting to get a picture of how different the two branches are.
(LOL. I suddenly remembered grandma was mentioned in Strong Woman. Hahaha.)
Another good thing, in Episode 03 of Strong Girl, the cameo established new facts. Life has changed for Strong Woman, she's more open about it now, like the Strong Girl branch. She probably learned a lot from grandma too on how to ensure her power remains. Like the loopholes. (Think, flipping the car even though it was for a personal reason.)
The writer is building a very interesting world of "Soon" women.
Why they decided to cut her hair,? she looks so beautiful innocent and cute with her long and tressed hair! 😢…
True. But I guess they have to make her look more mature and more classy. It's not easy to do that when the long hair already made a very strong impression.
Still, she's doing well even with a short hair. For me, it's her face and expressions.

I can't wait for S03 "Strong Kids" ahahaha. Going to be very exciting. Maybe they'll be around early teens when the story starts.
I hope the Momo Tribe appears at least in the finale episode, helping them end the tyranny of Arthdal.
They should bring back Karata Erika. Haha

Hah. Since Strong Girl is a guaranteed success, and everyone waited for her cameo, they're probably working on the script for Strong Kids. Woot!
For sure one of the children of Strong Woman is a daughter.
Although I'm suspecting two daughters, with additional powers.
Hahaha.
Probably Strong Kids something-Soon. Or, Strong Kid Soons.

It can't be K, since Matthew only learned about his existence after.
Then K played everything.
I think K knows the grandpa is his stiffest competitor.
But K is not all-knowing, Lee Hwi So was a total unknown. Who would've known he will turn himself into a computer genius and create an elaborate plan?
This piqued K's attention so he returned to South Korea and started inserting himself in Matthew Lee's little game.
By killing the grandpa, K just showed he still has the upper hand. He sort of tested how good Matthew is. He tested the weakness of Matthew.
Now, K is ready to fight head on against Matthew.
