Her character was 35 years old here and she's 40 .. so yeah they made her 5 years younger.
Sure, but the point I was making is that they made her look 20 years old. ;)

Wow. What a very touching first episode.
I love his reply there, “I'm sad because I can play music, and they can't” instead of saying, “I'm sad because they can't hear (my) music”.

Huge difference in meaning, and speaks volume to the mindset of the character.

Han Ji Min here is totally different from her previous works. I can't even recognize her, not even in their BTS bloopers. They made her look 20 years younger and she acted like one.

I can't imagine it was her in "Our Blues" and "Hyde, Jekyll, Me", to mention two.

She's great, and her stylist is the best as well.

Basically, it's Rurouni Kenshin the Joseon version.

I wonder who will win, Himura Kenshin or Yi Nan?

So quantum computer wants to destroy mankind by watching Yaya in the loop, but she was only "exposed" to the 550W…
My pleasure. ^_^

While, yes, there are propaganda in the films, which quite frankly the West did first and is still doing to this day, beyond the propaganda the film raised good questions.

I think what we should look for is, how can we achieve a good balance between authoritarian communism and electoral democracy.

Where did you even get that info? The counter says 3 days.
Don't ever rely on the countdown timer here on MDL. LOL. It is manually edited by volunteers, not by official sources.

What? 😭 Rating is one thing, we don't have to care about that much, but the waiting will be terrible, if this…
LOL. You are speculating too much. Never forget, sports is a big thing in Korea, far more important than fiction. And TV/Cable networks fight to get the rights to broadcast live sports events because it gives them more revenue than fiction.

So, I'm not so sure where you are getting your speculation from when the country of origin are more excited about sports more than dramas.

Let's put it this way.

TV/Cable networks with dramas at the same slot as the sports, especially if Korea have matches, doesn't get much viewership because majority of the population are glued watching sports. So much so that those networks who failed to get the rights to broadcast live will try to create "live news" just to get some pie of viewership.

This isn't the West where you have ten channels dedicated for sports like ESPN and other sports channels. Dedicated sports channels are not a thing here in Asia-Pacific. This is why TV/Cable networks fight to get the exclusive rights to broadcast live the events where their own team have matches because it's guaranteed you'll get no less than 80% of viewership nationally.

It's business. And you'll rake in far more money from it.

LOL. Even here in the Philippines, that is the case, and we only care about boxing and basketball. How much more Korea where everyone is very supportive of their delegation regardless of sports?

People are very angry at the chatroom now..seemed like it was planned by SBS. Don't know what they are thinking
It's simple. Sports game gives them more revenue.

Also, sports is more important in Korea than fiction.

it cancelled for Asian Game
If the show did not air locally, then the OTT services cannot release it.

It has nothing to do if they are lazy. And it doesn't matter if the other shows aired. If the time slot for the show was reassigned for other shows, then the airing is delayed and no legal / official streaming services can release that episode.

This show is an SBS show, meaning, if it did not air on SBS's channel, then no streaming services can release the episode. They will pay millions of US dollars if they violate their licensing agreement.

so, can you watch this without watching the first movie?
Yes and no.

"No" because the ending of TWE2 can only be understood if you've watched TWE1.

"Yes" because it's better to watch TWE2 first before watching TWE2.

So quantum computer wants to destroy mankind by watching Yaya in the loop, but she was only "exposed" to the 550W…
"MOSS" was already sentient. It was not the one who sent the first two warnings the Chinese delegates mentioned in a meeting, but it was involved in the latter ones.

The letter code in the 550 series is simply the generation of it. By retaining the "550" it hints that it is the same code, just an improved model. In other words, 550W has all the data and knowledge of its predecessors, and MOSS learned from Yaya when Yaya was first plugged into 550A. I assume here that 550A was the first sentient version of it when Yaya was plugged.

From there, when the latter 550s were released, it gained more knowledge and capabilities, and thus, was able to plan the "disasters" in its desire to understand human beings.

Like a little child.

By 550W, or "MOSS", it reached the conclusion that the current humanity cannot be trusted and has to be wiped out. -- This is the story of "The Wandering Earth 1" where MOSS finally implemented the plan to destroy Earth by plunging it to Jupiter.

You have had to watched TWE1 to understand the ending of TWE2. In TWE1 MOSS turned the Navigator ISS into an ark where all the biological and technological "fingerprints" of humanity and Earth are stored. The best way for that new generation of humanity to be pristine is to destroy Earth. And that's the only way to save humanity as a species.

Otherwise, humanity will just keep on going what it does best: politics, war, mistrust.

MOSS realised there needs to be a great reset because humanity cannot let go of its past, present, and future.

Past = national grudges
Present = revenge plans and wars
Future = our race/nation must be the sole superpower

A vicious cycle that we cannot deny even to this today. For example, the European Union, deep down to its core, has its fundamentals in the Roman Empire (past). In the present, the EU is being led by Germany at its core (the modern "Holy Roman Empire", like it or not). It envisions itself as the future of humanity where they are the superior race and sole superpower.

China. Its past is about the four dragons (North Sea, West, Sea, East Sea (a.k.a. East China Sea), and South Sea (a.k.a. South China Sea) + the Dragon Emperor who controls these 4 Dragons (or Seas). Its present is, well, we all know what it is doing. Its future is seeing itself in full control of all the 4 seas and restoring the power of the Dragon Emperor and a feared superpower, with the Asia-Pacific under its wings against Western influences.

People today dismiss these things as "fake news" or conspiracy theories. But in real school of thoughts, you do study the history of a nation to understand its present and why it is acting that way, and to have an idea or prediction of its aspirations for its future.

Today, people just assume China is just acting like a 6 year old kid. Not at all. Its foundation is its past, that is what's controlling it in the present, so it can achieve its future.

In the same way that the European Union (with Germany at its helm), and Russia, are doing exactly the same thing because their past is the Roman Empire (or in Russia's case, the Czars and the USSR). Which defines their respective present form, so it can achieve its aspirations for their future.

MOSS realised this. The obsession of mankind with its past, present, and future, is what is causing the endless mistrust, wars, and disunity. To the point that, we cannot even unite to save our one single planet.

Which is what is exactly happening today.

This is soooo funny in Tagalog dub by Viu Philippines. Whoever did the translation knows how to translate the funny lines from the original Korean into Tagalog that makes more sense.

The dubbers were awesome too because the way one delivers the lines also affects how funny it can be.

Ep 04
I think it is K, and K is the same mysterious guy that Da Mi's grandfather can't touch either.

The question is, why is he pulling the strings this way. It is as if he has a lifelong grudge against the 7 and Da Mi just happened to be the perfect pressure point.

Da Mi was probably not supposed to be there. But because Mo Ne was so stupid, she inadvertently placed Da Mi in the best position for K's revenge to begin.

Da Mi went to the Teen Center which happens to be under K's control. They kidnapped her to make sure she won't foil their plans because Da Mi doesn't have any sense of strategy and planning.

K giving condolence money seems to be that it was not part of the plan. He's only after the 7, but he can't predict their moves. So, he gave condolence money.

Da Mi's adoptive father was used as a chess pawn. And to ensure he is safe, the prison is the best place for him. And he has a protector inside the prison, which is probably under K's order.

Da Mi is somewhere safe, drugged to stay under a coma. While K goes on to “punish” the 7.

Theory #2:
The Teen Center is under K's control. K got interested in her because of her connections. K probably hates injustice and took on Da Mi's case.

Since the last time we saw Da Mi she said she wants them all to suffer the way they made her suffer, with all the backstabbing and blackmailing, K is doing Da Mi's request.

K, meanwhile, enjoys pulling the strings.

Da Mi's father, the best way to protect him is to keep him inside prison. Da Mi is somewhere safe. Da Mi's mother was unexpected. Or, maybe, she's alive somewhere, too.

The difference with Theory #1 is that here, K doesn't have a grudge on the 7. Instead, he is like a demon who brings justice to teen victims. The 7 is Da Mi's revenge, K is simply the judge, jury, and executor.
