* Whenever they show the past, it was Fall season. * And whenever they show the present with Kokdu's power raging, it is snowing.
Fall season represents the fall of Kokdu. It was the fall of what could have been the Morning in their relationship.
The season ended. They are now in Winter season.
It was not only just because Kokdu is Death personified. You know, cold, and a lifeless body is also cold. It also represents the season of their relationship.
We are now witnessing how they go through the Winter of their relationship. Not only the coldness between them, but also the darkness surrounding them. Winter is when nighttime is the longest until the next equinox in March (the beginning of Spring).
Once they remove conquer the darkness surrounding them, and once they rekindle their Love, they will be able to finally see the Light and start to feel the warmth.
* That is the beginning of Spring. * Love = Warm. * Spring = New beginnings.
Real life, and real relationships, are like the seasons.
1. We begin in the Summer. * We fall in love. * We start to see each other. * We feel __hot__ (a.k.a. lust). * Everything is so colourful and lively. 2. Then Fall comes. * We start to misunderstand each other. * We start to fight. * Lovers quarrel now and then. 3. Then comes Winter. * We feel coldness from each other. * Some starts to hate. * Everything just seems so dark. * We feel hopeless and depressed. * Our relationship goes into hibernation. * The longest darkness. 4. But if we can overcome that phase, then we start to see Spring in our relationships. * Spring, symbolises New Beginnings. * We learn to forgive each other. * We start to feel the warmth of Love, NOT the __hotness_, or lust, we first felt. * We take things slowly and simply enjoy the view. * We mend what needs fixing. * We start to prepare for the newfound hope and future of the relationship. * The cycle is complete, and this is when relationships get stronger and deeper.
I think this show is about the Four Seasons of Relationships. And I think this is why the title is “The Season of Kokdu”. It was not simply referring to the time when Kokdu appears, it also refers to the Winter that Kokdu brings.
This time, in 2023, that season is about to end. The couple doesn't know it, but they are in the Winter of their relationship. Always fighting, yet learning to understand and how to forgive each other.
Now, all they have to do is to conquer the darkness surrounding them. The personification of darkness that is Kim PIl Soo. He represents the beginning and end of their Winter. The very reason why they were forced to enter the Winter of their relationship far too early, not giving them enough time to enjoy their Summer phase.
I wonder if the Girls' Day group have a freelance manager. They've been getting a lot of acting projects lately, or at least were scheduled to premier a few months apart from each other.
First it was Girls Generation, but then again, we can probably associate it with SNSD's anniversary. From a marketing perspective, keeping their projects close to their anniversary can make use of their popularity as individuals and as a group; benefitting their promotions as a K-pop group, as well as, promoting their respective acting projects before and after the anniversary.
Now, it's Girls' Day. Another group that did not really disband as K-pop group, but are on different agencies.
When are we going to see T-ara talents come back in the acting scene? Oh, and 2PM? It's good to see these K-pop idols having projects one after another. It's like featuring each member, but not.

Aye!
It's cool to know the differences between countries, right?
It is not just the cultural where there are similarities and differences. Even in how things developed in business practices, advertising, marketing, and other aspects of life, even politics, there are similarities and differences.
What is interesting is that, Asia-Pacific, in particular the Philippines, South Korea, VietNam, Japan, Thailand, and China/HK/TW, have a lot of similarities in a lot of areas. YET, there is no known historical interaction and/or influences that made these similarities possible. At the same time, as many as there are similarities, there are also differences.
Then, if we go Westward, We start to notice there are fewer similarities and more differences from Asia-Pacific. It is like the world is dividided into corridors.
I heard 6th episode didn't telecast because of sports. But why don't they have different sports channel!! Why…
Sports that the Nation loves are always aired on major channels, be it free tv, digital tv, streaming (controlled by the networks), an d cable.
In the Philippines, it is similar. Whenever Pacquiao have a fight, or whichever sports at least half of the Nation religiously watch, major channels fight for the rights to air it.
Two-fold. One, bragging rights because they got the exclusive coverage, which will increase their channel's exposure (and their advertisers). Two, it's a National thing.
Sports that are not watched by at least halft of the Nation's population are aired in dedicated Sports channels. Sports watched by half of that half, are only mentioned in news reports.
"I hope other countries do the same instead of just trying to make money."That's exaclt WHY there are more and…
Ahh, if you look at it that way, yeah, very good point. From a TV show's perspective, if it wouldn't make give them a high share of the piece in viewership, rating, and money, they wouldn't care about issues plaguing the country and just think, "leave it to the news and politicians".
I'm more interested with the zombie hunting plot. Hahahaha. For a show that is primarily to make us laugh, it's…
Likewise. Yep, it's unfortunate. When shows that matters about society and life are on, it doesn't get attention. But, anything that is fancy and totally fiction, and sometimes subtlety espousing abuse and discrimination, those are the ones that become major hits.
Hooking up two people to wires and a computer and making them watch videos and images of distressed people while…
Yep. If Hwang lied about them getting free, and their families drowning regardless, Hwang would have become just another serial killer psychopath, the worst of the worst.
Not that we are justifying Dr. Hwang's actions, but they did well in showing how varied people with a psychopathic brain are. As well as, how different psychopaths are. Like in Hwang's case, he's only in it to prove his hypothesis.
If he won the game, I'm suspecting he will still let the family go. At least, Hwang has no idea they connected him to the kidnapping. If he knew they connected him, then he'll more likely let them drown.
But, still, Hwang's personality is also a man of honour, which is how his brain his wired. As long as you don't get in his way, he'll let you live (like in the case of Shin's parents). They passed the game, his brain is wired to honour that rule of his own game.
Especially for someone like him who thinks that we are a slave to our own brain. So, he's probably thinking he can not lie about the rules of his game, otherwise, he'll disprove his own hypothesis. LOL.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this already.

I guess that explains the sudden rise of this issue in K-dramas.
> In 77 per cent of cases, the abuse is inflicted by the victims' parents.
Yeah, it's the worst. "Law Cafe" depicted this in a very powerful way, with lots of quotable that strikes our soul. I hope it reached a lot of people.
I wonder if there have been an increase in child abuse cases in SoKor, or child-related organisations are actively campaigning for awareness.
It's good, and I hope other countries do the same instead of just trying to make money.
If there is indeed a "final frontier" in science and discovery, the brain tops that list, with quantum physics only coming in second.

Exactly!
> Overall, while the drama lacked super tight writing and directing, it had interesting enough content and characters to keep it entertaining.
Hear! Hear!
