You know what that is? A father. A brother. An uncle.
Sang Soo is being friend-zoned because of it. Most women are not looking for a father. They are looking for a boyfriend. A partner. An equal. Someone who is not self-centred and sees them and cares for them. Sang Soo is lucky because Mi Kyung is head-over-heels on him. LOL.
But, the Sang Soo + Mi Kyung relationship will more likely fail. Sang Soo's heart was just broken. He is not yet over it. Forget about healing because he is not yet at that stage. Since it's fiction, they'll make it so that Sang Soo got over, and their rebound relationship turns into something serious. This is the part where he enters the healing phase. Itself still dangerous. What Bu Yeon did in Part 1 Episode 1 was the best course of action for Nak Su, and for everyone else.

So, when Jang Uk almost became a victim of a soul ejector, Bu Yeon stepped in and stopped it, because Jang Uk is the perfect vessel for the Ice Stone. To the point that, Bu Yeon made sure Nak Su will give up on using the Ice Stone herself, because it has to be given to Jang Uk.
The Ice Stone 'dilemma' has been there since Bu Yeon was used to find it and when she used it.
