I just finished the Rebel Princess and I must agree with you. It would probably be passable otherwise but after seeing some wonderful performances acrossboard in TRP this really falls short.
Everything was fine until you started attacking the actress'(Landy Li's) appearance when she is beautiful. You…
It's weird seeing people not being able to differentiate between a character they dislike and the actor playing them. I personally disliked Zhu Yan in the Longest promise (totally not my kind of FL) and I wasn't the only one. What was disturbing was seeing how many folks couldn't differentiate between the character and the human being playing it. The personal attacks on Ren Mi (from her looks to pretty much anything) were disturbing.
Seeing how they changed the story, we'll never be sure about the ending
There are some really unhinged folks out there. I just don't get it, you can enjoy an actor's work and looks without harassing others or throwing tantrums about screen time (especially when more screen time would do nothing for the story).
All these scenes that feel so idiotic and irrational for someone who is supposed to be a powerful, calculating…
From a rational perspective, Cui Liang is the only one who is boyfriend/marriage material the other 2 have more red flags than the old Kremlin on May 1st. From a story telling perspective though that would just be boring. Personally, I think all 3 lead actors are doing a fantastic job.
Jeremy's Yuwen Hu is one of my favorite villains of all times.
Is the romance between the ML and FL or is it with FL and SML? I’m confused because the ML is so mean to the…
It's starting now with WZ. I don't think it will go anywhere with PY, he wants to keep her in a golden cage and doesn't understand how important freedom is to her. Personally, I think they are both a terrible match. WZ has more issues than Time magazine and is a sadist (although he has quit threatening and hurting her but a leopard doesn't change his spots) and PY is manipulative and doesn't get her. I think she'd be better of with 3 ML Cui or just going on her merry little way alone but that's not how romance works in those dramas LOL. Anyway, I am hooked on the plot and the acting is on point.
I am episode 13 and I absolutely LOVE the plot. I hesitated to continue after ep 3 because ML 's sadism is gratitious (like what does pushing on her wound achieve?) but I am glad I decided to push through because I really like Jeremy Tsui and Allen Ren is at his best playing a walking red flag antihero. I am not sure about the romance part (trauma bonding much?) but I am definitely here for the plot, acting, costumes and cinematography.
He is also an easily manipulated fool who will turn on a friend because he listened to some hostile strangers…
I find his character annoying too. They could have put an emphasis on the spy/killer side or on the country veterinarian side but instead they spinned him as a buffoon and while I like the show, the comedy falls flat (especially between him and his junior).
ML (her husband), 2ML crown prince of a foreign county and 3ML , a veterinarian who is the last golden merfolk. 2ML has serious feelings, I like him his character has depths. 3ML is a fool. FL is a modern woman and sees them as friends but does nothing to encourage their infatuation (she is not dense btw, she knows what's what and sets boundaries).
Preview of ep 32: so that Ryan Ren character is a the lord of the merlock people? I didn’t even bat an eye …that’s…
He is also an easily manipulated fool who will turn on a friend because he listened to some hostile strangers he met 5 minutes ago. When his mom is free from the ice, I hope she gives him the ass beating of the century and I hope FL never talks to him again
I knew she was up to no good when she started harping on ML to get a concubine even though he has zero interest. She was a low ranked concubine herself, why would she wishes it on her DIL unless she secretly hates her. A normal mom would rejoice she has a good faithful son who didn't take after his weak willed womanizing father.
Maid is delulu and very ungrateful. FL literally got her out of the gutter and ML makes it so obvious that he is not interested at all.
I am on episode 33. Main couple are committed to each other so it's one sided. It took her a long time because she was hanging on to the idea of returning to the modern world at some point but once she made up her mind, her demeanor really soften (good acting). FL sees prince 2ML as a friend nothing more, he is the one crushing bad. Maid and nitwit from the Situ family have very one sided crush on ML despite him making it super clear he is only into FL. Very disappointed in 3ML for being so easily manipulated by folks he met like 5 minutes ago.
FL's attitude got me rooting for Bai Xue Lu whom I think had much deeper depth of character and character development.…
I actually did. I saw the actress getting lot of flak about it but I think the main problem was not so much her acting but the way her character was written and also directed.
Same here. I really like the manhua and I like the actress. This definitely has great potential and I can't wait.

i really hate this fl and because of that i dropped the show, i means she is just so irritating. I can understand…
FL's attitude got me rooting for Bai Xue Lu whom I think had much deeper depth of character and character development. BXL and Qing Gang also had much better chemistry than the main couple (I basically watched the show for them and 2ML). FL running around and doing hurtful things without thinking and crying Shifu every other scene got old real fast. FL was self centered, immature, whiney, lazy and overall not very talented.
Can someone explain to me why the emperor poisoned Li Cheng? I thought he was estranged with Li Chuan and wanted to depose him as a CP so why poison his other son?
SRQ and Shangguan Ya by the order of the Li Chuan.
I wanted to add, now that we know what happened in the 1st timeline, I don't get why SRH is so intent on eliminating LC and putting his family in danger in this timeline. Zhen Zhen and Ya didn't marry CP so the murder won't happen and LC probably wouldn't darken and target his family.... well I ll keep watching and will probably read the novel for more insights :)
