Can someone make cuts of the cute interaction of main couple when this drama ends please. I only saw full ep 1 and then previews up to the latest ep to see if ep has main couple interaction but even from the previews (so I can go to full ep and look for those), you can see how cliche this drama is. Main couple goes on and off .. . due to status barrier, family pressure and the other rivals (the siblings). Really frustrate me when they made main character into a strong female lead but when it comes to her own life/romance, she doesn't really fight for it. It really makes me sad how she kept hurting the male character, one ep she is firm with wanting to be with him and next ep she breaks his heart and stays away from him.

It has such a bad script, super terrible acting(except the two main leads), huge fail makeups, cheap plots...really,…
This also has to do with culture. If you look up makeup around the world, different world has different style of makeup. As for the "barbie girls" different worlds has different type of ideals about beauty and woman. Not all Chinese dramas has these type of "barbie girl" just like not all K-drama has those repetitive cliches.
For Flying effects, this is part of Chinese culture to use flying in historical dramas due to wuxia/martial arts in ancient times. You can say it's one of the 'cliches' or 'must have' of Historical Chinese dramas.
If you aren't used to these cliches or repetitive themes in Asian culture then it's better to just stick with whatever you are comfortable with.
Some of these Asian dramas weren't created to cater you (an international audience) but to cater their own people (domestic audience).

Title The Princess Wei Young Spoiler
Does the king have memory loss or something? did he forget what kind of liar Zhang Le is ??? It's so annoying…
More like he never really know their personality, he just learned about it from that 1 time. Later on he kept hearing stuffs about how Wei Young is framing Chang Le, thus his perception might change. As a King, it is hard to distinguish who is good and who is bad and who is acting and who is telling the truth considering how many schemes and plots he sees daily. Furthermore, that time, they mostly blame it on the maid.

It feels like you kind of developed a biased against Chinese movies. There are many Chinese movies that are high budget productions, just maybe the style doesn't suit your taste.

Chang Le evolved after her hardship as in she learned how to scheme.
Chi Yun Nan (the nephew of Madam Li) comes home. He's the one that killed Wei Young's father (King of Liang).
The scroll that states what Chi Yun Nan did in Liang appears and ended up in Wei Young's hands but she lost it to Nan An Wang (Vanness's character). Nan An Wang uses the scroll to get Chi Family on his side (Chi family has military power).
Jun Tao's father is still alive but dies later on.
Nan An Wang learns about WY's identity
Cross dressing Princess's gender was revealed to Min De & she learns a little bit about Min De's identity but keeps it a secret.
There's hints about Min De's identity but not yet fully revealed until he travels to the province. He wouldn't be able to go unless he felt that WY's safe and ok where she is b/c he feels that after he leaves, he might never come back again.
Chang Ru learns of WY's identity as the Princess of Liang and learns where Nan An Wang hid the scroll.
WY told Tou Ba Jun that she's the Princess of Liang but Tou Ba Jun says her identity doesn't matter, it's her person that he fell in love with and they vowed to love one another.
TBJ's mother really dislike WY and pushes for TBJ to marry Chang Le.
Chi Yun Nan proposed for WY to be married to another kingdom to resolve the dispute that they have with that kingdom and to create more time for them to prepare for a war with that kingdom if it happens, thus WY was upgraded from her previous title to "An Ping Princess". Marriage didn't go through b/c the other kingdom wanted war regardless of the marriage.
Nan An Wang started developing feelings for WY b/c he thinks she will cure his phobia.

I like this one, but there are a lot of Chinese dramas better than this. Can't understand why this one has…
I didn't like SOD drama, as someone that read the novel, I dropped the drama after a few eps. For PWY, I'm watching Raws everyday.
This is different from SOD, in my opinion the only similarity would be smart female lead.

WHEN Tuo Ba Jung kissed her on her cheeks two times. It was so cute and he was teasing her ; A;
Translation not accurate
TBJ: Did you come here looking for me?
WY: No, they were mistaken, I already knew about the Liang slaves, so I came for them but they thought I came because of you
TBJ: Why is your face red?
WY: (switches topic) how's the injury on your hand?
TBJ: *looks at his hand* ahh.. ouch.. it hurts. Seems like it wasn't bandaged well.
WY: *gets close to him to check the wound*
TBJ: Muah *kisses her cheek*
WY: *shocked* You?
TBJ: You? *mimics WY* Me *smirks* -walks away-
WY: *pretends to feel insulted*
TBJ: -walks back and whispers in her ear- woman ah, the mouth says yes but the heart says no, in the future, I won't believe that you say
*kisses her cheek again*
TBJ: Me.. you *points to WY*, you, me *points to himself*, us

I thought it was really cute how he was making fun of her reaction when he kissed her cheeks. The you, me and us also kind of implied that there's something going on in between them, so I thought it was really cute ; A ;

What the? How could they insert another character and robbed our wei youngs identity? The story is great, but…
This is because China banned reincarnation, they censored time traveling so only way they went around it is this.
