The child wishes to know his father more but she doesn't let him meet as Pei has his own family now so she doesn't want to disturb him. The child resents Miao and runs off to meet Pei. This time, Pei's wife sees the child, and brings him in to meet Pei (Pei told her about the child being his). So, they both decide to raise the child too. Miao is unaware of this, she still tries to find her son for days, then gets lost in the jungle and falls down in a ditch. She can't climb out as she hurt her leg. A bear comes that way, doesn't see her and thinks the ditch is a good place to relieve itself, so it does that. Miao passes out from the poo smell. She is rescued out of the ditch a day later when the hunters/poachers come to see if they've caught something. They help her back to the temple. Pei has sent a letter informing her that their son is with him, he'll send him back in a few days. He asks if he can spend some time with his son on a regular basis. Miao agrees, is shown laughing, then goes and takes a bath. Song family's males get killed on the battlefield one by one, only Song remains as he is still imprisoned. He is released from prison. It has been a year and a half since he went to prison, his wife stays at the temple now, refuses to come back, the Song family is now ostracized, people ignore the ladies of the Song family when they walk in the market. Their business no longer exists. Song tries to hang himself but the concubines see him and stop him. They bring a better piece of cloth as they are worried the one he was using was of low quality.

It is good to know that if you keep scheming, wish to hurt others, take their wealth, prevent others from being happy, constantly lie to your supposed loved ones, you may one day be rewarded with the tutle of the prime minister. Amazing ending.
Male lead is suitable for female lead, she doesn't have a brain and he doesn't make decisions using his head (he uses his little head to make decisions, not his brain).

The husband (ml), the bitch (sml) and the arrogance of this witch (fl). Better title for this drama

Being a villain/being evil is encouraged by the government in China, that's why you dont villains getting punished for their misdeeds in cdramas. They usually get away scott-free or get a redemption arc if they are lucky. Doesn't matter if they kill multiple people, harm the elderly, try to kill a fetus, take advantage of someone by getting them drunk. Villains are celebrated somewhat in cdramas.

So what, they take turns and she is to give birth one after the other for each of their children?

Why does the Pei have to be burdened with the son. The kid keeps calling him great uncle. Let Song raise the kid as a single parent. You are right, bird brain should just live alone. Also, at some point, Song should get hit in the face with a ball or maybe even something heavier, such that his front teeth fall and he ends up choking on those. Bird brain shouldn't be allowed to visit her son, and make the son believe that she abandoned him, then after a few years, when he starts hating her, advise the kid to start calling her aunt and allow them to meet once a year.

At this point, Pei at the end should just marry someone else and if miao wants to be close to him, make the shen family slaves, thereby taking her as a slave as well (He is the regent). Let's see how female lead likes it when he actually tries to act evil. Also, 2nd ML should be left alone, later on in life, when he falls in love, his bride should be tortured on their wedding and beheaded in front of him. Then he should be made to sleep on the same bed with the headless body.

The writer appears in the end and apologizes for this mess, then gets shot by an arrow.

He should be made a eunuch, then blinded, his tongue should be cut and then he should be left alone.

He loses his Right hand, gets multiple broken bones, loses money in his business, has to give half his wealth and land, his wife gets kidnapped.

This drama doesnt seem to have a good ending, so I made one on my own.
When the ML is in chains and SML is about to kill him, FL comes to save him by threatening to kill herself if Sml doesnt let ML live. Continued from second last episode trailer.
ML finally says that he's done with FL after the latest betrayal and leaves the temple. He has now planned to seek vengeance against SML. No one hears about ML for a month. In this time, FL is still with SML but worries and tries to search for ML. One day, news reaches SML of his warehouse burning down, all the guards have been slaughtered. The two merchant ships carrying his goods have sunk and there's a rumor going around that any merchant ship carrying his goods for trade will sink. So people are actively avoiding SML. He suffers major losses in his business. SML is trying to figure out who is behind all this. ML comes back to town. He is now actively seeking for a bride via a competition. FL wants to sign up, but ML's assistant friend publicly shames her telling she is still married to SML. FL pleads SML to sign the divorce agreement and let her and her son go but he doesn't agree. SML takes a group of soldiers to ML's mansion and demands proof that he isn't behind the recent bad things happening to SML. A fight ensues, ML is prepared for it though, having already arranged for archers who shoot down the soldiers. ML cuts off SML's right hand as compensation for ruining the wedding competition. The competition gets postponed.
ML then visits SML's mansion at night and scares him by saying that SML should be careful, he just has one life. SML still an ass, laughs saying that he can earn back the money he lost. He boasts that FL is still with him despite knowing that ML is the child's father. ML just smiles, saying, "One day you'll come begging to make me accept the child as mine, I hope you remember what you've said today" and goes away.
FL tries to meet up with ML but he ignores her. She isn't allowed in his mansion. ML makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. SML asks FL to give up her obsession with ML, saying ML doesn't wish to acknowledge the child is his, and how she'll suffer if she goes back to him. FL feels sad and drinks a lot. She ends up at SML's bedroom. She wakes up next morning in his bed and SML tells her she can never go back to ML now because she slept with SML. She shows no anger, no hatred, just says ok and walks out without bothering to dress up properly. SML stops her from going out and apologizes, saying nothing happened last night and asks her to open her heart to him. She says that there's no place in her heart for him and goes out. SML challenges ML for a one on one fight in the jungle. ML knows it's a trap, yet he accepts the challenge and sends his assistant/guard to check out the surroundings where the fight will take place. His assistant/guard goes along with a few men, hides a sword and lays in wait till the time of the challenge. SML's small army gets easily defeated by the guards. ML challenges SML to the fight, to which SML has no choice but to agree. ML fights with his sword sheathed, because SML is no match for him and he doesnt wish to kill SML so easily but to torture him. He breaks most of bones in SML's body and then drops SML's unconscious body in front of his mansion. He is found by the mansion's guards, who take him in. He gains consciousness after two days. FL asks him to explain whi he was injured, to which he lies trying to make ML look bad. FL believes him. She goes to confront ML who is now having a meal with a beautiful woman. She forgets about the lie SML told her as she is jealous of the woman. She confronts ML who tells her to mind her own business. He invites the woman to spend the night at his mansion, the lady agrees in front of the FL. FL goes back to SML's mansion crying. She blames SML for runing her chance at happiness and wishes she'd never met him. SML tries to console her but she pushes him away saying she wont give up on the ML. She enters ML's mansion disguised as a servant, ML's assistant notices her and informs ML who tells him what to do. FL tries her best to talk to the ML but can't because the assistant is close by. Next morning, she sees the beautiful woman coming out of ML's bedroom and breaks down. She hides in a closet and is weeping when she overhears the assistant talking loudly with a lady servant about the woman spending the night with ML and the continuous sounds coming out of the bedroom, congratulating each other about good news (baby being born in the future). FL goes and confronts ML who seems to be waiting in his bedroom. FL asks ML to explain whats going on. ML calmly says that he is done with her. FL brings up their child together to which ML asks her to prove the child is actually his. FL asks if he actually spent the night with the lady. He denies. When she says she doesn't believe him, ML asks if she has slept with SML. She denies having slept with him, which he too has a hard time believing. FL walks away dejected. SML is worried about the FL so he had sent someone to tail her. One of his men informs SML about FL wandering around cluelessly and going to the lake. SML sets out to go see her. He reaches the lake to see her standing on the edge, ready to jump in and take her own life. His servants stop her. He is angry at her and asks her to explain. FL tells him everything that has happened. SML apologizes and says he is willing to divorce her. She says its no use because ML wont accept her. SML promises to accompany her and sort things out. They return to SML's mansion and he asks her to rest and promises her to go with him the next day. SML then goes to ML's mansion and asks him to accept FL, telling him that FL was ready to take her own life. ML tells him that he is no longer interested in her, that all this is SML's doing so he should clean up his own mess. ML also tells him that he is getting married in a week. SML tries to convince him to change his mind, and that he is willing to do anything in exchange. ML asks him to publicly admit that SML and FL's marriage was a lie, that they never slept together and the child's father is the ML. If the people accept it as truth, he is willing to give the FL a chance. SML accepts, but people refuse to believe him and laugh him off. He realizes the extent of damage he has caused and he goes back to ML's mansion and apologizes to him, asking him to now take back the FL. ML asks for half of SML's properties which SML hands over. He goes back and tells FL the news. FL is excited and goes to meet ML. ML tells her what SML promised and what he had to give up, because he doesnt wish to hide anthing from FL. Both of them decide to start afresh. They (ML and FL) hold a wedding and SML is shown taking a ship and sailing away. Three years have passed.
SML comes back to town, having made back his money. He is now a eunuch because some thieves cut off his thing when he refuse dto guve them money. He is returning with a girl he intends to marry. (He hasn't revealed to her that he's a eunuch). On the way to town, she gets abducted and taken away. SML tries to follow them but is cut off. He spends the whole day trying to find her with the help of soem friendly locals. Finally he obtains some clues, which lead him to ML's mansion. It's night time, he isn't allowed to enter the mansion. He sleeps outside and is awoken by the FL who sees him outside the gate. SML is surprised and tells her what has happened. FL sighs and tells him that ML mustve taken a liking to her and plans on making her his wife. SML asks FL not to joke around. FL tells him she is serious, then explains the events that happened after he left. She told him that ML was ridiculed at the wedding by some people, the wedding was called off and later ML took FL as a concubine for the sake of their son. She then helps him enter the mansion. They are on their way to meet the ML, when there is scream coming from the bedroom. Its the lady who was accompanying SML. SML rushes in to find the lady in bed and ML dressing up. The lady asks ML to take responsibility for her and ML agrees to marry her the next day. SML is fuming and asks ML to explain. ML just walks away without an explanation. SML spends the whole day frustrated unable to come to terms with what happened. The next day, ML meets with him and tells him to get married with FL as he is marrying SML's lady. SML refuses, but is gagged and dressed up against his will. He is blindfolded and taken to the wedding ceremony, where he is made to stand in front of the bride. He reluctantly lifts the veil to find out that the bride is his lady. FL is seen laughing in the distance and tells SML this was her revenge for what he put her through and that nothing happened between ML and the lady, also the lady was in on it.
SML is relieved and agrees to narry the lady at a better arranged ceremony and venue.
FL and ML introduce their second child to SML alongwith their first child, and everyone is smiling (except SML who is freaking pissed off inside).

Didn't he force the FL into a relationship? I hated how they portrayed the FL but still the way he was with her wasn't wholesome. He always did what he wanted and expected her to just follow, and when she resisted, just broke up with her. Also, why punch the professor when all he did was take care of FL when she was drunk? So, if he wanted the FL so badly, he should atleast follow through.

FL and SML should've ended up together, unable to separate because of their child. It would've served them both well to be in an unhappy relationship for life. That way, atleast others would've been safe fromthese two.
