First thing that came to mind was the kmovie Always (with han hyo joo her acting rlly shines there), its not rlly abnout illnesses but it is heart wretching [thers also the japanese version Your Eyes Tell but I prefer the korean one more]

Im not crying guys, these are the waterfalls on heaven 😃 this was such a beautiful and raw movie i love how they were able to focus on the bright and colourful aspect of the storyline that it didnt even feel like a sad ending. Happy tears guys happy tears, im sure they found each other.
