Great cast, director, and writer through Ep 6. Then the last two episodes seemed curiously watered down, even muted. We get far too many overly long fight scenes and repetition, yet some scenes get short shrift, and we are left wondering what the heck actually happened. Still, the bromance is charming and the relationships between main characters are effective. I liked the series but felt a bit cheated at the end.
I’m not big on violence and tend to wait it out or spin through it. Bu I knew what I was going into and held on bc I love the cast (not just the charming leads). Well rewarded as the actors are superb, and the scenes so well directed. I also love the humor at just the right moments. This is a fine series.
Superb cast, wonderful characters, strong direction and script after a bit of murkiness in the first couple episodes, I had a great time watching this one over a long weekend. Recommended.
Great cast, esp Cho Seung Woo, whom I’ve loved for years. But I also loved the kids, the piano music, and especially the bromance—touching and hilarious at the same time. It’s an enjoyable series with good pacing and balance, but also a showcase for Cho’s multiple gifts. Definitely recommended.
This was one of the first Korean movies I watched years ago, and I still love it and the leads. Yes, some are right about flaws here and there, but I love it for the charming scenes between the leads in the early and middle parts, and for his absolute devotion to her. It is a precious love story.
Shaky first episodes, often clumsy scene sequencing, playing games with viewers in final ep. around a cringey even sexist attitude toward strong women, but they eventually got it right with good closure that calls out public shaming, doing it through affirmation of both strength and love. The cast is very good and work hard with the director for some enjoyable and sometimes charming moments. Recommended as a watchable but not superior drama.
For Yoo Ah In who is loved and admired around the world, and for his fans who are stunned and broken-hearted, I hope he gets the help he needs and recovers. And I hope his fans will support him as he takes on this struggle. I am so sorry, Yoo Ah In; you are too brilliant to continue on that path. Get well and come back to us. ❤️
The writing and storyline are thin and clumsy. However, there are some nice visuals, the two veteran leads are wonderful, and the mother-daughter story is moving. The tragic death in May of Kang Soo Yeon is heartbreaking. RIP 💔
One of my favorites; I always smile when Kim Won Hae turns up. A strong supporting actor like him enriches every scene he’s in and works as much and more as a lot of leads do. Love this actor.
She’s a lovely, talented actress who will always hold her own and do well in fine dramas. Production knows just how to use her in their shows. I do hope one day she can be the star.
A classic and one of my favorites I rewatch every couple of years or so—like this weekend. Series like this one and “Goblin” joined now by “CLOY” remind me why I fell in love with Korean movies and dramas years ago and have never left.
Though his wasn’t the major role, Yoo Joon Sang commanded every scene he was in. The subtlety and charm of his acting, especially expressions, held me throughout both series. He’s one of my favorites now.
I love all the main characters so much I will be ready to watch when 3 begins. Production does need to take fans’ advice: strengthen the writing.
