Title Zombieverse
Found it on Netflix, thought „wow, unscripted Zombie fun!” and was left absolutely disappointed.
It’s scripted, seems to be 90% scripted after seeing the end of episode one/beginning of two.
Characters are downright annoying and the acting seriously bad, like they couldn’t decide if it’s a drama where they have to act convincingly, or a mindless game show where joking and “entertaining” is their main objective.
What a waste.

I'm not a fan of either Earth or Mix. Only reason I am watching it is because I did like a tale of a 1000 stars.…
That is a relief, I only watched a few episodes of 1000 stars and wasn’t a big fan of the acting, if it improved then it should be fine - I'll give it a try tomorrow.

I'm not a fan of EarthMix and I like it. It's a mature, slower paced and serious show, though, so if you prefer…
Thank you, that sounds good, I generally prefer the slower shows. I guess I’m getting a bit too old for the “exciting” BLs on the market, there really aren’t enough mature works targeted at a somewhat older audience.

It's a good watch so far. Imo it is quite unique story wise comparing to other gmmtv series. It has a much more…
Thank you for pointing out that it’s slow and different from the usual, I think I haven’t tried a single gmmtv show that I didn’t drop after a couple of episodes. I really am not a fan of what they make, be it their actors or execution, their stories often sound interesting but the results really aren't great.
The story generally sounds like something I might like, I’ll try the first two, maybe it’s different enough for me.

I’m only at episode five but I think it’s surprisingly good, just the comedy is very very misplaced and it would have been much better without it. I often have the feeling that Korean show makers are afraid of serious BLs, they often have these totally out of place comedic moments that drag down their show's quality. This could have been a genuinely mature work that might have appealed to people outside of the genre’s main audience, but the humour, cliché stumble, etc. pushes it right back into its original corner. Seems like it'll end up being the same as most KBL; "cute", but that's it.

Please don’t eat me, but is the show actually good from an objective point of view? So far only fans of the actors told me it’s great while everyone who isn’t says it’s a waste of time. I only have two days off and don’t want to spend it on something that seems to be a matter of how much one likes the actors. I've seen them in older shows and found them all quite lacking, has their acting improved and is the story/execution genuinely worth a try?

It's ok but I don't feel it. They didn't show us why his manager likes him back. They've barely spent time together…
To be fair, it was like that in the webtoon as well. KH BL is mass-produced, be it their webtoons, shows or novels, the overall quality is just very low because they are a quick cash grab, the targeted audience just wants two hot guys together, the story doesn't need any depth and the romance no real build-up to please the consumers. It sells just like the mass-produced het romance on the market, it's popcorn entertainment you can't expect much from.

The changes are to give the show a more realistic approach and not to treat the uke as a damsel in distress which…
I thought they would cut out most of the workplace problems and focus on the romance, because it's just too much to be squeezed into 8 episodes if they want to do some romance as well. It's a surprise for me that they are really trying to do both, I hope they have a good plan and not that it turns into another rushed disaster. Korean BL needs longer series for adaptations, it's sad that they don't seem to get the green light for that.

I don't know, some of the changes make it more dramatic than it was in the webtoon, like when he meets his former crush. They actually parted as friends and he officially gave up on his former love, while the drama makes it seem like there's either still something between them or that MC hates the guy for some reason. Honestly, most of the changes seem to be doing the opposite, create more drama than there was in the original, but that's fine because it's a completely different medium with its own tools and rules.

Yeah that's the seme/uke stuff we've got Japan to thank for. I'm also assuming they'll down play that. The drama…
Japanese sex culture in general is the problem, the same can be found in straight erotica and even in real life, prostitutes for example often act like they refuse because women somehow aren’t supposed to readily agree to sex. It’s one of those cultural things even young people from said culture don’t really understand nor support, but it’s not a surprise that BL would go down the same road. Japan still has to go a long way before the sexual culture reaches modern standards, including clear consent and judgment free fulfilment for both sexes.

The changes they made are fine, tho I'm not really sure why they did so because it doesn't seem necessary right now, maybe they planed something and it will make sense later on.
Good thing that there won't be any erotic, I was pretty repulsed by how the webtoon handled it, I'm just not a fan of characters going through with it when one says "no" and pushes the other away several times. Their relationship in this show is more to my liking tbh.

I'm gonna answer your question because I don't care (I didn't even understand) the other comments.Yes, the drama…
Thanks, I watched it and you are right, I really enjoyed it. The ML seems very wholesome and I like their dynamic, now I'm just sad that it's only one episode per week.

Acting isn't great, budget is obviously small. Overall mediocre, it just moves way too fast for my liking and the ML really isn't my cup of tea. But it's nowhere near as bad as the comments suggest.

Wth happened in the comments? I came here to see if this show is cute or not and ended up having to block several borderline racist commentors. Why do BL shows always attract this kind of people? I just want one drama free BL comment section... 😔

Just finished crying because I feel so bad for In. I disagreed with Wang, I think that In could have eventually…
You put into words why it isn’t a ten for me. I’m disappointed that the show ultimately ended up being about Mol, neither Wang nor In, while the letter has basically been left behind completely.
He is a victim of two very self-centred, narcissistic people and I would have wished for adequate closure for In, even though the ending is realistic.
You rarely "win" against people like Mol and Wang, it was better for In to separate from both of them.

We just didn’t really learn anything of value about In, only about his feelings for Siam and its consequences but nothing about him as a person, he stayed very 2 dimensional despite being one of the main characters.
To me it felt like he was a slightly more well-developed plot device, a narrator for Siam’s and Mol’s life and mild catalyst for Wang, in the end he never went beyond that.
The show was simply too short to invest that much time into recollections and philosophising done by one character to develop him properly, and I think that has never been the intention to begin with.
It was Mol’s story, three very dysfunctional people with her in the middle.

Although I feel somewhat “cheated” because it was presented like a LGBT show but actually wasn’t, it was a very good interpersonal drama with some flaws, which is surprising considering that the writer had no experience with this medium.

Yes, the comment section here is quite nice for once, except for a few nasty remarks. Some people aren’t great at identifying a product’s intention or are simply unable to see its quality in relation to its genre, I do understand that it can come off as pretentious to someone who isn’t into art.
They judge based on its overall category, and for a BL drama it is “pretentious” if you don’t have the sense for artistic direction.
Objectivity is rare when it comes to entertainment, it happens to every medium, people who apply their subjective opinion as objective truth aren’t worth paying attention to, nothing will change their mind and addressing them in a critical manner only fuels their believe that shows like this one and its audience are pretentious.
Don’t bother with it, it’s not worth your time or getting angry over, you deserve an experience free of such negativity.

Conversation piece is a very common cinematic genre. Specifically in those the heavy dialogue gets as much dramatic…
It’s partially a matter of audience. BL, at least in the West, is consumed mostly by young people and largely by those who just want a gay romance, neither art nor an overly complex story.
Just look at comments for other BL shows with little physical moments, it’s almost always a complain that’s all over the section.
Mainstream BL lives from fetishization, there’s a reason why certain stereotypes are in the majority of shows, novels, and Manga – it sells to an audience that wants their rigid fantasies fulfilled.
And there’s nothing wrong with that. Straight romance does the same, it’s just luckier in the sense that it can still have a proper plot because the romance aspect needs less time due to its “naturalness”.
Another point is, stories like 180 Degree aren’t made for everyone, artistic products have a small audience to begin with and very little overlap with the BL community, coupled with it being an interpersonal drama, it’s not surprising that it isn’t a mainstream hit.
I doubt it would have done much better with a straight romance, the whole product just isn’t geared towards the average viewer, like Birdman, These Final Hours, Lost in Translation, and other western movies that use unconventional stories or presentation.
We all want different things from the shows we watch, it’s okay for people to like intense romance or a shallow plot but lots of action, let’s just ignore those who are intentionally provocative in their dislike and hope that the rest finds something they can enjoy more than 180 Degree.

Good CGI, very messy story, too many unnecessary characters that are nothing but filler material, extremely annoying "female companion" stereotype with sob-story background, overall one of the worst characterisations I've seen in a movie, not to mention the pseudo-romance that added nothing and led nowhere. Acting is mediocre at best, some actors were downright horrendous.
It's brainless fun that's nice to look at, without the violence I would have assumed it was made for children. 5/10
