I read the novel years ago, can't remember every detail but I know the story. Basically the drama followed the book, while in the book XY is more fond of XL, also FFYY and TSH's story is different. Meanwhile I do believe if XL choose to give up everything for XY, she might just run away with him, for he is the only man she has ever failed to love with brain. Surely she's got tons of reasons not to choose him, but despite the truth she might be the most rational woman in Dahuang, sometimes she just couldn't help it. For example, when they met the last time in season 1, they were on an island, she said to him:"Now I have a home and someone waiting for me to come back, but I start to want to wander like this all my life." Remember once he asked her to quit being a princess and wander with him? Also, during the same conversation she asked him "what do those islands look like?" and said "how I want to see them." She was hinting to him: If you decide to run away with me, I'd say YES. He got what she meant, so answered:"I'm not taking you there, go find someone else." If he was talking only about the islands, why would he refuse an island trip with her? She had offered, sis. Another time is before her wedding with Fenglong. If the drama follows the book, we shall see it in season 2.
