but you know I feel like if he had trusted GY and not locked him up or tried to get rid of him, GY would have been his biggest ally and confidante. having GY at his side is like having the entire military. then CG would not have any reason to go against Ling Feng either (since he mostly wanted to become the emperor because GY was being suppressed). haa... don't know, maybe this is just my wishful thinking.

Well he even wanted to run away from her at one point, except didn’t succeed bcs that cruel woman got wolves to come after him. After being saved by SY and GY, he didn’t spend much time at home, so i guess the abbuse had to stop around that time. Yes maybe if at least his stepfather had been present, things might have been different. they didn’t bond that much anyway. I think CG didn’t have much of a reaction when he found about his death.

Me too. I hated him so much at the beginning. But then there was a chapter he almost died and he was thinking of actually passing the throne to CG. At that time i was very sad. But then right after the war ended, he was back to his past self again, full of suspicion and mistrust toward even the closest people (especially the man that defended the country, gu yun. Like how can he ever treat GY like that ?) But i do understand that from an emperor’s perspective, he was afraid of GY. A complicated character tbh.

Yes, that makes sense. Probably before CG knew the truth (about his aunt not being his mother), he might have thought that abuse he went through was part of how she showed her love. So as you have said he expects pain to come along with love/affection hence why he can ask this type of things from GY, probably as a way to affirm GY’s love for him. Of course Gu Yun would never harm him tho.

do understand. all complaining comes from faithful fans of this novel who only want their novel to get a faithful adaptation with a decent budget. we're not trying to make troubles. just truly worried. Untamed is pretty different because no one was actually expecting anything out of a BL drama adaptation back then. but now it's not the same.

You know how CG multiple times display very masochistic tendencies, say things like he doesn’t mind If Gu Yun breaks his legs or lock him up etc. Around the time I was reading SPL, a fellow reader speculated that the reason for Chang Geng’s masochistic tendencies when he’s with GY is bcs of the massive amount of abuse he went through in his childhood. So he has this assumption that getting beaten up or any other form of violence is a sign of love and affection. What do you think about this ?

It is dubbed 😔. I think te voice actor dubbing the untamed wei wuxian is also dubbing one of the characters
Omg, it’s Gu Yun ? I have always thought that Gu Yun and Wei Wuxian are pretty similar. To think that they even have the same voice actor 😅 i don’t really mind it tho. But from What I know Zhang Jie is WWX’s VA for the Donghua. For the Untamed and the audio drama it was Lu Zhixing who voiced WWX i think.
