Doctor Slump Review - ZyKuu

"Two doctors hit rock bottom simultaneously" - The story highlights a positive way for parents to help care for their children whom are experiencing depression. This show does a great job at highlighting the importance of one's mental health and how you should treat it seriously. Both Ha-neul and Jeong-woo are high school rivals turned doctors. They both ended up relying on each other to climb out the gutter and eventually develop a relationship that blossoms into a romance. Personally, I was not intrigued with their romantic relationship as I feel like the second couple in lead stole the show. Hong-ran and Dae-young had a unique relationship that was heartwarming to watch. Overall I enjoyed the comedy aspects more than the romance. Ha-neul's family was entertaining and the star of the show for me was Ba-da. Ha-neul's younger brother Ba-da was funny in many ways and always lightened up the mood whenever he was on screen. Ha-neul's mother and uncle were both supportive and loving through every step of the way. The OST was great, and I believe that this show could have been reduced in episodes. Overall, this was a good watch and I would recommend this to anyone who is facing mental health issues as I believe it would guide you in the right direction while entertaining you.

Our Beloved Summer Review - ZyKuu

"A documentary that reunites two exes" - The story was special in it's angled approach, I loved the actors, it was one of the most balanced and talented casts I've seen and I enjoyed everyone's role. Both main leads Choi-ung and Yeon-su were perfect and had great chemistry. I loved their personalities as individuals and relationship dynamic. The second and third couples were interesting in their own regard as they had different dynamics. One critique I have revolves around the relationship between Ji-ung and his mother, as the unexplained animosity did not make sense to me. Besides that, I admired the relationship Choi-ung had with his parents along with Yeon-su and her grandma. The show is funny and excels in the romance department. Overall the acting was superb and the OST was nice. I took my time watching this series and one thing I know for sure is that this show will go down as a classic.

Summer Strike Review - ZyKuu

"A small village filled with special people" - The story made life feel relatable and taught valuable life lessons along with it. This drama was very entertaining and unpredictable at times. The show successfully incorporated different genres like romance, mystery, and melodrama. The cast was spectacular as I feel that majority of the characters nailed their roles. The main leads Yeo-reum and Dae-bum were a special pairing. Their chemistry was innocent and gentle. Ji-young and Sung-min had an entertaining dynamic, and it felt wholesome to see their bond get stronger over time. The sidecast had a couple standout performances like Geun-ho, Geun-ho's mother, and Bom's father. Bom's father in particular broke me not only once, but twice. I appreciated Bom's family dynamic because it displayed a realistic situation that exists in many households today, thus making a connection with the viewers. The OST is beautiful, it perfectly suited the theme and environment of the show. This show inspires me to live in a village and experience life through a different lense. There was a calming peace in watching the people of Angok go about their daily lives. All in all, this was an amazing show that I recommend everyone to give a try!

Move to Heaven Review - ZyKuu

"A service provided by a man and his autistic son" - This drama was very powerful! The story was very intriguing as majority of the episodes focused on the stories of the deceased and what led them to their demise. Each episode did it's part in revealing some lore upon our main characters and managed to connect everything together by the end. The cast was the standout for me as I believed that the three main leads nailed their roles. Geu-ru played his role perfectly as he had to become a 20 year old with a developmental condition. Hopefully his role brings the viewers to understand the reality of people who may share the same disorder as Geu-ru. Na-mu is the neighbour everyone would love to have. She is very loving and caring for Geu-ru and worries for him as if he is family. Speaking of family, Sang-gu is the uncle of Geu-ru and he is my favourite character in this drama. To witness his character development from the first to last episode was special. You could tell that as he spent more time with his nephew he grew a fond love for him. There was no OST, but the genre of music used in this drama was classical, and the scenes in which they played the pieces eloquently matched the tone of the moment. This show delivers a unique storyline and contains a stellar cast, which in combination creates an impactful drama everyone should experience.

Business Proposal Review - ZyKuu

"A blind date turned double life" - I loved this series, every episode is entertaining and light hearted. The story is pretty basic with no depth, but it is easy to follow and I loved the realism portrayed in the story. The cast was perfect, I believe that they carried the show even when the plot wasn't that strong. I found no weakness in any of the cast members as I believe everyone aced their roles. The show has a magnificent blueprint for any romantic comedies to follow. I loved the main lead Ha-ri, she is beautiful! Young-seo was a charismatic character that had her personal issues but she always made the right decision for her future. Tae-moo and Sung-hoon had a brotherly relationship that was wholesome to watch. Both romances displayed were unique and brought a different atmosphere to screen. Ha-ri's family and coworkers were perfect complimentary pieces to put around Ha-ri. Not only did they deliver in their roles but they enhanced the viewing experience, especially in the comedic department. Other than the cast, the OST is magical. Overall, I believe that this drama is a picture perfect romantic comedy, and I recommend this to anyone who loves these genres!

Bloodhounds Review - ZyKuu

"A brotherhood between two boxers" - This drama outlines two marines that fight side by side to take on the loan sharks at Smile Capital. The story was easy to follow and lacked any plot holes, although it did feel as if some points of the plot were fast forwarded. The fighting scenes were choreographed very well, and the episodes did a wonderful job at ending right at the climax, wanting you to jump right into the next episode.I enjoyed the bond and unity that Gun-woo and Woo-jin shared, even when faced with adversity they always fought together until the very end. The side cast was cool, my favourite being member being Mr. Choi. One nitpick would be the character development, I felt as if the characters from the beginning did not really change in the end. The OST is nonexistent. Overall a good watch, I would recommend this as a great introductory series to anyone who enjoys action.

Twenty-Five Twenty-One Review - ZyKuu

"A journey about a girl and her fencing career" - The story was well written and accurately depicted the tragedies that the world suffered between 1998 and 2001. Through the lives of the cast, we were able to gain knowledge upon the realities that people may have experiencing during these hard times. This drama was excellent at creating emotional moments as there were a couple touching scenes that brought tears to my eyes. The main lead Hee-do did a great job in her role. Yi-jin played his given role to a tee. The romance between Hee-do and Yi-jin was initially endearing but then later on becomes complicated, demonstrating the harsh realities couples may face. The sidecast was the standout for me. Ji-Woong was the comedic relief of the drama. I enjoyed the dynamic Yu-rim and her family had. I found the relationship between Ji-Woong and Seung-wan heartwarming and innocent. Seung-wan was a character that I did not expect to grow on me as much as she did, but her actions led me to admire her. The OST was amazing! Unfortunately, the ending of the drama was underwhelming. Overall this is a great introduction drama that I recommend for new viewers.

Queen of Tears Review - ZyKuu

"A marital crisis that rekindles love" - The story does start off slow, so you will need to be patient. The show also contains many plot twists that are unpredictable but there are moments where the plot seems overplayed. Luckily, both leads Hae-in and Hyun-woo demonstrated stellar chemistry and their acting ability carried the show at times. There were many scenes where the two were emotional towards each other and you could feel the intensity as a viewer. Their acting was so powerful that I became teary eyed at times. Eun-seong was one of the greatest villains I ever witnessed as I genuinely hated his character throughout the series. The side cast was amazing and the OST was perfectly selected to fit the mood and genre of this series. The romance was executed perfectly and the scenes in Germany were beautifully captured. This show makes me look forward to getting married one day!

Twinkling Watermelon Review - ZyKuu

"A teenage boy uncovers his dark past" - Perfection. The story is unique and unpredictable. This show will never fail to disengage you as a viewer due to the astounding plot and crazy twists written within. I loved the origin story between Yi-chan and Chung-ah. Watching how their first interaction blossoms into a romance is heartwarming. The relationship between Eun-gyeol and On Eun-yoo is entertaining, and their chemistry was on point. There were two character relations that stood out to me. One being between Eun-gyeol and Chung-ah, they shared many scenes that were impactful but there was one powerful scene in particular that brought me to tears. The second being between Yi-chan and his grandmother who had such a loveable relationship, and there was one scene specifically that had me crying. Chung-ah was undoubtedly my favourite character in the show as she was absolutely flawless and played her role perfectly! The OST was diverse and delivered a retro vibe that fit the theme of the show which made it astounding. This show has even sparked my curiosity to learn sign language! Beautiful show nonetheless.

My Dearest Nemesis - ZyKuu

"A Black Dragon's weakness is a Strawberry" - The story was relatively engaging but lacked depth. The plot of the show was lackluster as it followed common tropes and failed to stand out in a unique manner. It may sound harsh but nonetheless it was still entertaining. The main cast was amazing and carried the show, The main couple Baek Su-jeong and Ban Ju-yeon were entertaining but from a romantic standpoint their chemistry was weak. Their chemistry was stronger when they were enemies. The second couple Kim Sin-won and Seo Ha-jin were my favourite couple. Their relationship was realistic, and succeeded in highlighting struggles that couples may be enduring in reality. Su-jeong's family was adorable as they cared about her deeply. Her father was very gentle towards her and always tried to always be there for her. He struggled raising both his kids and carries guilt with him for not being able to support her to his liking. Besides her brother being the comedic relief for me, he had moments where he would express his worry and care for Se-jeong. Ju-yeon's grandmother lore was pretty foolish. The hate she had towards him was unwarranted and seemed unnatural. Chief Kwon was the only adult figure Ju-yeon had and she was always looking out for his well-being which I admired. The OST is good and does a great job at blending in with the emotions of many scenes. Given the length of the show, it was an easy watch and I recommend this show to anyone who is a huge fan of the cast members!

Weak Hero Class 1 Review - ZyKuu

"An introvert meets school violence" - The storyline was interesting in the first half but was slowly losing me in the second half. I loved his acting I believe it was played to a tee. I also really enjoyed the performances by Soo-ho, Bum- seok, and Seok-dae. I found the rest of the cast pretty mediocre. The OST was nowhere to be heard. My favourite fight scene came from the second episode. Action was engaging and suspenseful. This series was very easy to binge through given that each episode is not long at all. Overall a good show, i'm glad I gave it a shot!
