Why does anyone glorify any series condoning that a cheater be forgiven, no matter what reason is that he’s…
I did not watch this at first because I didn't like affairs drama, but when I happened to watch a clip, I got so absorbed by the acting that I decided to watch the whole series and so glad I did. The cheating is only a small part of the drama. There is so much more to the story. It's so heartbreaking, but damn, the acting is simply amazing and enjoyable to watch. This is one unforgettable series carried hard by acting of the leads especially the FL. There are so many great scenes and lines in this drama.
The best melodrama I have seen. Kim Hyun-joo's portrayal of two persons with totally opposite personalities is so amazingly convincing. She's the best melo actress ever! She's so insanely beautiful and her acting feels so real. The hurt and pain can be seen through her eyes, felt through her voice -- so captivating. The chemistry is also the best I have seen.
What if it happened that a person really came out and started to revive the dead in reality , had powers and claimed…
Pretty heavy theme. Believe it or not, many people still get brainwashed more than you think. A lot of cults spring up and thrive on people's fear even today. We may not be able to understand their thinking but this is clearly happening. This show highlights that I think.
The Queen Kim Hyun Joo????I'll be watching no matter what.
Looks like a historical spy thriller. So excited. I also wish to see her again in a romcom. I want to see her in bright roles again, her smiles and laughs are just so lovely and worth watching.
The writing seems pretentious to me and tries to be more sophisticated and deep than it really is tbh. And it's…
Pretentiousness abound both in fictional works and much more in real life I think. A lot of creators want to impress audiences that they create satisfying romanticized plots that the viewers generally feel good about, no matter how implausible they are in real life. Well, that's the entertainment we pay for anyway -- we want to feel good and all.
One thing with the Hellbound series though is that it does not try to satisfy the viewers or make them feel good. It simply puts forward questions and people may found it unsettling and some may find it totally not worth the time thinking about or even boring. I guess, for the time being, this series is just too bold and too niche. But I find it the least pretentious show I have watched so far.
Season 1 was more like supernatural things and what a human can do when he wants a mess but season 2 was all about…
Both seasons 1 and 2 do not focus so much on the 'phenomenon' as they call it. It's only used as a plot device. I am not sure why viewers (including me at first actually) think it's all about supernatural. Maybe it's the fault of the promotions team or maybe it's just our tendency to only see what we want to see.
I appreciate this series for its philosophical take on human-created 'truths', our hunger for explanation and meaning, our fear of randomness and uncertainty, and our various reactions to inexplicable events.
The theme is really heavy. So, if you want to relax on a weekend, this is not the right show. But if you want to be bothered and think more about your established beliefs and how they might have put limits on your views and have affected your life and others around you, this show is perfect!
This is just my opinion, of course. Others who have seen the show may have different interpretations.
To people who find the lack of explanation disappointing, it's totally understandable. We have been taught and conditioned to find meaning in life and everything in it.
But how certain are we that everything has meaning and purpose and not just purely random?
More importantly, would we live less humanely if we thought of our existence as just being random?
Loved the first season. First time watching the second season, I was disappointed. There was too much craziness I couldn't relate to, then more seemingly unnecessary drama. I was skipping a lot to see the explanation of the 'phenomenon' and got nothing until the end. It bothered me so I decided to watch it again, not skipping a scene. After thinking more about it, I came to appreciate its being vague.
I actually like this now more than the first season. It made me realize something about human always wanting to find meaning and explanation. We have been taught and conditioned to find meaning and purpose. But what if everything is just fully random? Is really finding a 'truth' the only way to create order and appreciation of life? Ahh, there is so much to think about in this show.
This is a really philosophical series -- the best I have seen so far. Just like the first, this new season has left an impression on me and it's even more personal and impactful.
I wanted to share this perspective since I see some people frustrated about leaving with more questions than answers.…
Agreed. At first, I was really dissatisfied that I watched it again as I really liked the first season. Maybe, I wanted to be given answers right away that I was fast forwarding a lot. But at the end, there was really no answer. I watched it again because it really bothered me. This time, I took my time watching each scene. I now can fully appreciate the beauty of this season!
The games were also not as thrilling and intelligently written.
