the novel is so good. it's funny,witty and very interesting. I read the novel and was instantly hooked. I didn't skip a single line. and re read the novel many times. I'm not a fan of Meng Ziyi or HeYu but I was eagerly waiting for the drama only for the plot. and tbh,the cast is perfect. the aesthetic is perfect. I'd 100% recommend the novel. especially for the Bu Shulin and Cui Jinbai love story part.

haha as I said.. Bu Shulin was pregnant with Cui Jinbai's child when Cui Jinbai found out that Shulin is a woman.

ps. she gave birth to twin boys. hehehe it was a cute,funny and lovely supporting cast story.

honestly I'm not surprised about the veteran actors joining as supporting casts. because,if you don't find resources, you're almost forgotten by the entertainment industry. but yeah,it looks like high budget enough. they tried to minimize the use of CGI,AI.. and I'm super glad for that. they went for natural places most of the times. the tombs,the pavilion incident,the upcoming horse incident. I'd say they put alot of effort into this drama.

Cui Jinbai found out about Shulin being a woman when Shulin was trying to run from enemies. and she was actually pregnant with Jinbai's child. He didn't know it was her who he spent the night with. he thought she was a girl from a brothel. and later Shulin, pretending to be a man,had to break off their ambiguous relationship and had to leave the capital because of circumstances. she was pregnant with Jinbai's child at that time. when assassins attacked her,he finally found her and saw her. Xiao Huayong told Jinbai that Shulin was a woman. so when he found her,he hugged her very tightly, afraid of losing her.

I tell you,the novel Bu Shulin and Cui Jinbai are so funny. Bu Shulin drunkenly calls him his manor's future mistress infront of her servant. 🤣 and then said, you'll be the bottom and I'll be the top(BL related things 🤣) and her servant was like..so young master Bu thinks of herself as the husband and Cui Jinbai as the wife? (her servant knows she's a woman, it was so damn hilarious. I was so invested in their love story. 🤣🤣

Cui Jinbai found out about Bu Shulin being a woman,much much later.. but.. I wanna give you an amazing spoiler,but idk if you'll want it. 😁😁

nope. he's a very upright person. he never poisoned his wife. infact he told his wife before marriage that he loves someone else and he wants to break off the marriage arrangement. and he will take the blame. but she said, it's fine. but gradually she falls for him after the marriage,but can never obtain his heart. he's a good person.

hahaha.. yeah.. I actually watched the Korean version first. then I found out it was actually from a chinese novel. and man.. the novel was cruel to the fl. but very realistic in that situation. nonetheless,I love rebirth/transmigrated stories lol..

yep yep. one of biggest hit rebirth story was scarlett heart.. both in cdrama and kdrama. I've read and watched so many rebirth/transmigration stories that it's pretty normal for me.

after dying Gu Qingzhi's soul was trapped. It doesn't say it in the drama but in the novel, she was pregnant with prince Changqing's child, maybe because of that,her soul couldn't leave the world. But as in the drama showed, because of a natural special phenomenon 'Twin moons',when Shen Xihe fell into the water,Gu Qingzhi's soul got merged into Shen Xihe's.

This drama is so true to the novel,that it's cleansing my drama slump. I'm absolutely loving the drama. everyone's perfect for the role,this is what perfect cast looks like. I wanna hug the director, the screen writer for actually staying true to the novel(looking at you TFJ).
and Bu Shulin,my girl.. even though you're toned down in the drama. I really really reallyyyyy want to see you calling Cui Jinbai your wife just like in the novel. 😂😂😂

the reason death plot is necessary because it changed her entire personality. the real Shen Xihe is a sweet, innocent girl who was raised by her father and brother like a treasure. She doesn't know any schemes and is not cunning at all. So if the real Shen Xihe came to the capital, she'd have married Prince Changying,which her father chose for her.
While Gu Qingzhi is calm,cunning have cruel and scheming mind. The reason Shen Xihe chose crown prince out of everyone is because she has Gu Qingzhi's soul/memories.

FCC and BaiLu's interactions were natural. they are both goofy people. bailu loves to laugh and FCC loves to make people laugh,so their dynamic was a hit. while FCC and MZY looks forced and cringey. The interaction is so forced onto our faces that,I forget other casts exists. Does KR think they can recreate BL/FCC dynamic with FCC/MZY?
but MZY is not suitable for KR, she's more suitable for Wonderland,Hello Saturday etc.
this year's KR is so bad,I didn't even watch few episodes.

This season, KR changed sponsors. Previously the sponsors were Anmuxi,Sleemon etc. BaiLu and Song Yuqi are representative of Anmuxi. So I guess the new sponsor wanted to replace the old sponsored casts.. They can't remove Li Chen,Zheng Kai etc. because they are apparantly shareholders and og cast. So it's understandable why Yuqi and Zhou Shen was not in this season. and suddenly from day 1 of the release of KR, BaiLu is getting hatred,you can guess why. They added new cast Li Yunrui and Meng Ziyi. perhaps to take over BaiLu,Zhou Shen,Song Yuqi's places.
honestly,I think BaiLu should leave this show now. even the director and og casts are good to BaiLu,they can't overrule the sponsors afterall. with BaiLu's cheerful laughter and jolly personality,no matter which show she's joins, it'll be a hit and fans will watch her.
ps. I'm still freaking pissed off about FCC and Meng Ziyi's interactions. they're really pushing FCC and MZY interactions into our faces.

the director is nice,they and og family members are actually good to lulu. it's the sponsors who makes the decisions. in this season, KR changed the sponsors. before it was Anmuxi. BaiLu and Song Yuqi are representative of Anmuxi. but now KR sponsors are that weird drink and some beer company. it's not the same anymore.

honestly I don't mind if lulu leaves KR. this year lulu got so much hate,and it all started from KR. I want BaiLu to join a new variety show. she's very good in variety shows. her laugh,her funny antics,her cheerful nature makes every variety show fun. so no matter what show she joins, she'd be perfect in it.
