What tf u watching? That guy literally followed her everywhere just to kill her and take her fox. Because he started to have feelings for her,he tried to "save" her. It's not bad writing, it's very normal and reasonable. Just because he's the male lead,he doesn't get any free pass to hurt and break someone's trust and act nonchalant. Yes,his brother died and guess what,fl almost died too..any sane,normal person would be mad at him.

Definitely lol. His martial arts are even better than any other brothers. But since he was poisoned, he can't fully show it to others, except Shen Xihe and her family. He thought he won't live long,but at least he could. And I was so happy for that.

There's no revenge. It's more like a power struggle between Shen Xihe/Shen family and the imperial family. As stated in the trailer, whoever married her,gains half the empire. So all the prince who wants to be an emperor is aiming for Shen Xihe. There is a subtle love triangle(or square) tho.

The thing is, it's not like they don't encounter any hitches or problems.. it's that,they counterattack fiercely. Because they have the power to go against even the emperor. So what are others. Nothing. The emperor is wary of Shen Xihe's family's power. Because of circumstances,she was allowed to be in a position even higher comparable to imperial princesses. And adding that she's extremely sharp minded,she can deflect enemy attacks. Her biggest enemy was none other than the emperor. Because the emperor is trying to destroy Shen family. So.. from the beginning,she knows she's going against the emperor,not petty schemes of inner households or officials. So failure is never an option. Failure means dying along with Shen army. I'm not against criticizing something you like,but I think it's pretty unnecessary.

Some people here claim to be the novel reader,yet act pissed about the second trailer. Have you really read the novel? If you do.. how can you forget,the novel has many comedic scenes. ML with his guard/servant is a funny duo and my absolute favourite Bu Shulin and Cui Jinbai are the funniest lmao.
The novel also had many dark scenes,I won't say much. But one was where the fl sent a certain someone to her enemy's house,DEAD and in a wooden barrel,in some old lady's room(I assume it'll be less gory in the drama).
And people complaining about how every plan of Shen Xihe and Xiao Huayong goes smoothly. Shen Xihe has a status that's even higher than imperial princess,she has power and money from her father and brother. She is very beautiful and have a extremely sharp mind. After all these things,if her plans still fail,then she as a strong female lead is pretty useless,and I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it. Next is Xiao Huayong, he's not a typical ml. Cold,rude and useless like other mls. ML is funny but he's very ruthless,to others and himself. Other mls make you forget about them after I stop reading about them. Only some manage to make you remember them.

I personally loved the novel. Not a single chapter made me bored. Shen Xihe was a strong character. She had status higher, compared to imperial princesses. She had power from her father and brother,she had beauty and an extremely sharp mind. After all these things,if your plans still encounter hitches and doesn't go smoothly,then you're pretty useless and dumb,lol. And regarding ML,he isn't your typical ml, that's cold and rude and suddenly falls for you. His mind is sharp too. So when two intelligent people come together,and your plans still fail. Then at this point,you should just stop being annoying 🤣
If you think the novel is not good enough for you, maybe it's time to stop reading? I mean if I don't find a novel good,I stop reading it. For example: A Splendid Match.

Maybe it's a mistake? Or maybe because his screentime is less compared to other supporting casts?

People here who are having second thoughts after watching the second trailer. I assure you,this isn't a typical costume drama. I can give you many spoilers as I'm a novel reader. There are some light hearted scenes,but not many. And people who love strong fl characters will absolutely love Shen Xihe. The comedic element even though comes from the ml,the ml is very powerful and can sort anyone out. His antics are hella funny,but he can fight like a beast. Give it a chance when the drama comes,the storyline is really good.

He's a crucial character but his screentime isn't that much. The series revolves around the fl first.

I absolutely loveeeeee,I mean LOVEEEEE the novel. I loved Gu Qingzhi,I loved Shen Xihe. And I certainly loved Xiao Huayong.
Shen Xihe is one of the most powerful female lead characters I've come across,not physically but strategically. She's cold hearted, calculative and bold and brave. And Xiao Huayong, he's an absolute comedic menace and powerful. I like him so much lol.
From the trailer I can tell, it's almost like the novel. And I know I'll love it. I'm not a fan of Meng Ziyi neither am I a fan of He Yu. But here,the actors suit the characters so much. I'm so excited. I can't believe I'm actually eager to see Meng Ziyi and He Yu lol.

Ps. I hope they won't disappoint me by making her character different or absolutely changing the story.

Edit: I freaking love the clothing and jewellery designs of this drama. A certain drama really disappointed me. So I'm overly hyped about this drama. And I think it'll be a hit,tbh.

Fr. I'm so fkn pissed at the haters and at the so called scriptwriter Meng Qiqi. They harmed both BaiLu and MoLi. And the hype went down. And guess what,even Douyin and Tencent are fighting. And it's blocking MoLi. Ffs..
