The only thing I didn't like about Hot Stove League is that actors casted for the roles of Head of Department and her assistant were too young, they honestly looked like school students to me. They just weren't convincing enough. I was thinking the whole time: "Who can take them seriously? They are total babies". Reminded me of another miscasting in Chicago Typewriter, where a 40 y.o. was playing a young girl, looking like a mom of her love interest.

Sometimes I feel like screenwriters shove romance everywhere simply because romance sells. It's not always needed. They could have cut half of love scenes in the first season and substitute it with bromance, and the series would have gotten better.
