Remakes are always tough to evaluate since people are naturally going to compare the original to the adaptation, but imo they should be viewed as its own standalone project. Originals are always going to be seen as "the best" because fans have fallen in love with it, and never give the adaptations a chance. This show hasn't even aired yet, and people are saying this actor/actress doesn't fit the vibe and all that, and never even give them a chance. If you're going in the new drama with your confirmation bias, then you'll only find things wrong to pick at. And there's no point in filming an adaptation if they're only going to copy and paste stories and actors/actresses and find the Korean version of characters who fit the vibe. Drama is not out yet, but they've casted really talented actors and actresses. The dads are of course long-time veterans with important roles in the show, but Jung Chaeyeon since Reunited Worlds in 2017, to King's Affection and Golden Spoon recently. People see her as just a "pretty face" but the released stills are already showing promising vibes.
I just realized only 16 episodes... that makes me a little worried.
16 episodes is pretty standard in Kdramas and it will most likely be ~70 mins compared to 40 in the original. Also cuts out unnecessary dragging plots.
I already feel Inyoup-Chae-Hyunseung chemistry through their photos so pls FBC release soon I can't wait any longer🥲
Some fans saw them hanging out at an amusement park without any cameras.. Do you realise how crazy you gotta be to hang out with your co-workers on your days off 😭😭
Am confused why does the female lead have only one friend listed in the cast are removing one of the friend? Or…
There's not much news and even the release date is not confirmed yet. I'm guessing more casting news about the side characters will be released as we get closer to release date and during/after the Paris Olympics.
What happened to Kim Se Jeong?? From acting with the good actors to acting with a C list actor??
Lee Jong Won literally acted with THE Lee Honey on his previous project lol. I don't think he's a "top" actor by any means, but he's no C list actor. Knight Flower reached 18% viewership and was popular domestically.
Love to see legit good "underdog" dramas on a fairly new ENA channel get more attention. Proof that you don't always need superstar big name actors/actresses for a drama to do well. Good acting and storylines can produce good results too
Chaeyeon is a legit sunshine and this is giving sunshine and sunshine protector vibes.. Love the first still they've released, and such a perfect choice of a group photo rather than individual posters like most dramas do
Airing on one of the currently leading channels like tvN would be really cool but I fear a lot for the possible…
Still only a rumour about being a tvN drama, but not sure how believable this is and I don't want to get my hopes too high lol.
The actors are not exactly A-tier and tvN really only has top tier household name actors as their main leads. Also rumoured to be 10 episodes of 40-45 mins runtime which never happens for a tvN or a TV broadcast drama in general. Typical tvN drama are at least 70-90 mins per episode runtime.
Anytime you compare a remake to the original, almost 99% of the time fans are going to be disappointed. The original is often seen as "perfect" and fans are going to be looking for things to pick out and criticise.
I would much prefer to watch this adaptation as a standalone with a clean slate and enjoy it as its own without comparing things. Yeah, the actors/actress may have different vibes and image but Jung Chaeyeon and Hwang In-yup are both great actors and it's written by Our Blues writer and directed by 25/21 director. It's a great team of people working on this so I'm still going to keep my hopes high.
Lol I can see him playing the girl's dad but not the cop idk why. But either way I'm really interested to see who will play the other father. Both dads play important roles in the drama so I'm really keen.
lmao imagine taking drama classes, going to many auditions, being an extra, trying to make it big, and in the…
Idols in comparison is actually better since many of them actually have taken acting classes and have plans to venture into acting, but this guy is legit a dating reality show dude who somehow is placed on this pedestal in the variety scene and now he's gonna get into dramas? I guess everyone deserves a chance to show what they got but still..
Gonna need fans of the original show to stop hating on remakes before they even aired. If the show airs and you don't like it, then fair enough or don't watch it. But at least give these young actors and actresses a chance before basing everything on "oh they don't fit the vibe at all"
