"Our Youth" - Minase Jin
I honestly have no words. I wish I could do a cool one-liner that puts all my feelings into one, but honestly, I don't know. All I can say is "wow." This is like trying a food and knowing it'll be your favorite from the first bite. That's how I felt when I watched the first 2 episodes. I remember telling my friend, who is now watching, that I had just started this but I knew it'd be in my top 5 jbls. This is just THAT show. I lowkey haven't written a review since "The Trainee" ended (September) but I just have to for these cuties!!In a tiny sum up, the story: Minase Jin is what a parent would call "perfect," with good grades, stays out of trouble, and overall just well-behaved, that is until Hirukawa Haruki steps into his life. This entry led him to find out a pretty personal secret about Hirukawa, which brings them closer, maybe a bit too close.
What did I like? Wow, there's a lot. Shall we make a list?
1. Characters: Honestly just both of their stories alone are great, especially Hirukawas, and them coming together makes a pretty good mix.
2. Chemistry? Well it's definitely there!! I don't care about what others say, there was TENSION.
3. I read other reviews, and with the cinematography portrayed, I felt extremely immersed.
4. As well from a review, the mention of waves and boats. A quote I have from the 10th episode is said from Minase Jin. "And I let the boat carrying the letter go into the sea out of my hands as the wind takes it. That letter sails into the deep sea. " Honestly, I just love the comparison.
5. The loyalty of the two..oh my gosh?? "Even if we can't get married, I will always be by your side." Haruki Hirukawa, can you be MY husband??
Honestly, to name everything I love, I'd have to go back and watch every episode and write down each and every one of my thoughts. But Our Youth has brought out a feeling in me that I didn't think many could reach.
In the later episodes I also realised they called each other by Jin and Haruki, when in the earlier episodes they called each other Minase and Hirukawa, which I found cute. The fact they do that from when their teenagers to adults? I love them. As well as how the "novel" of the letter was Our Youth. That means what we just watched was the letter, right?
Anyways!!!
The only con for me is the special episode. The fact they didn't ACTUALLY tell them they were dating made me sad, but that's okay!! Same with the marriage. Maybe someday we'll get another special episode of their marriage when it becomes legal in Japan. But for now, we can only hope!
To wrap this up, I honestly really wish I didn't have to. I'm gonna miss dreading every time I had to wait for the next episode. When I first started watching, it had 5 episodes out, and I caught up all in one. I started at 10pm (mind you, I have school) and watched every episode to catch up. Then when I found out the 5th had came out that day, I was quite sad to have to wait. But, now I can just rewatch when I'm feeling down. Anyways, I'm really going to miss these two. I know some may disagree, but I loved these two a lot. Would definitely recommend!!

MISSING THEM ALREADY!
I started this off with good intentions and I was right to do so! This series is just overall sweet and gives me what I've been needing after the toxic relationships in the past BLs I've watched. If you are unsure to watch it, hopefully my review makes you decide!THE STORY:
Kaido Amane moves to Enoshima and decides he may want to actually find someone he loves, instead of just sleeping around. While there, he comes across Yamasuge Ryuji, a boy around his age, who works at a restaurant. After becoming friends, Amane quickly realized his feelings for Ryuji. But, does Ryuji feel the same way?
First off.. let's talk about the characters. Amane is bubbly, but a straightforward guy when it comes to his feelings. Ryuji? HE IS A GREEN FLAG! When I say a GREEN FLAG, I mean the GREENEST FLAG. He's probably one of the greenest flags I've seen in JBL. Ryuji is understanding, and nice. He didn't leave Amane even when he knew that he had feelings for him. He considered his feelings and didn't EVER act like he wasn't there. When Amane confesses to Ryuji, he doesn't really know what to do because he never thought of his feelings this way towards the same gender.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!
There was no misunderstandings between the two. Why? BECAUSE THEY TALKED IT OUT. When there was a problem, they talked it over. Why is that a good thing? Because some BLs, Japanese or not, always are miscommunicating and have all sorts of problems. And they never fix to probleme until EPISODESSS later.
THE 2 KISSES IN EPISODE 5??? I SCREAMED AT 6AM. They were so cute together, and even though it was so short, it was so enjoyable!
This series is so cute and I'll definitely be rewatching it! If you want a BL without any misunderstandings, with adorable leads and a adorable cat, watch THIS!!!

Main Ingredient? LOVE!
What can you do when your mom sends you far away from the city as a punishment? Live with it. Or you could run away, but that probably wouldn't be the best idea.Moo, who has that problem, was sent away for not being a good student and skipping classes due to trying to reach his dream of becoming an idol. When his mom finally gets tired of it, she sends him away from Bangkok. Now, in a secluded area where the nearest convenience store is a 20 minute walk, he must learn to live here where he has a crappy room and bad internet.
Kang, a guy who helps his mom run a restaurant. Nothing much to it besides the fact he's a good artist.
When their paths meet, what could happen? Will there be love brewing? We'll have to wait and see over the weeks that this comes out.
This drama had reminded me so much of msp. Not necessarily the plot but the way that this makes me feel takes me back to when I was first watching My School President. I love Sea and Keen as a pairing so much!! Kang and Moo matched each other so much, and their visuals together are just amazing overall. This series may just be my top 5, maybe even 3, bl series of 2024
Who would I be if I forgot about the side couple? Payos and Potae are such cuties and seeing them together was great, I hope to see more of them together in future series.
As the first half of 2024 is coming to an end, the last day of June being my birthday and being the last day of the first half of 2024, Only Boo is beginning to wrap up with only one week until the final episode. It's sad to say and I will for sure miss these two, but I'm so glad that I joined this journey and watch these two characters grow as they realize their love for each other.
This series was a roller coaster of emotions from tears of joy to tears of sadness. If I had a chance to watch this all over again for the first time, I would. My cuties!!!!
(For those who don't know: The Trainee with OffGun will be overtaking the Sunday spot, June 30th, my birthday😋)

"It's a miracle that the person you love also loves you."
This series has given so many lesson throughout, even with the gang stuff. Although I hope you don't get yourself into trouble like them, they also teach the values of putting care and trust into your relationship. As said in the credits, "Where there's love, theres a miracle. " And that it shown itself in the series. The beautiful leads, the great storyline, and the outstanding acting all brought together creates this masterpiece. If I were to give a "BEST BL OF 2023" this one might just take the cake. (haha get it? Bai Zong Yi's shop. ok nvm..)
The love story between Fan Ze Rui & Bai Zong Yi is a long journey. There is love and there is heartbreak. Tears were shed, of joy and sadness. But I was more than satisfied with the outcome.
THE STORY (slight spoiler? skip this part if you don't want any!):
Bai Zong Yi is a regular student with dreams of becoming a doctor. Until one day, that all changes. When he meets Fan Ze Rui, his life gets twisted all around. Once getting to know each other, love is in the air! But that love comes crashing down when injury occurs leading to amnesia. Will they be able to pass this tragedy and rekindle their now broken relationship?
CHEMISTRY:
Taiwanese BLs always have great leads with great chemistry, and that's the case with both couples. The way they would gaze into each others eyes, the body language, and everything overall gave me BUTTERFLIES!!
You can't forget the CAMEOS!! My boys from Plus&Minus making an appearance made my day better. Seeing them on screen together was a delight, and I really wish to have another series with them as well, and not just a cameo. Along with other characters in the show, such as ones from HIStory and Be Loved in House:I Do. Although I haven't seen those series yet, it's lovely to see couples such as those on screen again, even for just a second.
When it comes to Taiwanese BL, I always have high hopes. Was that a bad idea when coming into this? NOT AT ALL! IT SERVED! Getting to spend the last 13 weeks with these 2 couples was everything, and I'd do anything to be able to watch it for the first time. Their love story made me cry. From laughter, and from quite literal sobs and I'll miss that.
It's a rare sight when liking both couples, but Kiseki did it for me. Chen Yi and Ai Do were ADORABLE! There was enough screen time for both couples, which is a win.
I hope to see more of both couples, and maybe even a series with Nat Chen (Chen Yi) and Louis Chiang (Ai Di) as the main leads👀. Would definitely recommend to others!!

Who shall it be?
Ang Mutya ng Section E, where the story is about a well-known all-boys class which is soon thrown into chaos when a confident and clever girl, Jayjay, transfers in. She's the first female student they've had for a while, and not everyone is happy about the change, especially the class president, Keifer. He sees her as a threat to the way things have always been and does everything he can to make her leave. But as they argue and challenge each other, the class starts to shift, and both the boys, and the president, begin to see things in a new perspective.Honestly, I went into this just for sillies since I'd seen clips of it on my socials, but I didn't expect to be this immersed into it. Its my first Filipino drama, and there may be more to come, but it's definitely a rollercoaster. It's not just the love stories that unfolded which caught my attention, but also the whole friendship as a whole. The first friendship that caught my attention was Jayjay and Ci-n, which also is the reason I fell in love with Ci-n, along with his actor Charles Law. I think this series just brings a sense of family even without being biologically related. It a story where they'll fight for each other as they love them very dearly. I like these kind of stories, but this one felt different. I can't put my finger just on why, but it's definitely there.
(SPOILER‼️)
Who shall it be? Keifer? Yuri? Neither? Maybe they should get together since they seem to like the same people, maybe they can give each other that love. BUT Aside from the friendships that blossomed during these 16 episodes, the love story, or stories, also were quite eye-grabbing. She had both Yuri and Keifer looking at her, and as much as I want Yuri to get the girl, we all know he's the second lead and just like always, the second lead never gets the girl. Theres a bunch of people who have read the books that are saying things about Yuri, but I'll have to wait and see that. All I know is that being so attractive, looks and personality wise, to get BOTH of the top guys in your section?? Damn Jayjay?? Either way, I'm team Yuri, at least I think..
(END OF SPOILER‼️)
Let's get off of the story now!! Let's go to the acting..boy was it something. Listen, I'll let it slide just for the fact a lot of the actors are new. But that doesn't help the fact that it was a bit of a hard watch. Andres Muhlach, who plays Keifer, might have just been one of the worst ones. I didn't see much emotion, and it bothered me. I'm not saying he doesn't have room to improve, since he's probably got years ahead of him, but I hope his next project will be more..full? Other than that, it just seemed low-ish budget for the acting. Maybe it's just because of how it's my first Filipino drama, but it didn't seem right. I've seen better, but I've also seen worse, so I tried to not let it affect my rating too much.
Overall, I think even though it wasn't like a top budget series, I enjoyed it a lot. Honestly, Ang Mutya ng Section E really surprised me. I thought it would just be a fun watch, but it turned into a touching story about change, friendship, and growth. What I loved most wasn’t just the romance, but how the characters formed strong, family-like bonds. Jayjay really shook things up, especially for Keifer, and seeing their relationship change was both annoying and satisfying. In the end, this series gave me more than just fun, it gave me characters to love, friendships to admire, and a final episode I won't forget anytime soon.

17 MINUTES OF CUTIES
Well, honestly I don't have many words to say. This was a cutie little watch, and I would watch again if I just needed something to do for 17 minutes. The story is that Riku and Keita are in a romantic relationship, but they’ve chosen to keep it hidden from the people around them. While they care deeply for each other, the secrecy sometimes weighs heavily on Keita. He occasionally finds himself questioning his place in Riku’s life, wondering if the need to stay hidden means their relationship isn't as important to Riku as it is to him. The lack of openness can leave him feeling isolated, especially since neither his parents or friends know.
Riku and Keita are both cuties, and I enjoyed the scenes that we got. Although it was so short, if there was ever a possibility, I'd want to see an actual drama with these two and similar storylines, just more into depth. Keita resembled Kiyoi from My Beautiful Man, but both leads were definitely beautiful men. ALSO the girl😭 she lowkey represented us with her always being like "😳🫣" y'know? Overall, it was a cute little watch and I enjoyed it :-)

FIRST IMPRESSION
Gmmtv has no doubt, been releasing some good series recently, such as Our Skyy2, Only Friends (airing), Homeschool, etc, but this one I feel has intrigued me the most. The writing so far seems well made and kept together, as well as interesting. I myself have been waiting for this series ever since it's been announced, and I'm so glad to be able to finally write a review of this!Pros: Obviously the actors are amazing, I love their works and the actors themselves. It seems like it's well-paced, although that could change, with a decent amount of time to get through. Also, enemies to lover? HELLOOO??
Cons: I understand recording and trying to show the teachers the real truth behind the rich guys, but if it was me, I'd at least send my friend to go help my other friend. Even if they're bad guys, I don't want to risk friend getting badly injured. On top of that, the fact the teachers didn't do anything was not cool. I understand that he is the son of a big person, but not doing anything to help besides "talking" with them is crazy.
I do have high hopes for this series, and hopefully it will live up to my expectations. So far so good, 11 more weeks to go nd I'll be present every single one❤

LOVE SUPREMACY ZONE
As this is the first kbl of the year there are most likely high expectations. Since recent years we've got some great bls from Korea, and I'm excited for what 2024 will give us. As someone who's watched the first 4 eps (will do w the others) more than 10 times, I can say this is one of my favs. If you say that you didn't enjoy a singular scene after watching the whole show, you're lying to yourself.Very SHORT Summary: Tae Myungha, who is originally 29, is transported into a simulation where he is 19. His one mission is to make Cha Yeowoon happy, but if he fails to do so then he will face death.
LIKES:
What is there to dislike? This show has brought nothing but surprise to me. Not in a bad way, in a good way. It isn't repetitive like other bls. This one is one of those where you're unsure what is up next. It follows the mains and has you wanting more. It was Thursday (the day eps 3&4 came out) and I didn't want them gone. They're so cute that you just want to put them in your pocket. I even had hoped the weekend would end sooner due to the fact it would be closer to the next episodes.
DISLIKES:
. . .
IN CONCLUSION:
You most definitely NEED to watch this if you are debating to. This is one of those shows that hooks you the first episode. Could it be confusing? Yes. But it clicks after the first few eps. Others may disagree but I couldn't ask for a better kbl to start off 2024. This may take the #1 spot with Semantic Error and The Eighth Sense.
Who would I be if I didn't add this amazing quote? (From EP 8)
"I finally realized that every answer I had hoped for was in everyday life that's too mundane to be "fate", yet too beautiful to be " chance." Happiness must be hidden somewhere in my each of our days. "
Things are bound to happen, whether you want it or not. It may not be determined by a supernatural power, but it wasn't just a possibility. You make it happen with how you continue on in life, and I hope you can reach happiness just like Tae Myungha and Cha Yeowoon, whether it's through love or not.

LOVE IN TIME
My SolJae.. What will I do now every Monday and Tuesday? As much as I have loved other dramas, I think this might just be in my top five all time. With the love story that I have been following between these two, and have been watching since basically the beginning, I don't know how quickly I can let them go. These two either brought a smile to my face or tears with each episode. The acting within this project is phenomenal. I felt as if I was genuinely a character in the show with how much emotion and attachment I've grown upon these characters. The chemistry made me feel as if they were actually together. I love both of these actors so much, and I will continue to love them, but Lovely Runner will forever hold a place in my heart.
The story follows Im Sol, a girl who's a fangirl of a K-Pop group called Eclipse. She had bought a watch at an auction that once belonged to her favorite member, Ryu Sunjae. Once 2023 begins, that Sunjae passes away, but there's nothing she could do from stopping his death, right? Things began to go into a spiral when she clicks the watch and she goes back 15 years into the past. While there, she meets her favorite member when he was a high schooler. Now she's in her 2008 body and finds that she lived across from him. What will she do now that she is trying to correct time and keep him from his "unfixable" fate?
I just want to say that this romance is one of a kind. My favorite part about this story is the fact that Sunjae is a loser in love. No matter if he is a singer, an actor, or just a regular highschool boy, he still acts out in front of his crush. He may have lost his memories throughout each lifetime, but he will always find his way back to Sol. It didn't matter what universe or weird time jumps occurred, he always found his way back to the one he loved. His destiny was to be with her, even if he were to have died.
This drama deserves all of the hype!! I'm so sad to see them go but I'm also so happy that I got to experience such a wonderful story. This marks an end of a chapter, but there will always be more to come.
ALSO!! I loved the fact that even when the future changed, Sunjae was always meant to be some sort of famous person in South Korea. He was a singer whose group sold out tickets, but he was also an actor who had successful dramas. But his occupation didn't matter, he was still Sol's.

Home.
Home school is by far, one of my favorite gmmtv series from this year. It focused on intensity, friendships, and a learning experience. I can say, it did get boring at parts, which could be reason for why it has many mixed opinions, but as it goes on, it gets better.Kids brought to this school by their parents due to being 'ungrateful' and unwanted. When they're there, they must face intense teaching, hard challenges, and even worse punishments. Kind of sucks, right? Thinking it's all torture, but really these masters truly care. Homeschool teaches you lessons, love, and most of all, friendship.
Must I say, the acting is amazing. Especially Chalad as Master Prasat, incredible. The main 4 played their roles well, as well as Gun (as always) playing as gun. Not to mention Chimon as Pennueng. He portrayed his role so well, and I'm glad he wasn't a jerk as I heard he was in 'The Gifted. '
As Project R was executed, the students that were hypnotized were to take revenge and kill their parents. Honestly.. the parents were running like a chicken with no head, because if I were in that situation, I would not stop running and try to find an exit.
The series was honestly really good. From the acting, to the intense music, and even Khaotungs small guest role as 'Zero' at the end of episode 18. Hopefully signifying that there could be a season 2. I would definitely recommend this series to friends, although it may not be everyones thing.

HUMANS ARE...
Humans are monsters. It's as simple as that. At least, most people are. Even for their own blood, when money and their life is on the line, they'll do whatever it takes. Or at least, thats what we think. What about that small percentage? What if you sacrifice your own life for someone who hasn't even gain consciousness of the world yet? Well, Gihun did exactly that.Honestly, I don't really know where to begin on this review. I'm just in so much shock. I sat there for a good 20 minutes just TRYING to unpack what the hell just happened. Did I wake up at 3AM to watch this? Yes. Did I cry multiple times at just 5 in the morning? Also yes!! Season 3 is the end, at least that's what it seemed. Maybe the end for the Korean games, but who knows about elsewhere.
Since I dont really know where to start, lets talk about the thing that destroyed me most, the deaths.
I'm not going to go in the order they died, but I will go for the order of the games.
Hide and Seek, basically:
Gosh, where do I begin? The biggest heartbreak? Hyeon Ju? Oh my gosh. I expected it when it didn't show behind her but Myeong Gi? Her death absolutely destroyed me. She already lost do much last season, and I expected for her comeback this season, but they barely even gave her a chance.
Other than that, Dae Ho. Honestly I was sad, but not as sad as I expected. He was getting on my nerves, although I would probably act the same way, scared. Gi Hun had it out for him, which didn't help at all, which eventually led to his demise.
Finally, Yong Sik. I don't think I wouldve cried if he died because he hadn't killed anyone, but the way he died is what got me. His own mother having to kill him because he was going after Junhee is absolutely insane. I know he was scared, but damn.
In between this and the next game, the mother, Geum Ja, must've felt so guilty that she hung herself. Was it sad? Absolutely. Did I cry? No. Why? Because it was so unexpected. I saw them bringing in the box and I was like "did another person live?" Sadly not.
In the next game, which was Jump Rope, 2 people died.
First was Nam Gyu. Nothing to say to that except: Thank God!!!
Next one.. Oh my gosh. Before we talk about that, lets talk about actually crossing. Junhee hurt her leg during Hide and Seek, therefore she trusted her baby to Gi Hun, who took the baby and made it across. As everyone is crossing, the time is only ticking. Myeong Gi tries to help her, which her reply is "What are you going to do? Carry me?" YES!!!! HE SHOULD.
Well, he didn't. He made it across, and it leaves Junhee as the only ALIVE person that hasn't made it across. Gi Hun was going to go to her, but she testified. In the end, she couldn't make it across and sacrificed herself and jumped off.
Gosh, it's already been an emotional rollercoaster and we're just on episode 4.
The next, and FINAL game. It's, well, I'm not sure what to call it. Lets just call it the shapes for now, okay?
Who dies?
First off, Min Su. I loved him a LOT in season 2, but this season, he was off. I understand he was going a little crazy but still. In the end, he died.
Then, the next shape, it turned into chaos and EVERYONE but Myeong Gi, Gi Hun, and the baby dies. Well, Myeong Gi and Gi Hun fight to the death, but don't press the button to start the match. You don't understand how much that stressed me out. In the end Myeong Gi dies from falling.
It's just Gi Hun left now, well, him and the baby. Is he going to sacrifice himself or the baby. "I promised Junhee." Therefore, as I mentioned from the beginning, some people aren't as monstrous as we think. He says his goodbyes, and falls to his death. Now, a literal fetus has won the game.
My thoughts on the ending? Absolutely horrible.. But I can't stop watching. I just HAD to know the end. Gi Hun gave it his all, and he truly didn't deserve that ending.
In MY perfect world, the winners are Gi Hun, Jun Hee (with her baby), Hyunju, Min Su, and Geum Ja. What about Myeong Gi, Yong Sik, and Dae Ho? If it's a perfect world, hopefully they'd be better people, but they sucked this season.
Either way, that ending was absolutely horrid. Did it really have to end like that? And is it 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 the end?

A Goofy Bromance
Is this the best short-length series I've watched? No. Did I enjoy it? Quite a lot.(I didn't mark this as spoilers, but there are still VERY slight spoilers. Don't read if you want to continue this with little information)
I didn't go into watching this with expectations, which could be the reason for how much I enjoyed it. If your going into tthis and expecting a serious, action-packed series, with high standards, lower it.
Why do I say that? Because it's quite the opposite. It isn't a bad series, but is it trophy worthy? No.
The story was a bit chaotic. It confused me and made me do a little head tilt at times. Did the bromance make up for it? Yes.
As one of the other reviews states, if you want to visualize this as BL, then it will be a BL. If you want to watch as a normal comedy, then that's what it is.
BL or not, this can still be a good watch.
Things I DID Like:
1. The Bromance
-Must I say more? Other may say that they didn't see the chemistry, but me? I ate that up.
2. Humor
-I enjoy to have a little laugh while watching dramas, comedy or not. When the scene is supposed to be taken as "serious" and a joke is added, it makes it more enjoyable.
3. The Relationship Dynamic
-The leads are taken as childhood friends, which one betrayed the other.
Things I DID NOT like:
1. Backstories
-Referring to #3, I did wish they did more of a backstory on the betrayal, like including a flashback. The short explanations leave me with questions.
2. Drag on
-Although the series was enjoyable, I feel as if it was dragged on. It could've wrapped up in a few episodes less, such as only 15 episodes. (I did appreciate more interactions between the MLs though)
Overall, I would not recommend this if you want a full of action series. It's just a goofy watch to sit back and enjoy to fill your time.

Love OF a brother or love FOR a brother?
I'm gonna be honest, when I first started this, I wasn't quite with the idea. I haven't seen much of the "forbidden love" type drama (from the tags), but I was worried I'd end up dropping it. But in the end, I absolutely LOVED IT. I found myself wishing away my days just for the next episodes to come out, and here we are.STORY:
Wei Qian took has been taking care of his sister, Wei Li Li, ever since the loss of their parents. After meeting Wei Zhiyuan, he took him in after some time since he seemed to be an orphan. Qian works alongside a gang to help provide for his family but once they all begin to grow up, he quits. Zhiyuan, whose had a long time crush on Qian, makes a move and results in angering Wei Qian. Yuan gets sent abroad for his actions, but did it really make things better, or did it make things worse?
What can I say about this other than it was a masterpiece? At first I was concerned for the whole brother thing, but over time it grew on me. "Unknown" is something you can easily get attached to with all the characters and the interesting story. I must say, I think I cried a little bit when the gun scene came around, as well as the nc scene. I had been waiting EPISODES for that scene ever since I found out about it and I think I cried for the fact I was like "FINALLY."
LIKED:
-The character development of both Qian and Yuan.
-The story overall
-Sam Lin🙏🏽
-The love for one another (the caring that each character had for each other)
-Flash backs
-No genuine love rival
-Confidence of Yuan a lil over halfway through the series
DISLIKES:
. . .
OVERALL:
Unknown is just a great series and deserves a lot of recognition for its cinematography, story, and actors. I loved the development through the episodes as it went on and the chemistry between the two actors. If I could watch this for the first time again, I would.
"People come and go in life. Being fortunate enough to have someone who stays by your side through thick and thin is a blessing. I've lost. I've found. I've found a home, a family, and a person I want to love for the rest of my life. You taught me that I should learn to carry the burdens of my own actions, just as you carried Lili and me, and kept the path to home, open. And I'll follow you down this road I chose, no matter how difficult it may be, life or death, no regrets. No matter who you are to me, from now on, no matter what happens, till death do us part. " -Wei Zhiyuan

chaos
I was so hyped for this series, considering that Star In My Mind wasn't the best, but I liked the pairing. I was hoping they would get better series together especially with the "Hidden" Agenda. Which.. WHAT HIDDEN AGENDA? I see nothing hidden.Don't get me wrong, I love joongdunk. Although they don't have the best series together, their chemistry is pretty good. But that isn't enough to save this.
First off, the story? Where was it supposed to be going? It didn't start off strong. Just a boy that likes a pretty popular girl and asks for help by that girls ex. While wanting help, he falls for the ex. This story fell apart BIG TIME. The average "take off your glasses to not look like a nerd and look hot" thing is very stupid tbh. At that point, just start him off looking "hot."
The random stalker plot was NOTTTT it. It lasted an EPISODE. SINGULAR. I would rather have that for AT LEAST like 2-4 episodes, or just scratch that idea entirely, because, what was the point in the first place??
The debate thing was a little cool I guess. It was different from what I've seen, but I wish it took more part, especially in real world problems.
And the random part where Pat basically sold out his information to Joke? Honestly, I WOULD NOT be happy. I don't care if they throw a dumb lil party for me and expect me to forgive them. Where's the trust? I feel like they should've touched up more on that instead of just having Zo basically forgive them right away.
The acting? Meh. Nothing to point out specifically.
In my opinion, in the nicest way possible, Dunk needs to take acting classes or something. He always has the same expressions, the random things he does w his head, his acting is just. It's not it..😭
Joong? His acting could be better. But, he needs better roles!!!!
Together, I believe they both have potential. Just, they ain't there yet.
Overall? Would NOT recommend.
If you REALLYYYY like JoongDunk and the chemistry, then go for it. Personally, I wouldn't waste your time. It just seemed like SIMM with different characters and with them in a debate club.

WELL, THEY WERE DEFINITELY IN LOVE!!
Boys in love, what was it about? Well, boys in love!! Boys in love is a nostalgic reminder of how it feels to fall in love for the first time, and how messy, awkward, and wonderful that can be.Set against the backdrop of a new school term, this series delivers exactly what it promises: innocent romance, genuine chemistry, and relatable coming-of-age struggles.
It's not the most groundbreaking story you’ll find in the BL genre, but what makes it work is the sincerity and simplicity of its execution.
The main couples, Shane & Kit and Kim & Mon, are two sides of the same coin. Shane is the perfectionist tutor reluctantly drawn to Kit’s chaotic charm, while Kim is the shy, daydreamy boy crushing hard on the new student Mon. These characters don’t rely on tropes as much as they reflect real personalities: insecure, hopeful, and sometimes scared to admit their feelings.
Special credit goes to Chokun and Aston (Kim and Mon) whose natural chemistry makes even their quietest scenes feel loud. Their glances feel loaded. Their awkward silences? Completely endearing.
Underneath the romance, Boys In Love also explores themes of self-acceptance, friendship, and breaking expectations, especially the unspoken ones that society, school, and even family place on young people. There’s a softness to how the show handles identity, it doesn't rush to label everything. It just lets these characters feel what they feel.
FLAWS:
The slow pacing might not be for everyone. Some episodes feel more like emotional snapshots than major plot moves. And while the chemistry between leads is strong, I feel like we could've gotten more from the other couple(s). The dialogue, at times, dips into cliché, but never enough to distract from the overall charm.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS:
Boys In Love isn’t trying to be the next genre-defining BL but it’s trying to make you remember your first love. And in that mission, it succeeds beautifully. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, sincere, and just a little bit awkward (in the best way), this one deserves a spot on your watchlist!! (also I'd say the cat is a HUGE bonus)
