A Missed Opportunity: Tired Tropes and Unused Talent
Having watched Maid’s Revenge and Forever Love, I found that both offered much stronger storylines than this drama. While the lead actor has undeniable charm and talent, it often feels like his potential is wasted as he’s reduced to just eye candy. The plot relies heavily on tired tropes—revenge, the male lead rescuing the female lead, and the female lead consistently getting into trouble. Many of his recent dramas seem to follow this repetitive formula, leaving little room for fresh, engaging narratives.
Story-wise, this drama felt boring to me. Despite my initial reservations, I stuck with it rather than dropping it midway, but ultimately, it failed to captivate. If the focus shifted towards more innovative storytelling and truly leveraging the actor’s abilities, it might have stood out from the crowd.
