Roseville, CA--but a New Yauwker till I croak!
On My First Love Jan 10, 2018
I'm confused after watching both. Maybe I conked out for a few minutes, but does he go back and forth in time because he seems to be reading a newspaper in the past for a death that occurs in his future?

I'm at epi 8, and I haven't continued. It's wearing me out even though I'm a huge fan of Ji Sung and love him. Not sure if I'll continue on.... I'm especially sympathetic to the mental health issues which makes me feel disloyal for wanting to abandon this one.

Title Last Minute Romance Spoiler
This drama was an unexpected little surprise. It was a short and sweet, plus charming with a cute, funny and clever concept that was played well. It didn't matter at all that romance was inevitable, especially considering how it ended.

Wae? Wae? Wae? This beautiful, talented, young man--this is such a devastating and heartbreaking loss. My heart is breaking for the inner pain he suffered, his family, friends, and fans all over the world.

I feel like this whole premise is rather bizarre and I quit watching episode 3 because it started to feel like zombies were going to appear next. Not what I expected or hoped for.

Title You're Too Much Spoiler
Well, I slugged through it and finished. Gu Hye Seon is lucky she was able to bow out gracefully. I really couldn't stand her replacement--pinch-faced, goodytwoshoes Hae Dang throughout. It was clear Jang Hee Jin couldn't sing or dance right from her first episode, and so all of those scenes had to be avoided from that point forward which was a shame since they were terrific in the beginning prior to the switch. There were so many things just plain wrong with this drama. Sappy Hae Dang's Mother-Teresa-like forgiveness and speeches to everyone throughout the series no matter how badly she was treated and especially during the final two episodes turning all of the evil-bitches and bros into cheerful, happy, get-along-with-no-problem, heartwarming personalities was so annoying and flat-out ridiculous. Yoo Jin Na's alternate universe temperament swap was insane! She should have come back one last time to wreak a little more havoc at the very end. Hae Dang's emotional infidelity was outrageous and unbelievable. How she went from loving Kyung Soo to hurting him and "wholeheartedly" falling for Hyun Joon was fairly inexplicable--especially since Kyung Soo was the equivalent of a saint...especially in that household. The characters and their trajectories were so outlandish, as I wrote before, the weekly agony was campy, trashy fun! Thank goodness for the bickering and battling comedy break interactions between Baek Mi Suk and Hae Jin--they were something to look forward to each week.

This series had potential, but I found the Yoon Joo character to be extremely unlikable and irritating. Why was she so angry and defensive all of the time? There was no real backup for her hostile attitude toward her coworkers and the man she supposedly fell for. The ending just fell flat and I was left wondering if there might be more episodes to follow because it all felt half-baked; the culmination of the romances felt incomplete and the OTP final scene felt forced.

Almost every single character in this drama is "Too Much!" It's so over-the-top, it's fun and campy!

The ending lines about love were very memorable. The lead character annoyed me at times--she wasn't very nice, kind or caring towards her childhood bff, and she was quick to overreact with anger towards her and others. That bothered me and made her a little less sympathetic and likable.

Title Prominent Woman Spoiler
The beginning of this brief series got my attention, but it faded by the time I got to episode 5. I felt some pity--when she realized her date was fake, but any emotional connection started and ended with that. She seemed self-centered rather than confident to me, and not particularly likable as the storyline fell flat all around her.

I loved this drama. There was no aigoo for a change, which made it so enjoyable for me. The storyline and relationships were refreshingly cute, funny, and touching, even deeply poignant where the grandfather's role came in. The ensemble cast worked well together, and the theme songs were so well-integrated and played at the most appropriate, meaningful moments. I feel that this series was thoroughly enjoyable. So what if we had to suspend reality a bit for the final episode--I mean, c'mon, the guy came into the future and went back via a typhoon--it's all part-fantasy... I would say, just go with it, relax and enjoy without adding morality rules re romances or expecting the time swap to be 100% logical!

Usually, doctor dramas are too gory for me to tolerate. This one gives you the feeling you're in the operating room without any explicit, disgusting shots. The storyline themes are much broader than just a romantic angle branching out to include ethical issues going against the coldhearted but I guess realistic standpoint of the financial goals of the hospital's CEO whose interest focuses mainly on investors and the $$$ bottom line. I haven't finished the series yet, but the characters aren't one-sided or simple, and their dedication to their profession is admirable as we become privy to a complex society within hospital walls.

My summary: Chicago Typewriter--outstanding! An intelligent, taut, compelling, carefully-crafted storyline. The series featured a beautifully-touching, witty, comedic bromance along with a fierce, stirring, loyal 3-way friendship. Excellent writing, acting, and directing delivery. A gift to viewers.
