You provided us with a marvelous review evocative of the fine writing we've come to expect from the story's literary figures--our 3-way leads in the drama. Thank you.
My summary: Chicago Typewriter--outstanding! An intelligent, taut, compelling, carefully-crafted storyline. The series featured a beautifully-touching, witty, comedic bromance along with a fierce, stirring, loyal 3-way friendship. Excellent writing, acting, and directing delivery. A gift to viewers.
I discovered this by accident while dinking through Netflix. It's adorable! Having just retired myself, I completely sympathize with the storyline of a lifetime worker suddenly confronting the reality of needing to find new ways to challenge himself as he inadvertently discovers new experiences each day. This is his chance to take advantage of a whole new lifestyle, learning how to enjoy this new phase with some courage and passion. I love shows that feature cooking and then eating with authority and zest--like Let's Eat, Drinking Solo, Delicious Proposal, Happy Home, the Midnight Diner series, etc. and this show doesn't disappoint. Sweet, charming, and funny as our retiree learns to be forthright and bold, like a Samurai.
The atmosphere was very compelling. The storyline started out that way, too, however, when it was over, I felt like I had more questions than any answers. There was no explanation as to what made this man turn into a serial killer. If that was the case, wouldn't the townfolk see this in the news even if Hye Jin didn't have a tv? I think this would be big news all over the country--a killer on the loose who evaded police capture for so long. So much was ambiguous and left unexplained...
Biggest waste of time ever. I got so fed up at the endless back-and-forth, the obnoxious, stalking sister, the mother screeching, "Naga!" to her son that she'd then demand come back home, that I quit watching for about 6 months. I went back the other day, watched 83 & 84 with no changes then skipped to the final two episodes. What a crappy ending. You can't even look forward to ba Big Kiss! Good characters going absolutely nowhere.
He always plays the most wonderful, caring, kindhearted, loyal and faithful men. Instead of forever being attracted only to hot, sexy, badass guys, it's refreshing to fall for a handsome, sweet man with a beautiful smile who stays true to the values and ethics his characters portray. Thank you for profiling this charming, likable and lovable actor.
This story is so arty, I'm having a hard time following what's going on, however, that being said, I'm still enjoying the visuals and the two onscreen magnetic personalities.
