Oh wow, so there is some serious racism in a certain scene in episode 18.. I gotta say I am kinda really offended. And that would have to be a first for me.

NJH is terrible at acting and his character isn't cool or funny just punchable
I haven't had a chance to watch Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo yet. Although I did watch Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. I can't really give too much of an opinion on his acting in that because I felt the drama could have been written so much better and I didn't really enjoy the Korean version of that drama.
On a side note, it looks like both JHN and SSK has only been acting since 2014 but JHN has only really been in a hand full of things and this is only his second major role so I will most likely use this drama as a whole to see how he handles it. While SSK has had multiple major roles and hopefully has at least shown some improvement. (But she is a far cry from the horrendous acting that is Kristen steward that is just plain mean)

Yeah, it's that double standard in play again. I don't really have too much of a problem with either of their acting so far. They are not my favorite actress/actor but I also have not seen a significant amount of drama with either of them in it to have a good opinion either.
But if I did have to compare their acting to some that I believed to be amazing than yeah their acting could use some polishing.

American tv also produces alto of trash too... sooo I would put too much in that. And also American Tv aim for multiple season with the goal of years not a few episodes. So how it is viewed should be different to an extent

Exactly, also you can't begin watching this drama thinking that it is going to be closely following the manga, because from these two episodes we can obliviously tell that it not. I am a fan of the manga so I look forward to seeing where this drama is take.
But in most Thai lakorn i have seen there is a rape scene. In thai culture is is big there is even two words for it, Khom kheuun is what Thais would use to describe rape as a criminal act while Bplum, however, is much more complicated. Bplum starts as forceful and violent, but can sometimes end with the establishment of a relationship. And this second one is what is usually fouund in thai dramas.
