It's always nice to discuss different points of the drama. :)

I agree that the best part of this drama is how it's not dramatic. It's got an easy-going vibe and that's what makes it so unique. I really like that! :)

You're right. If Chilbong hadn't challenged Trash, he never would have stepped up to win over Na Jeong. Anyway, from the beginning Na Jeong loved Trash and Trash only. However I also like how friendly and caring she was towards Chilbong too. The poor guy was 'friend-zoned' from the beginning.

I will never understand why so many fans expected that Chilbong would be getting the girl? Clearly, the writer didn't have much of an intention to go in that direction. Chilbong was included just for the mystery husband case. Of course, he was cool as an individual and had some awesome friends too. :D

I would have been fine with Na Jeong choosing either guy. They were both awesome in their own ways. :)
If you read what I've written above you'll see how how I said the drama would have rocked if Chilbong had been fully utilized. By saying that I didn't mean that Na Jeong should have chosen him. I was just not happy with how he was thrown aside for some episodes just so that Na Jeong and Trash could progress romantically. When he came back, it felt sudden and forced. His character should have been given more importance and not just used as an excuse to create a love triangle. Ah, well.

When I look at Reply 1997 even though the characters were so close to each other and so comfortable, it never felt like the guy treated the girl as a sibling. From the beginning, his feelings for her were clearer to me than Trash's feelings for Na Jeong. On the other hand, Trash had this persona of an older brother caring for a younger sister. It could also be that I felt that way due to the age gap between the two. He was older, mature one whereas Na Jeong was this little dongsaeng in love with her oppa. Trash was given a place at her home like a real son which also makes their relationship much closer because they never were 'just friends'. He came off more like an adopted brother. That's what made it 'incestuous' to me.
Taking out the 'incest' angle, I liked Trash's character just as much. It's just that I prefer the actor who played Chilbong better than the one who played Trash.

Na Jeong choosing Trash was obvious. I never for a single moment felt like she ever loved Chilbong. Trash was her (creepily incestuous) one-true-love.
I think why so many people preferred Chilbong over Trash was due to the superb acting skills of Yoo Yeon Seok. He was so good!
Too bad the director couldn't sense how this drama would have rocked if Chilbong/Yoo Yeon Seok had been fully utilized. -__-
I'm hating the emperor…. No, I'm hating every character there…. but I still LOVE the drama and enjoy it. btw…
Same feelings here. I think everyone is out of character and unlikable right now (except maybe Wang Yoo & Tal Tal) but I can't hate this drama. I loved it too much till ep 40 to hate it or drop it now.
I had never seen this guy in ANYTHING before Empress Ki but MAHN I gotta say this- he rocks!! Not only is he cute, handsome, pretty but also very talented. I don't think anyone could have pulled off the role better than him.
He is beyond amazing. I haven't crushed on an actor this hard in AGES. <3
So now Ta Hwan became an alcoholic? I hope it won't last long. I always knew this drama would have a tragic ending but aren't they making it so obvious now?
When will she become the Empress any way? They still haven't gotten married yet. SO depressing and amazing. T.T
Pata ni. Maine Empress Ki pe bohot time baad spaz kiya hai. Uske pehle....... pata ni kab kiya tha utna lol.
Shining Inheritance ka share kiya toh tha. :P

Aur haan... main bhi pagal hoti tujhse bhi zyada bas pehle share nahi karti thi aur ab karti hun. :P
It says 51 episodes now! TEN MORE LEFT. And we haven't even reached that first scene in Episode 1! HOW IS THIS…
I do think the revelation about WY and SN's son will come soon. The Empress Dowager is so obsessed with wanting Yuan blood on the throne. It will be known to her sooner or later that both the 'supposed' sons of TH are actually have Goryeo blood in them.
In the first half of the drama, I loved Baby Emperor to death but in the second half, I feel the love coming on…
I'd rather have Tal Tal seduce Seung Nyang and run away together. They have this hot chemistry hehe. <3
*delusional*
Anyway, yup. Happy endings would be great for every one although there never can be one when there's a triangle involved. One person at the end has to have his heart broken.
The 41th episode was almost perfect. Excellent suspense. the only "but" for me was about SN & WY…
Doubt it's gonna happen (although I won't mind it). Now's the time for more political intrigue. I rather enjoy this drama better when romance takes backseat.
I certainly do not want to see Seung Nyang and Ta Hwan together, no no no! I never once thought he was good, selfless…
I agree. Ta Hwan is very, very selfish and obsessed with Seung Nyang. Though that's the fun part, I think. His character is so self-destructive without her- I love that about him.
