⚠️ Review: finally a new plot! I seemingly simple rebirth plot with the real enemy being the past. The FL was too scared to chase her true love and went into an arranged marriage. After 10 years of having letters delivered to her, did she find out he died to protect her and safeguard her future life. Devastated she divorced her husband (she never had feelings for him and it didnt seem like he did either) and focused on devoting herself to buisness and the thin silver bracelet he bought her on her wedding day. The scene that stood out the most to me was when he is chasing her wedding car. It made me cry my eyes out. It nicely mirrored when he finally accepted his ownership of his feelings and saw a girl die in a car accident and the two moved to the next phase of their relationship.

Two power house leads with great chemistry and acting combined with a great script culminates into a phenomenal show about setting yourself free from your past and moving on towards the light/better life. Although it is a bit unfair that the FLs mother never got punished for what she did to her daughter, Im glad they chose to focus on the leads storyline. I may have missed something (Insert frustrated language barrier here) but what happened to the MLs parents? Also, did the grandfather never think to idk... send his grandson to therapy? When the FL's step-cousin sat down next to him at a bar and he said, "i didnt order a stripper..." i laughed so hard i dropped my phone. Now it has a scratch. Well deserved? Idk but it was hilarious. Special shout out to her best friend who deserved more screen time and perhaps her own love story?? (Maybe season 2?) A scene that stood out to me was when the ML was dying and his friend (Liu Xiaoxu) was begging him to hold on. It was raw and emotional and blindsided me. Although, Im not entirely sure why Liu Xiaoxu was there the show was made all the better for it. I'm choosing to think that either he a) wanted to hang out with his Wang buddies or b) theres a second season coming with his story....

⚠️ Review: This drama is a great mix of romance, drama, and humor. The two leads had great chemistry that help move the story along. I think the whole reunion dinner was redundant and they could have spent that time actually delving into why he liked her and his back story but hey im not a screenplay writer. Funniest part was when the mom was giving out properties like she just went to Costco. Lol

Review: Another great performance by Wang Kaimu and Deng Ling Shu. I appreciate that they acknowledged the miscommunication and didnt spend half the show running around in circles. her dad died. they cant change that but they can choose their future and they pair well together. I was a bit confused about his family's plot line. They seemed more central to the story but were left out. Maybe they didnt make it out of the editing room's cutting floor? Either way their story felt unbalanced in the overall plot lines. I liked the cat and the grading system, it added a unique flair to a miscommunication trope that is overly used in chinese vertical drama entertainment.
