Rewatching the last few episodes. That underwater scene between Tutor and Fighter in Episode 10? I could be wrong, but I believe it was totally influenced by the third season of SKAM (a Norwegian teen drama series). That season, which aired in 2016, was centered around a M/M couple. (And yes, there was this pool scene.)
I totally understand the disappointment and frustration felt by fans invested in the Zon/Saifah's story line, as well as those of the side characters.
But I will selfishly admit that I'm only interested in the Fighter/Tutor story. And I feel like a lot of the film footage we've seen of their story would have been left on the cutting room floor if filming had gone the way it was supposed to. So that is the silver lining for me. (Plus they gave us all that extra footage of the beaches, etc. --I guess some of it was filler, but I loved it.)
Now, though, I would really like to read the novel to see how the entire story comes together.
the issue is that they had intended to air the show later in the year and were offered an earlier time slot and…
Yes! When you consider all the possible things that *could* happen, that might affect your decision about when to start filming--you don't really ask the question "What if a global pandemic happens and we haven't finished shooting yet?"
POST-PRODUCTION EDITING RANT: Can we please stop with whatever that editing technique is? The technique where you have 3 slightly overlapping views of the same action--for example, character A kissing character B's hand. You see the medium shot of the kissing, then we immediately cut to the same shot but from a slightly different angle and/or distance, and then we jump to a 3rd close-up view of the same action. OVER-USE of this editing technique IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! Thank you for letting me rant about this.
I'm currently binge-ing Why R U and this guy is a stand-out. Obviously he's good looking and has this amazing deep voice. But more than that, he is able to express a lot through his eyes. I don't speak Thai, and sometimes the English translations look awkward. Yet I feel like I understand a lot about Fighter, when I look at Zee's eyes. Also, I actually think I would like him better in a male/female pairing.
From what I'm reading about book 3 in spoilers, it seems this time it will be Tharn who'll become the immature…
Thank you! Well, I guess that if I want a more mature Type, you can't get more mature than trying to be a Buddhist monk. :-) I do like the idea that as the 2 young men begin their lives together, they realize that they don't agree on everything. That happens in real life!
I didn't read the novel and didn't realize it was translated to English. In the drama (which may be different…
Thank you, dee100, for this explanation! It is hard to understand the flow of time in the series--Is it the next day? Is it one week later? One month later? Maybe in Season 2, the screen will display some captions, for example, "2 Months Later..." or "1 Week Later". I think that would be very helpful. Then there would be no confusion about the time frame. - The only thing I was certain about in Season 1 is that when Type goes home to see his parents in Phangan, he has been Tharn's roommate for 4 months. So *all* the events that happened up to that point, happened in only 4 months.

- Getting married? I thought gay marriage was not legal in Thailand. I know the show is fiction, but still.... - I don't understand what "ordained" refers to. Like, a religious cleric?? Or does this have to do with a specific profession? - My biggest concern (since I have not watched TWM) is that Type will be written the same way as he's written now. That just isn't going to work well, at least not for me. I need to see a more mature Type. - If it's true that they are going to separate, I would love for *Tharn* to be the one to say maybe they should break up. He always hated when a boyfriend said it to him. But it would be nice to see *him* be the one to say it. I want Tharn to learn to be less of a doormat.
Lhong wasn't just some guy that tried to keep Tharn to himself or break up his relationships. Lhong is a violent…
Notice, Lhong did not mention feeling bad about what he did to Tar. He was sorry for what he did to *Tharn*. I realize he's talking to Thorn, but still...the whole scene was pretty tone deaf.
I have mixed feelings about TT Season 2. In TharnType, I really enjoyed the chemistry between Mew and Gulf. I would love to see them together again. I also enjoyed Type's evolution. -- But what would Season 2 look like? More jealousy? Not really interested in that, I saw enough in Season 1. -- Random thoughts, you may not agree: I want to see more growth from Type. After several years with Tharn (which I assume is when Season 2 would start), Type should no longer always lash out impulsively or "speak without thinking". Of course, Type will never change completely, because he is Type. I wonder if Mame can write Type as a more mature person. I hope so. I feel like Gulf can totally do a more complex character than Season 1 Type. -- I think a good conflict would be Type being very busy with new job and sports (maybe coaching a team) and Tharn feeling ignored. -- I don't want to lose the humor from Season 1! I just want the characters (mainly Type) to be a little more grown up.
