Honestly I think the same. I wonder why they changed P'Tee for this Director and the production is also bad. This…
Tee's decision to leave, as I understand.
I also wonder if there was a significant lack of prep time for this season, as others have suggested. I can appreciate trying to get everything done fast--I mean, I'd be worried about someone potentially getting sick and production being shut down indefinitely, part-way thru, like what happened with Why R U. But if production was speeded up, limiting the amount of workshops and such, then I think we're seeing the result.

is anybody else just baffled about how the flipping heck Type made it into - never mind through - medical school?…
In S1, Type was known for being smart. I think Champ or Techno actually mentions that he misses classes or hardly studies or whatever but still manages to get high grades.

Episode III is like 4/10…until the marriage proposal it is okay, then it turns into a cringeworthy Thai soap…
That proposal was so lackluster! It lacked luster. Maybe in Thai culture, marriage proposals are more serious and dignified affairs? Because I didn't see any real excitement (or cute sense of being boyfriend/girlfriend) between Thorn and Am, not like I would expect from a happy couple.

I wonder if there was just not much rehearsal time before this was shot, because everyone seemed to be just reading their lines. Even after the proposal, I expected Tharn and Thanya to do a quick brotherly/sisterly hug at seeing their sibling successfully propose. But nope, they just kind of stood there smiling.

So, is Mom always #1 in Thailand? And for Am, #3 forever is actually good, because Princess is #2? Run, Am, run! That's what I was screaming in my head when I found out Princess was #2 and Thorn was still following her around.

Kind of funny, – in the series Mew plays a highly talented musician, but in real life his songs are best when…
Mew is not a great vocalist, IMO, but I liked Season of You and thought it was a smart choice that made the most of his ability. It fit his range, and the arrangement (nice strings in the background to add some weight and richness to Mew's voice) was well thought out.

The characters don't feel like themselves in this season (I loved season 1 and liked how they evolved there) but…
" But now suddenly he's throwing tantrums because he wants to iron because he feels bad that Tharn's family bought the apartment? Why did Type have to react like that just because Tharn said he didn't need to iron his clothes? "

Aw, I disagree on that one. I think at University, Type was dazzled by Tharn's wealth and didn't mind that Tharn paid for most things. Type was a student with limited funds. But now, 7 years later, Type is a man with a job (for 6 months now, right?) and a salary. And suddenly he is very much aware of how little--if anything--he contributes concretely to the running of the household. Tharn (or his parents) pays for almost everything. Type sees a tiny chance to contribute by doing Tharn's ironing--but no, Tharn doesn't even want him to do that. That's why he blows up at Tharn.

The issue is not the ironing itself; it's that Type feels useless, almost like a "kept" man and not a "real" man. He tries to explain this to Tharn later that night, and that's the scene I had an issue with. I thought it was underperformed (is that a word?), and I never felt Tharn truly grasped how Type was feeling.

Same. Agree with that about those side couples. Besides that neighbor couple is cute, but they seem like they…
I do wonder how much homophobia is an issue in Bangkok, which is a big city. Do most major businesses in Bangkok--and most business colleagues--care that much if an employee is gay, bi, whatever? I'm just curious.

Of course, you can always have individual co-workers or bosses who are homophobic or have other biases. Most people I know in the work place keep their private life private for just that reason. So I'm with Type on this one. It's nobody's business.
To give credit where credit is due, I quite like the Off Chainon theme song for this season of Tharn/Type. I actually treadmilled for 30 minutes with this song on repeat. :-)

Also: I'm hoping that Tharn and Type break up soon. (Is Episode 4 or 5 asking too much?) They may love each other, but they do not share the same vision of their life together. They have reached an impasse. I mean, 2 episodes in, we get the situation.

Personally, I don't want to watch many more episodes of Tharn being unhappy in the relationship (and always asking forgiveness every time there's an argument) and Type being unhappy because Tharn isn't happy with the status quo.

Both Tharn and Type have the right to feel how they feel. But I hope a break-up happens sooner rather than later. These guys need some time apart. I suppose this doesn't happen in the novel, but I would love to see Tharn realize that he can survive without Type if he has to. And I want Type to understand what life would really be like without Tharn. (And then I want them to get back together. :-) )

In theory, you have a point. In reality, it doesn't always work that way. Often, the people who expose "incomptetent assholes" are the ones who get the boot. The asshole does not lose their job. This happens more often than you think, at least in the U.S.
Example: I was moved under a new boss who was incompetent (he didn't even know what I did or how I did it). He treated me disrespectfully and made my life miserable in many ways. But the boss was a good friend of our Department Head. I went to our Human Resources (Personnel) department to let them know what was happening to me. They did not care. In that situation, I ended up forced to leave. (Fortunately, I found a new company that treated me great.) The Department Head and the incompetent asshole boss are still at the old company. I heard later that several other excellent employees were also forced out by the same incompetent boss.

If I understood correctly, there is a young female nurse who has been dating Type's much older boss ("cradle robber", Type calls his boss).

The boss believes that Type is trying to hit on the nurse--steal her from him. (In reality, it's the nurse who is hitting on Type, even though Type told her "no".)

So the boss is jealous and angry at Type. It looks like he wants to get Type fired. As Type says, "He can't control his woman and took it out on me."

IMHO, Type needs to find another place to work quickly, before the boss causes him lose his accreditation or license or whatever his credentials are.

I'm not enjoying this at all. Even the shower scene last ep seemed contrived and it was a bad ripoff of the car…
The two scenes "woven" together that way was an idea actually taken from an older movie, but I cannot remember the older movie's name. :-( I actually own Testament of Love and Covenant of Grace. Nice to know someone else has heard of them.

I do think the director had Techno puking as a "wink" at what was happening in the bathroom.

But the actual technique of juxtaposing a scene of intense action (like passionate sex) with a scene that is -not- intense (likeTechno's silly puking) *can* be really well done.

In the gay movie "The Falls: Testament of Love", you see a married-to-a-woman, closeted, gay Mormon man meeting his one-time male lover in a hotel room at night--supposedly to talk briefly and put closure to their former relationship. But they end up together in bed in a very passionate encounter. Spliced in with the passionate sex are scenes of the closeted man's wife celebrating her sales success at her new company (she dances to music and applause and I think there's confetti, and it's all so innocent and wholesome). Really effective and a bit jarring.

Warda_08, yeah, seriously! Thorn following his movie star (?) sister around everywhere, I forgot about that. Even Type pointed out that Thorn needed to stop it. That is creepy.

Hmm. I wonder if you are right. I did not get that impression, but I guess it could be.

I think the enjoyment of all BL or even all romance, is the chase. Once the main couple come together and weather…
You said "I think we should not expect much except the sheer enjoyment of watching two very good looking and pretty talented actors who not only have genuine chemistry but seem to be really good friends who enjoy each other’s company and just have a fun roller coaster of a ride which is bound to be this drama".

That is your opinion. I disagree. I do not enjoy 2 good-looking, pretty-talented actors when the story, acting, and dialog, and general production values are shockingly mediocre. I certainly hope the series gets better, because so far I am not feeling that it is a "fun roller coaster of a ride". Even you are just speculating about that--you said "bound to be". You don't know that it *will* be, and so far, IMHO, we have no proof.
Just rewatched with the corrected subtitles. Now I can truly appreciate how bad the script is.
--Bad Acting Alert-- When basketball player goes to emergency room, and he's crying hysterically to the nurse.
--Side-Eye Alert-- Champ is clueless when Doc and Type mention "ACL tear" and "PT". Oh, come on. Champ played soccer (football) in college and has been a boxer for at least 7 years. I have a hard time believing he doesn't know what those terms mean. Heck, even I know what Doc and Type were saying, and I don't participate much in sports.
--Please, No Alert-- Tharn suggests that if he had been around when Phugun met Cirrus, Phugun would have had some competition. Silly comment that should have been excised from the script. And stop making Tharn's entire character about being a horndog (well, to be more accurate, a horndog who apologizes whenever Type gets angry at him).

AnniaD, I agree that Tharn's character development is disappointing. As I said on another forum, I don't see much change from his character in TTTS-1. I, too, find it disturbing that Tharn feels he must apologize for being upset that Type wants to keep their relationship mostly a secret. (They are only out to family and close friends.)

I understand that T/T cannot get married (at least not in Thailand), but Type doesn't even want most people to know he and Tharn are a couple. This is huge--Tharn has to be asking himself, "Do I want a life where my relationship has to remain a secret?" He doesn't need to apologize for it. It's a valid concern.

jpny01--haha, "show, don't tell", exactly. You are spot on about Techno's exposition, it was just so...awkward. It seems like every character from S1 has managed to reference their college freshman year.
