I don't really get what the lady that follows CDH around is. It seems like she's an assistant, but never there during official professional settings and seems more like his personal fixer, but is also a wealthy lady in her own right
But that last scene… are they hinting at a part 2??
That's why I mentioned OTTs, and no I don't watch cable and haven't for 15 years, but it is still a metric they use to determine popularity of a show. Also, this was a weekend show so I don't know why you are comparing it's ratings to a weekday show
But that last scene… are they hinting at a part 2??
Even if that was their plan, which I doubt, the ratings would never greenlight a 2nd season. I think it maxed out at like 2% viewership and it didn't even chart on OTTs
well i never understood why he got hired and then they fired FL - and expected her to train him - i was like "wth!…
He wasn't hired with the expectation of taking someone's job though. Mi Kyung was training him before the company got bought, that's when they (corporate/ML) decided that he was her "replacement." Before the merger, they saw it as they needed another employee since they are busy a lot. As far as I could tell, he actually has a degree in the field, which is why he wasn't on the chopping block but MK was, since on paper she was just there
Yeah the 3 year thing felt like a lot, especially since not much really has changed. It could have been a 2 month…
The Maroo was the potato labs, not her potato. It was the potato she and Baek Ho argued about between the American Marshall and Potato Labs Maroo somewhere near the middle of the drama
Yeah it was completely pointless, probably just to add more "quirkiness" to the character I guess? I think (could be wrong) being vegan is very rare in SK, so I think that was the whole point behind it
This started out good but slowly became boring and the last episode was kind of lame. Not the actors fault but…
Yeah the 3 year thing felt like a lot, especially since not much really has changed. It could have been a 2 month skip and been the exact same, better even really since the boss was acting like he JUST got the position, but apparently has had it for 3 years
He couldn't eat the abalone porridge either, so he won't eat fish. Authentic kimchi is made with anchovies. They make vegan ones, sure, but an elderly couple that isn't vegan definitely would be using anchovies in theirs
My assumptions about the finale were almost perfect, the only thing I got wrong was the way the potato shortage got handled. I never would have expected the newbie to be agricultures golden child lol. It does make you question why he waited so long to ask his parents though lol. He legitimately likes all his colleagues and just watched them work their asses off for days/weeks trying to drum up enough potatoes when he could have solved it with 1 phone call.
Overall, this drama was a pretty decent, easy watch, but nothing great and nothing I would entertain rewatching. I give it a 7, if you could do 1/4s it would be a 7.25 but def not worth going all the way to 7.5 to me
I agree, but he only feels bad because it is now affecting him. He still wouldn't give a shit if it wasn't Mi…
I'm pretty sure I know the finale, and honestly just going to watch it to see how right I am. I actually don't care any more and wouldn't finish it if it was more than 1 episode lol. I'm not holding out hope that the writers will have his redemption be anything special.
I think I might in the minority for liking this drama much MORE for allowing the ML to have 100% done wrong in…
I agree, but he only feels bad because it is now affecting him. He still wouldn't give a shit if it wasn't Mi Kyung 6 years ago, and him knowing she will be (then is) rightfully pissed off at him. Hell, he didn't even remember her name or put it together until he saw Ki Se crying on her shoulder at the funeral
The most unbelievable part to me so far is the fact that Hui Jin said Ki Se tried to break it off before he went back to Korea. It's obvious that Mi Kyung is the person he cares for the most, seeing all the past scenes that were the cause for Hui Jin leaving him, but he is definitely the type of person to cared more about the status of being the chairmans son-in-law more than Mi Kyung from the start, and obviously more than Hui Jin who he just saw as a payday.
Honestly, her brother is the only more main character that's decent. Mi Kyung is probably the least bad out of the rest, but still bad. She is hot tempered and can be abusive, even though the "abusive" scenes were done for laughs and hasn't happened since the first half. Baek Ho has lived his entire adult life as the companies resident asshole, who's paid to be that, and is only now realizing that he is trash because it's now affecting him personally. Ki Se should just jump off a cliff, preferably one where the landings concrete. Hui Jin I'm assuming never had a real relationship so clung to Ki Se since he was the first, and grew up getting what she wanted, so she is uldimately responsible for all 4 mains unhappiness right now; even though I'm glad she did follow him back because it would have been worse for Mi Kyung once they got married and Ki Se found another rich spoiled girl to exploit. Ong Ju only thinks about sex and herself, Her reasoning for not telling Mi Kyung she caught Ki Se cheating was ridiculous. It's not like she would have been slandering him, she legitimately caught him with his OTHER fiancee trying on wedding dresses. Nobody would blame their friend for bringing that to their attention. If they (Ki Se and Ong Ju) had a good relationship, and Ki Se told Mi Kyung in the next few days, it could be understandable since he asked to be the one to tell her. But she just sat with that info for months?!? The far side should have been a week, realistically within days
Didn't they make a big deal out of ML being a vegan for like the entire show? Why would he care about and eat the homemade kimchi from the village elder?!? It's completely against his diet, but they make a scene about that after all the times his veganism was brought up and that seems really weird to me
It's a happy ending, but the implied relationship is very quick and literally the last scene; there's a kiss,…
I just finished it and I think the ending was good. Like Eleison said, there was really no romance other than it being implied, but the wrap up was done pretty well
From the point the Chairwoman got arrested, her entire story line was just a full blown makjang. Her over the top craziness and changes to the school etc were way too extreme compared to the rest of the show and it really detracted from the whole drama for me.
The driving range issue was so dumb and it's ridiculous that it took so long to handle. Replacing the nets that are broken and allowing that crazy amount of golf balls through should be common practice and required to even keep operating. The place is always busy so it's not like they couldn't afford them lol
Through ep 2 and the ML is agitating as hell. He’s just an over the top asshole to her, forced that ridiculous contract on her that basically boiled down to leave him alone, yet he is for no reason inserting himself into everything she does and every conversation she has unwarranted. I’ll give it another episode or 2 because I like the FL character and Lee Se Young in general, but if there isn’t at least a better explanation of his behavior soon I’m out.

2. Official in like ep 9ish, unofficially around late 6 early 7 (they're actually together, just not labelled)
3. Kind of? FL is VERY mad at ML, but doesn't want to end it really, he thinks they are and she gets more mad, still happening at end of 11
4. It's obviously heading that way, but it's not over yet to say for sure
Honestly, her brother is the only more main character that's decent.
