Just watch it- it’s a good watch
Not what i expected at all. I originally ignored this drama because of its cringe comedy style and editing, but i came back to it purely because of a youtube video of Hyung-shik kissing bong soon and then this drama became quite literally addictive. I watched all 16 episodes in maybe 3 days? It is really good, the acting is top notch, the soundtrack is kinda cringe but lovable and the characters are just works of art. My only complaint would be too many comedic side stories to handle, but the highschool gangsters subplot was too funny and lovable to reject (It also brung out a different side to bong soon in my opinion). But these side stories are easily skipped, so don’t worry and watch this drama.This part kind of includes a character description but it’s not really a spoiler
I wanted to devote a paragraph to kim jang hyun and the actor who played him (Jang mi kwan). Jang hyuns character was beautiful. An obsessive kidnapper who idolises an abusive play? His character is crafted so well, and the acting!! Jang mi kwan plays this role so well (And he is very good looking i have to say but still keeps his role hateable and villainous which is really impressive to me) the acting is top notch. I was really disappointed to find he’s only been in 4 dramas, and had barely noticeable roles in the other 3, i hope he gets a main or supporting role soon!! Anyway his role was really good and i seriously think he is such a good actor. So that’s the end of my paragraph about him.
I also wanted to note the brother and his now love interest are so bloody annoying and seriously need to start ceasing to exist. That’s all.
Also- Mr gong? My man needs to get himself a partner- i feel bad for him third wheeling all the time.
The feces wine thing had me rolling on the floor for hours, i was actually dying.
And the grandma- she’s a baddie icl.
All in all- great drama- you should watch. Ik people on here can be quite critical, but ignore them and just watch it. It’s super good !

Polished movie- good watch!
I really liked this movie. It has a strong moral, interesting characters, a good plot and a good representation of manipulation, school bullying, the highschool environment and social hierarchy, and exclusion. It represents the hypocritical and toxic natures of the school environment through a clean plot and good acting, with good filming and relevant music. So, if you’re looking for my green light to watch it- do! It’s a very clean and consistent movie- a rarity nowadays tbh. It’s a good watch and i’d probably watch it again. Plot twist also twists your brain a bit. A good watch! So, i give you the green light to watch this if your sitting on the fence about it.Was this review helpful to you?
Amazing movie! Great for a binge, good acting!
I have no criticisms of this movie other than maybe more romance. The plot is amazing, everything is amazing, even the choice of dialogue and the styling is amazing. the main character, even though sometimes she doesn’t even say anything, her face is so expressive. you can tell her feelings from just a blank face. The male lead sort of portrays a great perspective of different emotions. This movie is not only good plotwise, but shows an amazing emotional journey as well. Would 10/10 recommend you to watch, has some great scenes and is overall very clean.Was this review helpful to you?
crap, completely different from the webtoon, cringe & too cliche
spoiler warning if you haven’t read webtoonok so i finished true beauty and honestly i liked the first 8 or so eps and then it just became a really crappy and inaccurate time skip in which seojun gets completely rejected and suho disappears for only 5 seconds and then comes right back like a cockroach 🐕. they changed way too many things and it’s a completely different story to the webtoon where they don’t even give seojun a chance and they don’t build suho and jugyeong’s relationship to the point where it feels like two strangers off the street are snogging 😀. it was way too rushed and the display of suhos character was crap and it completely ignored the webtoon.
i was really disappointed with this and the only reason i continued watching was hwang in yeop. best actor there + best played character

Artistic and abstract display of emotions- good watch
This movie is colourful, creative, painful, fascinating. It holds a very artistic flair contained within the bright scenes and sets depicting gut wrenching emotion as lilico is trapped in a rabbit hole surrounded by her own greed- it has a nice mystery edge and is just generally very very interesting. the acting is good and the creative direction is superb, the story is interesting and keeps you hooked. a good watch, so watch it. I watched this a while back but recalled it just to write a review as i enjoyed it so much- this movie is true to its name in its nature and plot, quite a helter skelterWas this review helpful to you?
one of the best dramas ive ever watched
how to describe this drama?i could go on and on and on about how perfect it is.
honestly, im crying right now because the ending had me super emotional.
to start, deuk pal is such a good man. his heart is so pure. he's selfless, respectful and always stands up for whats right, even if it costs him.
yihyeon is also a good human too, i was touched by his selflessness at the end.
this drama squeezes comedy, action, drama, suspense and friendhship into a perfectly paced 8 episode format and has honestly one of the best structured plotlines ive seen in a drama.
it teaches life lessons, good morality and how embodying good values without being pushed over are truly essential to live a good life.
the plot twists were unpredictable and this drama balances all of its subgenres perfectly.
whilst being amazing on the surface, high school return of the gangster is beautiful beyond it as well, and i honestly think this is one of the best dramas ever.
i highly recommend it, this is one of the best dramas ive ever watched.
the actibg is also incredible, the actors playing yihyeeon, jaemin dongsoo and mikyung highly impressed me for their incredible performance, but the entire cast is incredible, i hope they all gain recognition from their roles.
watch this drama - its truly a masterpiece.
