Yes the makeup can impress the uncouth. The training both Ml received in order to be convincing onnagata is impressive. We might miss things in their impersonation, but for the japanese, who raved about the movie, must have been beyond convincing. I liked the acting within the acting actors acting their roles and the onnagata roles like a reverse 4th wall. Imo that's direction . This move has elements to become a classic.

Forever grateful that Netflix is picking up asadoras. Almost at the end of this one was curious since it bombed with low ratings . Although i didn't learn much from this one as for example Tora ni tsubasa or Mampuku , I found it an enjoyable enjoyable watch.
Love the clothes he wears. They are descriptive of the character. Also the way his actual voice was shifted to give the character some sort of steely edge. Only Takahashi Issei can pull off that headdress and look cool.

Breaks the mood continuity, Nakajima 's lipstick, way over the top, Nandemo Yaro's hair. Was it necessary? Did it add anything to the character? I don't think so.

Lately Netflix is upping the ante in my side of the world. Before it was K-dramas and just a few J dramas. Now they are even showing the classics and recently started broadcasting an asadora. Happy they are showing this little gem.
