I very much agree with you. I do think we are starting to slowly see that growth in Qin. After the make-up hug while they sit together, Qin does ask Duang if there is anything he should change so the relationship can improve and last for years to come. We are starting to see Qin express more and more of his emotions for Duang. I am hoping, like in the novel, that he improves in expressing his romantic feelings over time.
Another area I think Qin really needs to improve upon is noticing when his partner's pain or needs exceed his own, and knowing when to apologize. When Duang came back to the apartment, Qin asked why Duang didn't stay during his argument with Tiw. He then added that he really needed Duang in that moment. I found that to be a very selfish statement, showing that Qin could not see the situation from Duang's point of view. Duang thought he was about to lose Qin to another man and was rightfully upset. In the apartment, Qin plays it off as if Duang should have known better. Yes, Qin did throw away the teddy bear to prove a point, but only after he argued against everything Duang expressed. Seeing Qin listen to Duang's point of view and then apologize without argument is future growth I would love to see.
There is a version of dating culture that treats choices like drive-thru orders: smile, skim the menu, pick fast,…
Your analysis is as beautiful and poignant as always! I read the situation a little bit differently and I would love your take. I do not think Qin changed at all from one situation to the other. I believe the outcome changed all due to the reaction of the guy who was chasing him at the moment. Duang gave Qin all the time he needed to be chased, and live in whatever title he needs at the moment. Most would argue that when you are practically living together and have a physical relationship you are no longer in the talking stage. All of their friends find it weird they still consider their relationship in the talking stage. Duang doesn't care what they call it as long as Qin is by his side. Duang has proven over and over again that he is not going anywhere. Qin is now his home, both in the good and bad times. With Tiw, while we don't see much in the flashbacks, it seems like right when Qin was just getting used to being chased and starting to catch feelings Tiw decided to give up. Yes, Qin did not put his feelings into words, but I would bet he showed just as many small actions with Tiw that he did with Duang. The big difference to me is that Duang noticed all of the small actions, while Tiw didn't. Duang was willing to be patient, while Tiw wanted instant gratification. Duang wants all of Qin, while Tiw wanted Qin to match his level. Duang is the exact right partner for Qin because he understands Qin's love languages.
I can’t decided if Arnold is purposely messing with Tua or not. Is he clueless about Tua’s feelings? Does he like him only as a friend? Does he like him back? Or does he know Tua’s feelings for him and is using those feelings as a play toy? It is the last option that I am afraid of. Tua seems so innocent and is latching onto everything Arnold does that can be interpreted as interest, but Arnold might know this and be playing with him on purpose. Giving Tua just enough so he keeps liking him, but not enough for Tua to be confident that Arnold likes him back, and that’s how Arnold wants it. Devotion without commitment.
While everyone is talking about the post-credit scenes, I am still over here laughing at Rome sending the kids in to ruin the wedding night. It is such a little brother thing to do. 🤣
All of us old-school BL watchers unite. My heart can’t take this emotional sugar coated Krist/Singto reunion.…
Yes, the emotional support group starts tonight and should come with plenty of Kleenex, and a beverage of choice depending on how strong of a support you need.
I also cannot wait to read your beautiful, comedic, and life giving recap of the episode.
P' Yong, you clearly know what went down, don't you?! Can you slide into my DMs and spill the tea?! I'm DYING…
All of us old-school BL watchers unite. My heart can’t take this emotional sugar coated Krist/Singto reunion. What kills me even more is I won’t be able to watch the episode until tonight. From the looks of the comments it will be worth the wait. Thank you drama gods for finally hearing our Sotos loving-OG shipping prayers!!!!!!
Also, I agree with you on wanting the breakup tea. Even without watching the episode I know I want the tea lol.
Thank you!!!!! I am so glad someone else is screaming at the screen “turn him into a vampire!,” because I…
We are all screaming together. I guess we will call it trauma bond screaming. What got me even more worked up today was Tong saying point blank that his wish was to be immortal. You would think that would warrant some kind of conversation. I can’t tell if the writers are being smart and making Mark evasive on purpose, or if that is just my wishful thinking and really they are just trying to avoid being a Twilight copycat.
Off topic, but the writers also missed a golden opportunity (no pun intended 😉) to utilize Tong’s bodily fluids. They set it up so perfectly the first two episodes and then have done nothing with it since. I was hoping to see Tong be milked repeatedly to give Mark life. Oh what could have been 😞.

Thank you!!!!! I am so glad someone else is screaming at the screen “turn him into a vampire!,” because I have been doing this over and over for weeks. I started to wonder if there is something I missed in this stories lore that makes it impossible.
He's a human being. He was half asleep and horny. I don't think he heard Pat.
I agree with you, I still think Jeng is a walking green flag. Maybe I am setting the bar too low, but I was so happy that Jeng respected Pat when he said he wasn't in the mood and didn't get angry or broody.
