it's normal to call an older girl who isn't actually your sister "jie". kinda similar to oppa/noona in korean.

this show is really good! being subbed on viki! sometimes the episodes are broken up into 2 parts and the dramacool website sometimes only has 1/2 parts

LOL yang zi is a very popular actress in china.. she acted in a famous family sitcom more than 10 years ago and has been successful since. there is this trend that whatever male star she partners with becomes super famous after their drama airs - granted ma tianyu is already very well known, but it happened with deng lun and li xian. and yeah mandy is right she's actually 26 - she had to act younger in go go squid to fit in her role. idk why everyone is strung up on kisses man.. she's literally normal at kissing and she's supposed to act like a 19/20 year old who has never kissed anyone before AND kissing is not even the most important part of dramas. no shade to you but i'm hoping you'll reconsider your opinion on yang zi!

everyone gets dubbed but some people dub their own characters! so yang zi dubbed herself basically LOL

yang zi dubs her own character in this drama! you're right that most people with strong non-standard accents get dubbed with someone elses voice. but i also think that you also can get dubbed if your voice is """annoying""" or has a certain sound to it. like in the case of zheng shuang in love 020, and ray ma in this drama. i don't think there's anything wrong with their mandarin but their voices both have a certain sound that makes it very characteristic to them, but not soothing (they both have kind of sharp voices) so i'm pretty sure that's why they both got dubbed in their respective dramas. but zheng shuang and ray ma acted together in river flows to you and it was their original voices so it probably depends on production crew/a lot of those types of factors that determine if an actor gets dubbed with not their own voice.

ok 2 episodes in (watched unsubbed) and i'm really looking forward to the side characters! i hope bff of FL and nerdy lookin professor (LOL i'm chinese but i'm so bad at remembering drama character names) end up being a couple!! i'm watching this bc i love yang zi and ma tianyu but tbh it's a little hard to get into it so far since ML has spoken like 5 words LOL and and FL is kind of inconsiderate in a naive way. i'm excited to watch more...see some character (and language) development LOL and hopefully get into it more though! also i can't really tell but i think they dubbed ma tianyu so i'm kinda sad about that :(

I loved watching this! I wanted to find something similar but I really can't seem to....I tried watching who's the keyman and I just cannot get into the premise of that show? It has so many good reviews but I could only make it halfway through the first ep. If anyone has any suggestions lmk!

THIS SHOW IS SOOOO CUTE!!! I would really recommend (especially if u like kids! unfortunately theres no subs but all the eps are on youtube!!!!) I really formed an attachment to the kids in the show LOL its so endearing to watch them grow over the episodes.

When she was filming love o2o she was suffering from back pain (spinal pain? or some sort of back surgery) so she was on meds and lost a lot of weight because of that. She's gained weight back since love o2o so she looks a lot more natural in this drama. Don't think you should assume that she's suffering from something and needs to recover, though I think she has spoken about mental illness/hinted at it. If i remember correctly, she's spoken about how her own condition now results in works that she's not fully proud of. She's actually a very open and real actress, who isn't afraid to speak about things that are taboo so I really like her for that. Also, tbh her character is literally an accessory in love o2o... her character has barely any depth to begin with, and even though the relationship is deemed "romantic" she's basically a robot who doesn't have any say in it. It all revolves around yang yang's character imo so she isn't even given an option to show good acting skills.
