I think I'm more open to Asian remakes of Asian dramas or Asian countries adapting their neighbour countries…
Like 'The Lake house' and 'Juno' for example are both I think we'll received remakes of Korean movies. I watched the original of both movies, but never really watched their US versions, still many ppl like those.
Maybe we are a lil bit to 'racist' about the western remakes.
Successful or not as the name suggests every remake is different from the original...no matter how meticulously…
The episodes being 2 hours long is a really big problem for me, too. Still seeing those drama as a whole they are much, much, much better compared to the Turkish remake of Boys over Flowers. Turkey really improved in producing remakes.
I never finish a Turkish drama, btw, cause they are tooooo long.
But the island in It's Okay That's Love is not Jeju Island, but Okinawa. ;)
Maybe we are a lil bit to 'racist' about the western remakes.
I like it if the remake sticks to the original plot, but adds some extra new cultural aspects.
It is all a matter of preference.
And thank you. :D
