Blooms for her, also a short drama ( +- 10 mins ) Plot is nothing similiar however its still quite addicting, spicy 🌶️and the leads chemistry could burn a whole town. The character roles are swapped here, FL climbing the social ladder and ML as the forgotten prince, also the plot isnt as illogical or ridiculous as much minis nowadays, I personally enjoyed it. ( I find it quite similiar to Snow Kong's character in POJ the vibes i mean, cunning ML & smart FL kinda thing )
Oldschool doesnt necessarily means bad, just different style in cameraworks, angles , ost placements, but the color grading is definitely what I noticed the most but that might be intentional to show more warmer tones to suit the background, which i agree does made it look older
They even did it to blossoms of power , idk why they are so entitled , poj was just a regular historical drama…
Honestly, the predictable- ness aspects of it just works in a way that will make people interested in it while keeping it low stake/light cuz not everything has to be a mindblowing plotwist after one another. Also the amount of couples to roots for💁🏻, "oh you dont like main couple, here have this extremely toxic second couple, no? Have this third couple who has the sweetest interactions all the time." It just works, simple as that. As for this drama I just watched the first episode and I think its really interesting and very intriguing, would I continue watching it ? Maybe. Would I go out of my way to compare it with POJ for no reason? Nah, im honestly surprised seeing the amount of people comparing the two together

Careful there, theyre gonna coming for you next D: by them I mean me included, but lets not get wild in other dramas page and keep things civil also what do you consider a regular historical drama with something special just curious..
He explained it though - it's because the character has suffered so much and is a cuckoo's egg in his enemies'…
That makes so much sense, but even in his first appearance or later on Qi Min's silhouette always looks HUGE and puffy, the fur cape kinda made him look disproportional at times, but the posture and gait is defo very noticeable
Honestly, im still too early for giving a final verdict in this, however after 20 eps in 2x speed I can say that I simply am not interested in this. Its one thing to see the director and screenwriter butcher a characters traits, personality and their charms but the whole shitty "foreshadowning" are pmo, dont make me talk about the opening ( 3 whole minutes spoiling the whole plot, yall cant be serious ) the plot itself is kinda dumb, everyone WILL make way for the "human" Bai Shuo to collect her infinity stones and creating a major disaster to any city she comes to. Humanoid typhoon heh, thats more like it.
Also im not in the mood for arguing in a completely unrelated place just to defend my favorite dramas. Just because you have the main leading actors of said dramas as your pfp does not mean other people MUST like the exact dramas that you like. Difference taste in dramas are okay and thats whats great about it you just have to find what works for you and what doesnt, to each to their own iykwim.
Wouldnt you know it, Im actually in the middle of watching that rn. I like the setting however dramas with annoying SML is not my fav tropes so thats a minus cookie point for me (VOS obviously didnt have this thats why its better in my opinion)My second attempt at this and honestly I do hope its actually as good as you say, we'll see🤔
In case youre still hesitating, ill be the third to say that it is THAT good, absolute peak that will set the bar for Romance Fantasy Cdramas you will watch in the future so high to the point nothing will satisfy you anymore😖✨
Ok i cant be the only am i? I always get reminded of Hou Ming Hao when ever i watch Ding Yu Xi.. there similarities…
Cannot agree more, some scene made me pause just to compare them (especially the desperate crying scene, that made them look strikingly similiar). Although I do think the makeup and wigs styling played a big part in this, comparing their other roles they dont look that similiar. But yeah Chu Kong and Ji Bozai just share extremely similiar wigs and wardrobes imo
Sometimes I just need Ding Yu Xi dramas to heal me from those typical stiff ahh male leads in dramas, no one can compare to him in those subtle yet exaggerated almost animated expression that he does.
